Advantages: Evens out my skin. Cleans

Disadvantages: Didn't prevent spots.

I am always on the lookout for new beauty items for various reasons, even when I already have five of the same sort of thing, I still like to try more just to see how they work.

One day in Boots I came across the 'Simple' facial scrub, and decided to give it go as it was reasonably priced compared to other products I have used such as Clinique etc.

The main reason I decided to give it ago was because I suffer a lot from spots and blemishes and seeing as it was advertised as a clear skin treatment I had nothing to lose. It cost me no more than £3 a couple of months back and to me, it was worth the money. Ut also states that it has been clinically proven to help reduce appearance of blackheads and blemishes.

I use it once a day when I go for my daily shower or bath and wet my face first and then apply a small amount onto my fingers and rub into my face. I give it a good scrub to make sure that my skin is even as I seem to get a lot of 'bobbley' bits on my face, especially my nose which makes makeup application a bit uneven and harder to apply. Once it is rubbed in good and proper I rinse my face to make sure it has all been removed and jobs a good'en.

When my face is dry, it feels really soft and suitable for toning.

So what does it look like?

The tube itself is blue and stands up by using the lid as a base, so its upside down and easy to squeeze out of the tube. The tube isnt completely see through but has a nice colour tone to it and looks professional but also very clean looking which I liked. On the front it says 'simple' in big type and then says what it is underneath, so in this case an 'oil balancing, clear skin, face scrub'. It also includes a little bit more information on the back like how to apply and such.

The scrub itself is pale blue and white colour with tiny blue beads which are used to exfoliate the skin, but not big enough to irritate or hurt like some others i have tried- See my review on Lush's Ocean Salt to see what i mean by this. There is a slight smell to it but it is unperfumed, so nothing has been added to it scent wise and therefore is good for people with sensitive skin like myself.

So has it worked for me?

It has definitely helped me even my skin out, however I do still get spots on my face so doesn't completely prevent them I am afraid. However I shall keep searching for the perfect scrub, or even still use this and find a different face wash. its all trial and error at the end of the day.

Summary: Not yay, but not nay either.
