“ Brand: Simple / Mist / Type: Face Mist / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Hydrates, Moisturizes, brightens, „
Simple skincare never ceases to amaze me with their wonderful products and I have recently been using the Simple Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist Spray.
Described as "Our Moisture Boost Hydro Mist is a perfect blend of ingredients including lotus flower extract to help give dehydrated, tired and dull skin a boost of hydration for naturally dewy skin. The fine mist absorbs instantly into the skin, helping to refresh and restore optimum moisture balance and can even be used over make-up. Perfect for even sensitive skin" you pretty much have everything you need to know about it right there in front of you.
It arrives packaged inside a cardboard box which clearly gives you the information above as well as reminding you what the product is. This spray is meant to give you that naturally dewy skin which to me means moisturised and natural look. As with most Simple products there are two vitamins within this product which are pro vitamin B and vitamin E and add to that two further ingredients which are referred too as two "skin loving ingredients" which are lotus flower and glycerin. Like other Simple products this product has no perfume, colour or harsh chemicals.
The actual spray itself is totally brilliant in my opinion. All I need to do is just spray it a couple of times (for best results I suggest 2-4 sprays) holding the bottle around 20cm from the face and as the mist comes into contact with your skin, you feel an instant cooling sensation which is actually really refreshing. After a few minutes on your skin it does feel totally hydrated and there is no residue left behind and no tacky or stickiness either. I was quite surprised at how soft and smooth my skin felt after using and because my skin is combination, leading more towards the oily side, I am always conscious that I might suffer from a breakout or increase the oiliness of my skin, but infact I suffered from neither. Obviously it isn't a miracle cure and isn't going to have long lasting effects, for me the effects last for the entirety of the afternoon at work when I have sprayed and for £5.99 I cannot grumble, it does what I need it to do.
Simple Skin products for me are really underrated, every product I have used from the range so far has been brilliant and has delivered what it said it would do, whether that was to help dehydrated skin, moisturise, scrub, soften or soothe. They are also purse friendly when it comes to purchasing and given that they can be found in places such as Boots, Waitrose, Sainsburys and most high-street stores such as Superdrug, you are never going to be paying for more than £10 for any one item and they are usually on an offer of some kind in one or other of these places
For me this is such a lovely and handy product to have and it is perfect to have on my desk at work, after spending hours in front of a computer screen I often find I need to splash some water on my face to wake up, but now I can use this and it does the job just as well if not better.
Moisture Boost Hydro Mist retails at £5.99 for 50ml bottle which makes it very handbag friendly and easy to carry around and for me, I keep one on my desk, you just never know when you might need it.
I purchased this as I regularly get bouts of dry skin when I'm out and about, mainly due to sun, wind and air con and its just not practical to take bottles of moisturiser out and apply them! So when I saw an advert on TV for this I had to try it.
It was about £5 on offer, which initially I thought was quite expensive but having used it I would say the price point is about right and would pay it again.
This product does everything that I expected it to - It relieves feelings of tightness from dry skin, and it does give a nice dewy look as it claims. Also, I have found that it doesn't smudge make up at all which is great. The only possible negative is that sometimes it can feel a little sticky on the skin, although this is only if I use more than one spray so maybe I'm using too much.
Another bonus is the 50ml size means that it can be taken through airport security, as this product is perfect for sorting out dryness from the plane's aircon. Its just a perfect handbag size. Plus, another holiday perk is that as well as moisturising it is incredibly cooling so perfect when you're on the beach! The only thing I can think that would improve it would be if it had an SPF in it (and I dont know if this would even be possible in a spray mist).
I would highly recommend this product, and don't ever want my handbag to be without it!
PRICE: £5.99 for 50ml
PACKAGING: As with all Simple products, it comes in a very natural-looking white box (there's a cut out that displays the product) with green highlights. The bottle itself is clear plastic with green writing, so that also looks very fresh and natural. It looks like it's going to be good for you - and because it's clear, it also looks really refreshing; you want to pick it up and start spraying your face!
INGREDIENTS: 'Aqua, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Methylparaben, Citric Acid, Calcium Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Disodium Phosphate, Sodium Laureth-11Carboxylate , Propylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trideceth-9 , Trideceth-7, Sodium Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Lecithin, Laureth-10, Sodium Citrate, Sorbic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract , Pantolactone.'
WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO: Moisture Boost Hydro Mist is, as the name suggests, a spray mist designed to hydrate dry, tired skin, giving it an instant boost of hydration to leave it feeling soft and dewy. It absorbs instantly and can even be used over makeup. And, as you'd expect from Simple, it's ideal even for sensitive skin.
MY EXPERIENCE: In recent months, I've switched most of my skincare products over to Simple. I was having a bit of trouble with my skin and decided to go back to basics. Simple has been around for 50 years and they're a trusted brand and known for being kind to sink. Better still, they're incredibly reasonable. Their moisturiser is one of the best I've ever used (but I'll save that for another review) and I know that whatever I put on my skin is unlikely to cause a reaction. So when I saw their moisture boost hydro mist, I decided to give it a try.
I really love this product. I keep it on my desk at work and give a spritz whenever my face starts to feel tired, taut or dry. Working in an office environment (with fluctuating temperatures), I usually find that my skin starts to feel uncomfortable after a few hours and this spray is the perfect antidote. You hold it about 20-30cm from your face and spray 3-4 times (eyes closed of course!). I wouldn't say it absorbs instantly, as claimed. It feels a little 'tacky' at first, but it certainly absorbs after a couple of minutes.
I can't say with any accuracy how much this product moisturises my face (it's not the same experience as applying a mosturising cream or lotion and feeling the effect in a more tactile way - you wouldn't touch your face at all after spraying). However, the feeling it gives is incredibly refreshing (and I'm certainly perkier and less tired after using it). My face definitely feels more comfortable afterwards. Also (and this may be the best proof that this is a great product), the guy who sits next to me at work often borrows it! Now men don't use products out of vanity - they use things if they make them feel better; and clearly this does. A moisture spray isn't something you'd use to improve the condition of your skin (there's loads of things out there designed to really moisturise and protect) - you use it because of how it feels. And Simple Moisture Boost Hydro Mist really does feel lovely - a blast of cool, refreshing spray, followed by a more pliable face!
CONCLUSION: The ideal pick me up for skin that's feeling a little unhappy. Perfect for the office and during flights - or any time you need a little boost.
The product is made by simple and claims to give you an instant moisture boost when spraying this onto your face, and can even be used over make up. The misty has a blend of active ingredients and Lotus flower goodness which gives tired, dehydrated skin and instant boost of hydration. The mist absorbs quickly into the skin which refreshes and restores moisture in the face. It states on the packaging that this is suitable for even sensitive skin. The mist contains the following things to help care and look after skin:
* 2 Skin Loving Ingredients: Lotus Flower for optimum hydration
Glycerin hydrates and nourishes
* Vital Vitamins: Pro Vitamin B5 actively restores, softens and smoothes
Vitamin E moisturises to improve skin condition
* No Perfume, No Colour, No unnecessary ingredients and No harsh chemicals: This means it won't upset your skin. This is also dermatologically tested and approved.
I purchased this from boots on a 3 for 2 offer; how-ever it will cost you £5.99 for a 50ml bottle of this. This is the only sized bottle available to buy.
The Hydro mist comes in a clear plastic bottle which has a white pump spray top and a clear plastic cap on top. You can see the liquid inside the bottle which is clear in colour and looks just like water. There may be a few bubbles at the top of the liquid, which is just from where the bottle has been carried about. The bottle comes in cardboard packaging which has the front cut out which is what the bottle sits in. On the front of the cardboard packaging it states that the product is new. On the back you will find all the information about the product and some information about Simple as well. There is a list of ingredients and the address in which you can contact Simple if you need to. It states on the cardboard packaging that the product can be recycled as well at the plastic bottle as well. Although the cardboard packaging seems a bit of a waste, I presume they have packaged the product like this as you can't fit all the information on the bottle as it's only small. Seeing at the bottle only holds 50ml, I think was product was made to fit into hand-bags and small purses so you can give you face a moisture boost when on the move if needed.
***USING THE PRODUCT***
For best results hold 20-30cm away from face and spray 2-4 times. Use with the Kind to Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Cream. Avoid spraying directly into the eyes. (These directions have been taken from the packaging).
I work in an office where the air is always quite dry. Due to the air conditioning and the heating system I often suffer from dry skin. The first time I used this product I had no make up at all. I pulled the plastic cap off the pump spray and pushed down on the pump to spray the mist. When using the spray for the first time you may need to pump it 2-3 times before any mist comes out. I held this away from my face and spray 2-3 times. As the mist sprayed onto my face it felt really cool. I was expecting a slight smell to the mist but it didn't smell of anything at all. The mist certainly cooled down my face and it felt very refreshing. The mist absorbed straight away and my skin felt really smooth and soft. I was surprised at how moisturised it felt considering I had only sprayed the mist just 2-3 minutes ago. I did spray the product with my eyes closed, to avoid any of this going into my eyes. I recommend other people using the spray to do the same.
***SIMILAR PRODUCTS AVALIABLE***
After doing a small bit of re-search on Boots and Superdrug website's, the only other product I can find which is slightly similar to this is Evian facial Spray, these come in larger sized bottles and are cheaper to buy but they just contain Evian water to refresh and moisturise the face. It doesn't contain ingredients such as Lotus Flower or Glycerin.
I loved the way this made my face feel really cool and refreshed. It also moisturised my face really quickly and my skin felt smoother and softer than it did before. For £5.99 I think the spray is quite pricey for the small amount you get in the bottle. I now carry the spray around in my bag, and when my skin is feeling dry I just give my face a spray 2-3 times to make it feel refreshed again. I would buy this product again as I was really pleased with the results, and I feel as though my skin feel's better through-out the day when using this. I would definitely recommend other's to try this fantastic product from Simple.
(review also on ciao)
A short while ago I applied to Simple to take part in a trial of a newly launched product and was delighted to learn that I had been successful when I received a full sized Kind To Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist through the post. Whilst I would regularly use Simple products in my younger days, for some unknown reason I haven't purchased them for many years, so I was eager to try out this facial mist, which claims to deliver an instant boost to tired, dehydrated and dull skin. Unfortunately, I have been suffering with insomnia for approximately nine weeks due to some difficult events in my life and as a result my skin has started to look very tired and has lost some of its' radiance. Consequently, this product could not have arrived at a better time.
~~ APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT ~~
I have always associated Simple as being a gentle and caring brand, particularly as they describe themselves as experts in sensitive skin. The 50 ml transparent plastic bottle was provided in a white coloured box with the familiar green and golden coloured Simple logo and my initial impression of the packaging was calming and reassuring. What I particularly love about the packaging is seven small words, which are "a laugh is a smile that grows". This statement is so very true, as we use more muscles to frown than we do laugh and of course, constant frowning can cause wrinkles in later life.
On the reverse of the box is a little information advising of the benefits of this product where we are advised that the moisture boost contains "a perfect blend of active ingredients and Lotus Flower goodness to give tired, dehydrated and dull skin an instant boost of hydration for natural dewy skin". I'm always quite sceptical with many manufacturers' claims and I found the word "instant" to be quite difficult to believe, as normally products need at least a few days before any real benefits can be witnessed.
~~ USING THE PRODUCT ~~
When using this product for the first time I purposely omitted using my creamy cleanser so I could fully assess the softness of my skin following use and as I had not used cleanser my skin was not feeling totally soft and smooth. I easily removed the pull off plastic lid, which firmly clips back into place and as directed, held the bottle 20 - 30 cm from my face. I pressed the pump four times to dispense the clear fragrance free fine mist of liquid onto my tired skin ensuring that none got into my eyes. As soon as contact was made I experienced a wonderfully cooling sensation and no adverse effects such as burning. Whilst Simple claims that the mist will instantly absorb, I would advise that it is initially a little tacky, particularly on my eyelids, but totally absorbs within approximately five minutes. I had expected the mist to leave a residue, but fortunately, this was not the case.
I was totally amazed at the instant silky softness that was delivered to my skin, as I did not believe that any product could provide sufficient hydration within seconds of application. The huge bonus with this mist is that it can be applied over make-up without causing it to run, which is when I mostly use this product, as I prefer to use my favourite moisturisers when I'm at home. Consequently, this mist is perfect for placing into my handbag and if I am out for the day and feel the need for a moisture boost it can be easily applied. As my mascara is not waterproof I cover my eyes when spraying, as I do not want to risk the appearance of panda eyes.
My skin type is T-zone, but using this product has not caused me to suffer with any greasiness or outbreaks of spots. Another point that I favour with this product is that I am very pale skinned and it is very rare that I have any natural colour, but I am pleased to note that this product definitely delivers a radiant appearance and allows my skin to look naturally healthy. However, I cannot advise that it gave me the 100% dewy appearance that I was hoping for, but I do not blame that on the product, as the only thing that could deliver that to me at this present moment in time would be a miracle!
~~ INGREDIENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION ~~
The product delivers superb softness and moisturisation to my skin due to the lotus flower and glycerine content, which both hydrate. In addition, the mist contains Pro-Vitamin B5, which restores the skin as well as delivering smoothness and softness and Vitamin E to improve the overall condition of the skin. There are further ingredients within the product, but I would advise that it does not contain perfume or alcohol and is very gentle and caring for the skin. The mist has been dermatologically tested and should be used within 12 months of opening with the bottle being suitable for recycling once empty.
~~ PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ~~
Simple Kind to Skin Moisture Boost Hydro Mist is available in Boots at £5.99 and at the time of writing (12 October 2011) you can purchase three products from their entire skincare and body range for the price of two.
As this product delivers high quality results it receives four stars from me and has my full recommendation. It would have received maximum stars had it been able to work miracles on me!
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
