A good basic daily moisturiser by Shiseido

There are many things that help us to start our day. What is in your mind when it comes to start your day? I believe that most of us will say: COFFEE! Yes, I agree that coffee is one of the most important part of our morning routine. However, don't forget about your skin! Just like putting on your clothes, your skin will need to wear something to protect it. =)

      The package
This day moisturises comes in a tall white bottle. It contains 75ml and comes with a pump. It is always good to have a product that comes in a pump because it is more hygienic (the product won't come in contact with your hand and the air until the time you use it) and it is easier to know the amount you need to use.

      Applying the product
All you need to do is press on the pump to get the moisturiser on your hand, rub the moisturiser for a few times so that it reaches the body temperature and smooth that over your face. It should be applied after you have cleansed your skin and applied the toner.

      The result
The products claims to be a daytime moisturizer specially formulated to provide optimal hydration and balance in skin while protecting against UV rays and the damaging effects of other environmental factors. Personally I feel that it is quite useful when it comes to moisturising your skin. My skin won't feel dry all day and it won't become too oily either. The skin, not being too oily, means that it is well hydrated and the moisturiser has done its job. In that regard, I am very happy with it.

Besides, the texture of this moisturiser is quite light and I do not find my skin feeling "blocked" by the moisturiser.

      Something extra
This daily moisturiser comes with a SPF 15 formula which should provide some kind of protection from the sunlight. However, if you are going to be under the sun for some time, I would recommend you applying an extra layer of sun protection! This SPF 15 will only be able to protect your skin, in my opinion, if you are working indoor all day long (i.e. the few minutes you are under the sun is when you are going to the office... and you never get to see the sun after work because you work till late....)

For your information, a 75 ml bottle of this moisturiser is generally available at around £40.

      Advantages

Recommended moisturiser for anyone who would like to give extra care for their skin

The first time I've used a Shiseido product was a cleansing foam that was given to me as a gift from my aunt. It came with a wonderful recommendation that the skincare range helps fight the oiliness and helps maintain the smooth appearance of skin. Therefore, I decided to try the cleansing foam and was very surprised by the good results. As a result, I was highly tempted to try the full range and ended up buying the abovementioned moisturiser as part of a gift set.

It's no secret that Shiseido products are within the high price range and this product is no exception. It's normally priced at £44.00 but I, fortunately, managed to buy this as part of a gift set that costs £44.00 (which means I got the cleansing foam and the toning solution for free). The content volume is 75 ml.

The bottle is made of ceramic from what I can see and it's of very good quality. It has a simple and clean design. It also has easy application as you just need to pop the cap rather than twisting it to open. Personally, I like the pumping function because it keeps the moisturiser away from contaminants. However, from my experience, I have to make sure that I don't press the pump too much because it will dispense a large volume of moisturiser.

The moisturiser itself is a liquid with low viscosity which allows easy application. Half a pea-size is enough for one application and generously covers my face. This is a good point considering the price of the product itself. The moisturiser is also SPF 15 so it gives protection from sunburns (however, I have yet to experience this protection given the windy and rainy weather lately). It is a day moisturiser; however, I do use it at night as well as it leaves my skin smooth and hydrated. I have a oily skin and this moisturiser can leave my T-zone slightly oily but this hasn't been accompanied with acnes. Therefore, I have to say the oiliness is due to hydration, rather than blocking of pore and trapping dirts.

I have bought this product about 2 months ago and I believe I still got more than half the content left. Therefore, I think this moisturiser would last for 4-5 months approximately.

From my experience, I am pleased with this product. Despite the price tag, I think this is a great moisturiser if you feel that your skin needs an extra care. I would recommend this.

Thank you for reading. :) x

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A good introduction to SPF moisturisers - definitely worth a trial run

I bought this after using Shiseido's Pureness matifying moisturiser for a couple of months after speaking to my mother about the benefits of using a moisturiser with SPF - she had begun using an SPF moisturiser (not Shiseido) and had seen a great change in her skin since. I had been very happy with the Pureness moisturiser (especially its sensitivity and matifying qualities) so I spoke to my Shiseido rep about their SPF range. This is part of their 'The Skincare' range and is their lowest-priced sun protective moisturiser. I had purchased other products from 'The Skincare' range and so opted to buy this one. Whilst it is much, much better than other SPF moisturisers I have tried in the past in terms of being light and wearable every day, it does leave my skin oily after application and lacks the matifying abilities of the Pureness moisturiser. I have considered wearing it on top of the Pureness moisturiser but have yet to be brave enough to try! But I don't think I'll stop using this one any time soon, especially as I once accidentally forgot to put it on, and felt the effects almost immediately after being out in the sun - my face felt hot and itchy, as though it were slightly burnt, so beware if you are concerned about your face growing more sensitive to the sun as you will probably become dependent on this product! I have no real criticism though and am very happy with this product's performance relative to other lotions I have tried in the past - and I have noticed a marked difference in my skin tone since using SPF!
