“ Brand: Sainsbury¬s / Type: Face Toner / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I don't as a general rule always use toner especially when my skin feels dry and tight but sometimes if I feel my skin needs a little bit extra "help" in the cleansing department, I do stock up on the stuff.
WHAT DOES IT DO...
Sainsbury's fragrance free toner is advertised to be specially formulated to remove excess oils. It is dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The product isn't expensive and in keeping with this, the packaging is very simple. The clear liquid can be seen through the 100ml plastic bottle, there is a simple label on the front and instructions and information on the back- nothing fancy.
When I unscrew the lid I notice that as the label claims, this product is fragrance free- there is no scent at all. It just looks like water and given that there is no smell, it could well be water.
The product should be applied all over the face using cotton wool, with care being taken that it doesn't get into eyes. When I use it, I do find that it is very gentle and doesn't feel at all harsh or astringent. However, given that it is so gentle, it does seem to remove any last traces of dirt from my face and the cotton wool pad bears the evidence that after wearing make up I am not cleansing my face properly!
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
The product is available instore at Sainsburys and also online at www.sainsburys.co.uk. It usually costs 98p for 100ml but I bought it online at a cost of 2 bottles for £1, so nothing to grumble about here.
The toner is gentle and cleansing and because it is very gentle, it is suitable for my skin which rally doesn't need any astringent drying out products. The only grumble I have about it is that my skin never feels squeaky clean after using it, and I could in fact be wiping my face with water although I tend to assume I'm not.
Decent enough for the price but not for anyone wanting a more specialised product.
