One of my more recent reviews has been about my facial wipes that are made by Simple; I mentioned that I have a moisturiser of the same company and here is my accompanying review about said moisturiser - thought I'd share it with you since some companies have such hit and miss products!
~*~ The Moisturiser ~*~
It comes in a 125ml bottle that's about 5 inches tall and it's a nice shaped bottle to hold in your hand actually, very nicely designed. It's white with a green lid and green design, so if you are looking for it apart from looking in the Simple area, look for the trademark green and white bottles.
What's in it?
This moisturiser contains two vitamins, E and B5 - to give conditioned, smooth and softened skin. By using Glycerin it claims to nourish and hydrate skin for twelve hours. It also claims to not contain any harsh chemicals and anything that is unnecessary for your skin.
On the bottle it gives you instructions as to how to apply the moisturiser; suggesting to smooth gently into face and neck using upward and outward movements - come on who is going to apply it that way I know I definitely don't!
Is it any good?
In combination with my facial wipes it has been a great moisturiser, maybe because the products compliment each other or just in general because it's been quite wintery while I've been using it, it's saved my skin from drying out. Application, well I don't use the recommended way of doing it I apply before putting my make up on so make sure I apply extra to areas that are more prone to getting cold and therefore drying out - which will apply the same in summer. I just rub it in as and where it needs it most and it is easily absorbed into my skin; it doesn't take much rubbing in to get it all into my skin.
It is advertised as a light moisturiser, but that really depends how much you are applying if I'm honest. I'm prone to getting a very dry nose so I apply a lot to that area, but because I do put a lot on it, it does feel a little heavy - but not to a point that I feel pores are blocked, since I've been using this, and it's been a few months now I've not had any extra spots compared to normal. But my nose has been kept lovely and moisturised through these nasty cold spells with no flakey skin. So I am definitely going to give it a thumbs up for that!
Once applied you obviously have to give it a good rub to get into your skin, but I will warn you that if you are applying it during the day on top of make up or if you are a man using it - which I have managed to persuade my boyfriend to do (which took me a while!) as it is unisex, to make sure you can dab away any excess because it can make your skin look a little bit shiny and greasy, even though it isn't. Tip for the girls if you are using a liquid foundation mix the two on a sponge or on the fingers it makes your foundation moisturising as well so it turns into a more natural coloured foundation - more tinted than caked on!
That is all that is missing from this moisturiser actually is a bit of a hint of summer in it, to put a bit of extra colour into your face. But other than that it is a great moisturiser that will go well with other Simple products, and even just on its own - it gives great results loaded on your skin before bed and give it time to naturally be absorbed, you will get a soft face as a result of it and your skin will look much healthier as a result. Bonus with it not being too expensive, you're not spending a fortune either!
~*~ Price and Availability ~*~
It is available in Boots for £3.79, but I got every bottle of mine from Savers for £1.99 each - so you can get it from various places, online it varies from £2 to £4 so it's a matter of looking out for it in stores you might shop in as the price keeps changing when I see it.
Summary: A great cheap-ish moisturiser that gives great feeling skin!
