“ Brand: Shiseido / Type: Cleansing Foam / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Cleanses, Purifies / Product line: Shiseido The Skincare „
Shiseido 'The skincare' range was introduced to me by my aunt, who has been using the same range for about two years and she believe that this skincare range is one of the best beauty regimes. This skincare range is highly recommended and she even gave me samples to try to it. Needless to say, I fell in love with this range and hence my purse has to suffer for it.
Shiseido 'The skincare' purifying cleansing foam is the first step of the regime. The product comes in a clear, pale ivory coloured tube with a twist cap. It's a very simple design but I like the minimalist feel of this product. I was given two 30 ml sample tubes but the product is usually retailed in 125 ml tubes that last for a long time.
The product itself is a thick condensed cream and you only need a small pea size amount to fully cover the whole face. I usually lightly wet my face and then use a small quantity of this foam cream and rub thoroughly through my face. The foam isn't too bubbly but it's very smooth and lathery; usually I massage the foam into my face for about 30 seconds and more even I have make-up on. From my experience, the foam can easily be rinsed off with water and it will left a smooth and cleansed skin behind.
However, one drawback of this cleansing foam is that it is not very effective at removing eye make-ups. It does remove foundations easily but it usually leaves residual eyeliner make-up behinds. Therefore, I usually use a specific eye make-up removal solution or just plain soap around the small area around my eyes.
Nevertheless, the quality of this product is very good and I can feel my skin softening with continuous usage. As part of the product description, it said the product contains purifying granules for a gentle exfoliating effect and I personally feel that the product has good exfoliating effect on my skin.
As for the price, it is quite expensive. I got the 30 ml sample tube for free but the 125 ml tubes on sale is usually retailed for around £30.00-35.00, which is expensive for a face wash to put it simply. However, the last 30 ml tube has lasted me for about 3 months. Based on this, I would say the 125 ml tube would lasts for a year even with generous usage. Therefore, given the duration, I would say the price is acceptable considering the high quality product you get for the price.
Overall, I would recommend the product to those with a normal/oily skin range and wants smoother and softer skin. Also, if you use this together with a toner and a moisturiser form the same range, I believe the effect would be more obvious. If you have a chance, give this a try and see if it complements your skin.
