Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser is one of my preferred facial moisturisers. Why? Well, it's cheap, it does the job and it soothes my skin without leaving it feeling sticky. The moisturiser comes presented in a white plastic bottle with a green lid. The size of the moisturiser is 125ml and it usually costs around £4 to £5, depending on where you buy it from. I bought mine for a bargain £1.99 from Tesco a couple of months back when the Simple range was on offer. I would say that the moisturiser is suitable for all skin types, however I chose this one because the "light" option seemed like the right choice for my oily skin.
The moisturiser is white in colour and it has a nice creamy consistency. A little goes a long way so you only need a small amount of the moisturiser to cover your entire face. I apply a thin layer of this moisturiser after cleansing and toning. It absorbs into my skin straight away and it doesn't leave any greasy residue on my skin after use. It simply soaks immediately and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and moisturised. The moisturising effect is long lasting and if I apply this moisturiser before going to bed at night I always wake up to lovely soft skin in the morning.
I have oily/ combination skin and I am pleased to say that this moisturiser is not at all heavy for my skin type. It is actually really nice and light and I can even use it as a base for make up. If I apply this moisturiser before my foundation it helps my foundation stay put (used alongside primer) and it keeps my skin feeling soft and supple throughout the day.
This is a great moisturiser for the price. It's also great for using on fresh tattoos as the moisturiser prevents them from drying out, aiding the healing process. I always use this moisturiser on fresh tattoos and it does help them to heal quicker and brighter, bonus!
For the price you really can't go wrong. Sometimes "Simple" really is best!
I have tried a huge range of moisturisers over the years and found the perfect body lotion for me a few years ago. I have had a much more difficult time trying to find a face moisturiser that is affordable, kind to my skin and really effective. I think this may be it!
Affordability: typically this product retails at around £4.50 for a 125ml bottle. I am quite happy to spend this as the product works so well for me and I have found the bottle lasts me much longer than other moisturisers.
The product: the moisturiser comes in a bottle format which isn't my favourite type as it can get difficult to get the product out when it's running low. The product itself however, gets 5/5 from me. As soon as you squeeze a little out of the bottle you can feel how light the moisturiser is. It is more translucent than other thick, white moisturisers I have in my collection. Because of its consistency the product feels lovely on your skin. A little bit goes a long way so I just apply a few small blobs all over my face. The product feels silky smooth on your face and it is absorbed really quickly. The absorption is really important to me because it means I can apply my makeup almost straight away.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has dry skin like I have. It is an affordable price and leaves you with a silky smooth, non-greasy feel.
The main reason why I started using this product is because I have used up my Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser, and I have not yet got the financial luxury to splurge on that premium brand. So I made a little bit of research, to see which drugstore skin care product that I could use to replace the moisturiser that I have been using for the last two years.
Some of the internet users recommended Simple Moisturisers. They came up with two different moisturisers, the light moisturiser and the rich one. Based on the type of my skin, I chose the light one. It was only around three quids from Savers.
Honestly, I was a little bit sceptical when I saw the packaging. The bottle is very much unappealing. It's not in a tube nor in a pot, but in a bottle; and, I would have to squeeze it to get to the white thick lotion. However, based on experiences, I should never judge a product by its packaging.
The product itself is pretty convincing. The thick white lotion has a consistency of a paste than a cream, but it's not as hard as paste. The texture is smooth, and just a little could go a long way. However, I tend to apply it generously because it really feels nice on my skin, and it doesn't feel heavy, sticky, or oily.
I love the fact that, like the clinique moisturiser, Simple Light Moisturiser is fragrance free. What is more exciting for me is that the ingredients list says that not only this is fragrance free, but it is also free from many unnecessary chemicals.
I have only used this product for one week now, but I have not noticed any changing in my skin condition, compared to when I was using the premium brand. Now I have a sneaky feeling that this might be as good as premium brand's quality.
Product: Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser
I’ve used the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser on and off for several years now and I keep on going back to this product time and time again. This is fabulous if you are on a bit of a budget but at the same time still want a good quality product which works well.
I bought the moisturiser from Boots and I paid £4.50 for a 125ml bottle. Keep your eyes peeled for special offers as these are often on the 3 for 2 offers and are even sometimes on offer at half the price.
The moisturiser is packaged in a Cardboard box which inside as a simple white squeezy bottle with a green lid and simple green logo for the products logo and description.
The Simple Moisturiser as no artificial perfume or colour, no unnecessary ingredients and it is dermatologically tested and approved. This seemed the ideal product for my dry and sensitive skin as the last thing I wanted is a product which would upset my skin.
As the instructions suggest I smooth the moisturiser gently into my face and neck using upward and outward movements. The moisturiser is extremely light in consistency and glides onto my skin effortlessly. Afterwards my skin is feeling smooth and soft whilst looking radiant.
I cannot recommend this product enough, for the price it is fantastic and a product which I will continue to use again and again. The only downfall for me is that this moisturiser on my skin can only be used in the morning or day as for night time I like to use a rich cream to work it’s magic on my skin overnight.
The moisturiser is suitable for all skin types.

I'm a bit of a beauty junkie and am a sucker for their marketing and so have a big selection of different lotions and potions although I belive each has its certain time and use and can achieve different things for me. For example, I like to use oil on my face and hair at night time but will use a thicker cream also for overnight and then a lighter cream during the day.
One of my favourite light face creams is this hydrating light moisturiser from Simple. I love Simple beauty products because, as the name suggests, they are simple, with no colours or no fragrances so they are very kind to your skin, especially the delicate skin on your face which is why I like this moisturiser so much.
Simple say, "When your skin's happy and fresh faced, you feel healthier and happier too!
Our Hydrating Light Moisturiser is a perfect blend of ingredients to help keep your skin replenished and hydrated. Perfect for even sensitive skin."
I love this lotion because it really is nice and light and not heavy and thick like a night cream. Although thick creams definitely have their place in my beauty routine, I like using this moisturiser in the morning because it leaves my face feeling moisturised but light enough to be able to apply my make up without my face feeling heavy, weighed down or clogged.
The cream is clean and white and I only need a couple of dabs to cover my whole face and leave it feeling nice and even. Almost as soon as I've applied it I can't feel it on my face which is lovely. Simple day that this cream contains vitamin goodness for naturally healthy skin. There are 2 vital vitamins and 2 skin loving ingredients and by looking at the list of ingredients I can see things like Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, Glycerin and Borage Seed Oil, helps to moisturise and soften the skin.
All in all a great light moisturiser.
I'm one of those people with naturally greasy skin, and at 25 it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Although I would be reluctant to apply any moisturiser every day in fear when of having an outbreak of spots, this moisturiser does seem to help in the first few days of an outbreak, when applying this the day after a huge mountain-like spot appears out of nowhere, it does seem to help settle the outbreak down.
This moisturiser is great for applying before make-up, in order to minimise the chances of a spot breakout.
The moisturise leaves your skin feeling soft and supple, unlike other moisturisers I have tried it doesn't leave a sticky feeling on your face. It has a silky texture when applying, and is quite thin so you hardly even notice it's there. There isn't really any scent/fragrance to this moisturiser which is great for people like me who have sensitive skin/are prone to spot outbreaks.
Why I like this product
This is the only moisturiser that I will by as I've never had any sort of reaction to it , and having really sensitive skin this is rare for me, products that have been fine in the past have caused reactions at other times, but this product is not one of them. This product always leaves my skin feeling refreshed and soft.
My skin gets very dry after cleansing so I need a good moisturiser that will re-hydrate my skin effectively. I have tried a few products on the market and have found this product to be far the best value for money. I was already a fan of the Simple range so was not disappointed with their Simple hydrating moisturiser. The bottle claims to "work for 12 hours". I only need to apply it once in the morning after washing and it does keeps my skin beautifully soft and hydrated right up until bed time. I am very sensitive to smell and dislike any products that are heavy perfumed. I hardly notice any scent from it so I find it perfect for me. It is also packed with vitamin b5 and vitamin e which is really good for your skin. As a product at the lower end of the price scale I think this product is an absolute bargain!
Something that I use everyday is a face moisturiser. I apply it as soon as I'm washed etc and apply it under make up and so on. I have one for day time use and one for night to not only to keep my face feeling supple and soft but to try to delay the signs of ageing.
I bought this one in Boots quite a long time ago now and it cost me £3.79, which for the large size I got I was very pleased with.
As are all Simple products this is a simple looking bottle that is informative enough. This moisturiser comes in a white and green plastic bottle that has a flip-top lid to the top of it and on the front of it we are clearly told that it is Simple 'Kind to skin, hydrating light moisturiser and that it has vitamin goodness for naturally healthy skin and gives 12 hour moisturisation and that it has vital vitamins, skin loving ingredients and that it contains no perfume and no colour and then on the back of the bottle other information given includes being told a bit about the product and directions for use are given, the size is stated (which in this case is 125ml) and contact details for Simple Health & Beauty are given.
The Moisturiser Itself:
This moisturiser is white in colour and very smooth and quite runny but it does have a bit of body to it so it isn't like the consistency of water or anything like that but it is easy to squeeze the bottle and get the amount out that you want.
It doesn't really contain any fragrance at all this this one and it is designed for sensitive skin.
Applying it is really easy. You don't need very much at all as a little goes a very long way and I simply and gently massage it into my face and into my neck. It isn't greasy this one and simply soaks into the skin leaving the outside with a nice sheen to it that isn't greasy but gives my skin a healthy look to it.
I like the way this is so easy to apply and I like the way that my skin feels when I have applied it. Containing Vitamin B5 which is to soften and soothe, Vitamin E to help over time to improve the skin condition, Glycerin to hydrate and nourish, Borage seed oil to help renew and regenerate and containing no harsh chemicals I find this to not only give me the immediate benefits of making my skin look smoother and feel it (and add to that make up sits on this very well as well giving me a nice smooth base to work on) but over time I do feel that skin is less problematic with spots and blemishes and that it does feel a bit more plumper and hydrated in general. However this hasn't helped me with wrinkle worries that I have or anything like that though it doesn't promise to do that to be fair however what it does promise it gives to me easily and its just a really decent, none singing and dancing every day type of moisturiser that I think is suitable for most women or of course men as long as long as you don't want or need anything heavy and just want your skin to feel softer/smoother and to look and feel a bit more healthy.
Not a bad buy though me, well I won't be buying it again as I'd like something that targets my wrinkles and frown lines!
Widely available in all good chemists and supermarkets.

This moisturiser from Simple is a hydrating light moisturiser containing pro-vitamin B5, vitamin E and glycerin which is said to hydrate, nourish and moisture for 12 hours. As with all Simple products there is no perfume and no colour.
I have been using this product for a while now and have found it to do exactly what it says. It is a the lower end of the price range for such products but definitely works well despite this. It is light and easily absorbed, so no waiting around for it to soak in before putting make-up over it. If I ever forget to use it I feel the skin around my nose getting tight and uncomfortable so it really does make a difference.
I would recommend this product to anyone who gets dry skin but also to anyone who just wants a nice light, quick absorbing moisturiser that avoids any nasty unnecessary additives.
I often suffer from dry skin, and most of the time, I don't notice it until I've put foundation on to go out. I'm sure I'm not the only one that hates going out with visible dry skin.
Now, I've tried many different moisturisers, and most of them would work for a few weeks, with daily use. But as soon as I forgot to use it for one day, the dry skin would be back. Some of them also irritated my sensitive skin, so it was time to go for a slightly more expensive brand.
I bought this after seeing the many adverts for Simple products and thought I'd give it a go. I wasn't sure if I should get the light moisturiser or the rich one, but after some research I decided the light option would be best for me.
Simple promise that their products contain no harsh chemicals, are kind to skin and contain essential Vitamins. Perfect for those of us which are sensitive to heavily perfumed products.
I'm so glad I switched to this product. Although the bottle is only small at 125ml, and the price, at around £3-£5 is slightly more expensive than some other brands, a small amount of cream goes a long way. It leaves my face feeling very smooth and takes away the problem of going out with dry skin. I do have to use it quite often, but unlike with some other creams, if I skip one day, the dry skin doesn't come back straight away.
I've had no skin irritation whatsoever, so the product lives up to the promise. I chose the light moisturiser, because although I have dry skin, it's only small amounts. The rich moisturiser is suitable for people with more severe dry skin conditions.
The cream dries quickly when you've massaged it into your skin, so if you're in a hurry,or you're about to go to bed, you don't need to worry about waiting for your cream to dry. I find that is also helps my foundation to settle into my skin, if I put it on while the cream is still slightly damp.
WHERE TO BUY
You can find this cream for sale in a variety of different shops. Sometimes the best offers are in Supermarkets, or in Superdrug, although I've also bought some from Ebay in the past.
The bottle is quite small, so it's easy to take out in your bag if you need some moisturising on the go. It has a simple design, white with a green lid, and for me, the simple packaging reflects the simplicity of the product itself.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great, hydrating moisturiser, whether you have sensitive skin or not, this product will work wonders for your skin.
I was given this moisturiser by my Mam who had bought it and then not been very keen on using it, as I didn't buy the product I have looked t up for this review an currently it sells at £1.52 for a 50ml bottle from Boots.
The bottle that holds the product is mainly white in colour and made of plastic, it has some detailing on the bottle in green and of course has the name of the brand and the product. It states on the bottle that it is from the sensitive skin experts and that it has 2 vital vitamins, 2 skin loving nutrients and 0 perfume or colours which of course is what helps make it suitable for sensitive skin. On the back of the bottle you are told, it has Pro-Vitamin B5 restores, softens and smoothes, Vitamin E moisturises and improves skin condition and pH balanced works in harmony with your skin.
The product in the bottle is white in colour and pretty much doesn't have a smell at all which personally I don't like as I really like to be able to smell my skin after completing my skincare routine. The cream is quite runny and comes out of the bottle easily, it is easy to rub into my skin and I find that my skin absorbs it pretty well. I have dry areas on my cheeks and will apply this twice on these areas as I feel once isn't enough to make a difference although once is enough on areas that aren't dry.
I find that my skin feels nice and smooth after using this cream and it doesn't leave my skin damp or greasy which personally I hate from creams. I also find that my skin is left looking natural after using this cream and it is not t all shiny which is great as most days I don't put make up on. I like this cream and feel it really does a great job as a moisturiser however as I don't need a cream that is for sensitive skin I would prefer it to have a fruity fragrance to it so rate it 4 stars from 5.
A few years ago I would buy any moisturizer that was cheap or on offer at any store that I was shopping in at the time. I have tried all sorts of moisturizers but once I ran out of one I would always buy a different brand of what was on offer at the time. This was until I came across the simple moisturizer!
Light Moisturizer that is claimed to leave 12hr moisture to the skin and will hydrate and nourish. It has two vitamins - Pro vitamin B5 and Glycerin. It has no colour or perfume
My skin changes daily from dry to oily so its always been hard finding a moisturizer that doesn't lay thick and heavy on the skin. With others I had a tendency to pile it on even though they were thick because it would not spread evenly on the skin and just sat heavy on it. That all changed when I went to Boots one day and saw this on offer at £2.00 I think it was. This was 4years ago and I have not used another moisturizer since!
The packaging was nice and simple. The box is really easy and quick to read what the item actually is. It did not look cheap to me even though it was on offer at £2.00 at the time. The bottle is a hard plastic so can easily be stood up with other products instead of squashed at the bottom of the makeup draw!!
Simple do a lot of different products within their range but this caught my eye as it stated it was a 'Light' moisturizer. My skin was very dry at the time of first trying it as I had just had a baby so this is just what I needed. On first application I put a pea sized amount in my hand and it instantly felt soothing and lovely all over my skin. I had to apply a second pea size to cover the entire face/neck and this spread light and evenly all over. My skin felt fresh instantly but there was no heavy smell or residue left on the skin which was a huge problem with other moisturizers that I had bought in the past! I found that when I applied this in the morning before doing my makeup my foundation would glide on without leaving a scale horrible dry look to the skin. I then removed my makeup off in the evening and applied another layer and this instantly made my face lovely and fresh again after the dry, tight feeling of removing makeup.
A few years later now on when my face is a little more oily it still works fantastic! You can buy a Rich moisturizer which is also by Simple but I will always use the light and you only need to apply a little bit and it lasts ages. I apply twice a day and it will last a few months before I have to buy another. I am currently pregnant and received a bounty pack and got a full sized simple moisturizer for free! I couldn't of been happier!
My husband recently bought me a Simple gift box, as he knows I love the shampoo, and this was part of the gift. I am actually quite funny about using moisturiser as it often leaves my skin feeling heavy and oily or drys my skin out. I also have such sensitive skin, I am even allergic to E45, so to be honest I had just given up, until I found this!
The packaging is simple green and white as all Simple branded items are. The moisturiser comes in a simple plastic bottle with a flip lid, that opens to give you a whole where you can squirt the required amount out. I like this as I find my nails are too long for the ones you open and scoop out with your hand, leading to lots of wastage and the ones that are open and you tap out, usually too much comes out, so this is perfect for getting just the amount you need.
This moisture is light, just as it says. When you squeeze the amount you need, you can feel this straight away. Also because it is light it spreads easily and you don't need to use a lot. Also, and the thing I love the most, is when you put it on, it still feels light and drys leaving your skin feeling refreshed and healthy, not oily and heavy. It also drys really quickly, you don't have to wait ages before applying make up over it or before putting your head on the pillow. I've often sat in bed wafting my hand to dry my moisturiser on my face so it didn't get into my hair and make it greasy. It also, because you don't have to use a lot, lasts for a long time.
I bought mine for around £3.00, so this really doesn't break the bank and as it lasts so long I don't have to buy it often!
Would I recommed it: I already do!!!
I love to use Simple products and I have quite a few different types of Simple moisturisers. I buy them whenever they are on offer, and this is usually Superdrug. I don't have a particularly sensitive skin, as such, and I am not loyal to any one brand, but I am a terrible sucker for advertising and I was taken by the fact that this was on offer for only 99p at Home Bargains of all places. It was advertised as not only being kind to the skin but also containing 2 essential vitamins (B5 and vitamin E) both of which are meant to be excellent for the skin.
I actually have two bottles of this moisturiser now. I keep one upstairs on my dressing table and I have the other one downstairs I the drawer of my side table. At night I use the one upstairs on my face and neck but often whilst I am sitting downstairs watching TV (or having a glass of wine) I use the other bottle on my hands and legs.
It's fantastic, I think, as a general, all round moisturiser which is perfect to use on either your face or all over your body. I think it is primarily designed for the face area but I use it on my feet and shins all the time. It has no smell at all. There is no perfume of any kind in this lotion. It's white in colour, medium level consistency and it is absorbed super fast into the skin. It's not thick like my Body Shop Body Butters but this works great for me if I am in a hurry as it dries in an instant.
I will often use this as a hand cream if I have had my hands in water for long periods of time and they feel quite dried out. I use it all over my face, including around the delicate eye area and even over my lips if they are feeling particularly dry and cracked. It is a very versatile moisturiser. It's easy to apply and I can control how much comes out of the 125ml white plastic bottle as it has a flip top lid with a small hole, so I can take out as much or as little as I want to use at any one time.
I would pay full price for this moisturiser (about £3) as I have been really impressed with it since I have been using it and it is just as good as some of the more expensive brands.
Excellent product and one I highly recommend.
My face often feels dry when I have taken my makeup off so I use a moisturiser twice a day. Once in the morning before I apply makeup and then before bed once I have taken my make up off. I tend to use one moisturiser for both occasions, as I don't like having different bottles hanging around looking messy!
I saw this when I was shopping in Lidl and as it worked out better value than their own Cien brand, I picked it up. I recognised the brand as one that my sister uses regularly and as she has very senstive skin, I knew it would be fine for mine.
== Packaging ==
The bottle is made from white plastic with a green flip top lid. It has the Simple logo in green and information about the moisturiser on the front such as it is a hydrating light moisturiser. On the back of the bottle it has more key selling points of the product, it contains 2 vital vitamins which are Pro Vitamin B5 which restores, softens and smoothes and then Vitamin E which moisturises to improve your skin condition. The text is clear to read as it is green on a white background.
== How to Use and My thoughts ==
The directions on the bottle are simple, smooth the moisturiser gently into your face and neck using upward and outward movements. The moisturiser is white and unscented, quite thin lotion. I used a small amount of the product and found it rubs in easily and quickly into my skin, and left it feeling smooth, and soft. I found it was a good base for makeup too.
== Price and Availability ==
This is available to buy in a wide range of retailers. I bought my moisturiser from Lidl and I think it cost around £3.00 for 125ml bottle which I thought was good value as it lasts me a long time.
== Overall Summary ==
I like this moisturiser and I would buy it again. The bottle lasts me a long time as the product goes a long way. You only need a small amount to make your skin feel moisturised. Great product for even sensitive skin, which I would recommend.
Thanks for reading.
Whether its smiles, sandwiches or plumped-up pillows, everyday things mean a lot.And moisturisers no different.Everything here has no perfume and no colour just the right ingredients for happy skin all day long.Packed with smoothing Pro-Vitamin B5, this moisturiser is easily absorbed and is a great base for make-up
