~ ABOUT THE PRODUCT ~
This product is made by Simple, who many of you have probably heard of by now from reading reviews and also from seeing their products in your local Boots store or supermarket. Simple make a large range of beauty products which includes moisturisers, cleansers, facial wipes and other products. All their products contain no perfume, No colour and no harsh or unnecessary chemicals, so it won't upset skin and is perfect for people with sensitive skin. The make-up remover cream claims to remove even waterproof mascara and helps to moisturise the delicate eye area. It states that the product is perfect for people with sensitive skin. I often use the Simple facial wipes, how-ever sometimes I just need to remove make-up from my eye's so I thought I would give this product a go seeing as I am a huge fan of their other products and have now been using their facial wipes, cleansing lotion and toner for over 6 years now.
~ PACKAGING ~
The make-up remover cream comes in a long, flat tube which is white in colour and has a green lid. The tube/bottle is made from strong plastic but can be easily squeezed to dispense some of the remover cream. On the front of the packaging it states that it has vitamin goodness for naturally healthy skin. On the back of the tube/bottle there is a list of ingredients and how to use the product. The tube/bottle stands on the lid and holds 100ml of make-up remover cream. The lid comes off easily by pulling it off or twisting it to one side slightly.
~ USING THE PRODUCT ~
I am actually testing the product on the make-up I tend to wear regularly which is black eyeliner (pencil) and black mascara which I think is waterproof. I took the lid off by twisting it slightly to the side. This revealed a long neck to the bottle/tube which has a small hole at the end of it, in which the cream comes out of. It states on the back of the bottle to apply the cream to cotton wool and wipe gently around the eye area. I like to use the Boots cosmetic pads when using this product. I squeezed the tube gently and dispensed a small amount of cream onto the pad. The cream came out quite easily and was a little thicker than I expected. The cream is white in colour and has no smell to it. I used another cotton wool pad to gently rub the cream around on the pad, rather than it being in once place. I could then use 2 pads to help remove the make-up. I took the first pad and started to gently wipe my eye and the area surrounding it. The cream was cold around my eyes, but it felt soothing and gentle.
After wiping my eyes and the area around it I looked at the pad and sure enough there was plenty of black make up on the pad. How-ever there was also still a fair bit around my eyes, so I started to use the other pad to remove the remainder of the make-up. I did have to rub my eyes a bit harder to remove the mascara; how-ever this did come off in the end after using at least 2 pads on each eye. I often suffer from dry, irritated eyes and wasn't sure how the skin around my eyes would react to the cream, how-ever I was pleased to find that it didn't cause any redness or irritation. The skin around my eyes looked and felt moisturised and slightly brighter too.
~ PRICE/AVALIABILITY ~
You can purchase this item from stores such as Boots, Superdrug and some local supermarkets. Prices may vary and different shops may have different offers on at different times. Quite often this is on offer in boots on 3 for 3 on skincare products. I purchased this from boots on its own with no offer and it cost me £3.99
~ OVERALL OPINION ~
This is another great product from Simple which lives up to its claims and hasn't let me down. The make-up remover cream is gentle to my eyes without causing any irritation or dryness. You do need to rub a little harder to remove mascara and you will need to use more than one cotton wool pad, how-ever it does comes off using the remover cream and leaves your eyes moisturised and free from make-up. I don't use this product every day as I sometimes use Simple facial wipes, how-ever I do like to take this with me on holiday as the bottle is small and it's convenient to pop in my bag or small suitcase. I give the product 5 out of 5 stars as it does exactly what it claims to do and is kind to my skin.
