Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Toner

I tend to like the Simple products especially when we are away from home so Little Miss and I can use the same products with no adverse skin effects.

WHAT DOES THIS PROMISE?

The toner promises to be a perfect blend of ingredients so that skin can be kept toned and refreshed, and is suitable even for sensitive skin.

It apparently contains a special blend of ingredients including Pro-Vitamin B5, Chamomile, Witch Hazel and Allantoin. I don't know what most of these are but assume they must be good for skin or they wouldn't be mentioned. As with all Simple products the toner contains no perfume colour or unnecessary ingredients so skin wont be upset. It is also dermatologically tested and approved.

PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...

I was looking for a toner to take away for a long weekend away and when I found this 50ml bottle of the stuff on sale for 30p, it seemed a bargain. Although I am therefore considering the packaging of the small bottle, I assume the larger bottles wont be too different, and certainly the product should be the same.

The toner comes packaged in a green coloured plastic bottle with information and instructions on the back and a screw on/off lid. Because the bottle is green, the product when viewed from the outside looks green but when dispensed it is, thankfully, clear (obviously it contains no colouring). As well as being a clear liquid, the toner also has no smell at all. I have to use my faith in the product that its not just water!

USING THE TONER...

It is suggested that the toner is applied generously onto cotton wool and then applied to the skin morning and night. I don't know whether the larger bottles will dispense the toner any more easily than this small bottle, but I have found that it takes a great deal of shaking to get even a small amount out of the bottle as the hole is quite small and the bottle not especially squeezy.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...

The product is available in several sizes including a 200ml bottle at around £3, and a 50ml bottle for £1.29. it is available at most supermarkets and chemists.

VERDICT...

The toner is nice and gentle and certainly suitable for younger more sensitive skin. I found that it didn't sting at all and wasn't at all abrasive, nor did it leave my skin red and sore looking as harsher products can do.

It did remove all last traces of dirt and left my skin feeling clean but not tight, and nicely ready for moisturiser.

The main downside for me was the fact that it took ages to get the product out of the bottle, but this could be the dispensing hole in the small bottle, so not worth marking down.

Decent product which is reasonably pried.
