Advantages: cleans, gentle on skin, moisturising so non-drying
Disadvantages: -
I always use a face wash as well as skin wipes to clean my face at the start and end of the day. My skin is fairly sensitive so I try to pick washes that are not too harsh, although I would not say that I was loyal to any product or brand in particular. I am a sucker for a deal so, if it's on offer there's a good chance I'll give it a go. It was exactly for that reason that I purchased this Simple Moisturising facial wash. I purchased a 150ml bottle of this for £2 at Boots, where it currently retails at £3.59, so I thought that this was pretty decent value for money. Incidentally, at the time of writing (19/09/12) Superdrug are running the same offer on this wash.
The wash forms part of the Simple range and I have previously used some of their products and found them to be of a good quality and kind to my skin - so I was reassured that this wash would be too. The was comes in a squeezy bottle as pictured above. The cap on the bottom can be flipped and the wash squeezed out. The bottle is easy to squeeze but durable too so it keeps it's shape and form well.
The wash is soap free and pH balanced. It is also perfume and colour free - so I would say this should be suitable for most skin types. It is a rich creamy texture and foams up well with only a dash of water. It feels gentle on the skin and almost creamy, although it rinses off easily. After rinsing, my skin feels clean but not dry or tight like it can with other washes - the moisturising properties of this face wash are very effective. I still need to apply a moisturiser too, but I am not left in absolute need of moisturisation like I can be after washing my face so if I forget/run out of time it is not an issue.
Overall, I would say that I have had a lot of value for my £2 and I certainly wouldn't begrudge paying the full rrp for this one (but I may be heading to Superdrug in the near future to stock up!). I have found the wash to be very effective and also caring for my skin too. Recommended highly.
Summary: kind, gentle face wash
