Advantages: Works well, leaves skin feeling soft, doesn't irritate sensitive skin.

Disadvantages: Can feel it on skin after use.

While I prefer to use a foaming face wash, I also like to keep a cleansing lotion around for days when my skin feels very dry and sensitive, as I find cleansing lotions to be more gentle on my skin than foaming face washes. As my Clean & Clear cream wash was almost finished, on a recent trip to Boots I picked this cleansing lotion up.

What Simple Says
Our Purifying Cleansing Lotion is a perfect blend of ingredients to gently cleanse drier skin to help keep it smooth and softened. Perfect for even sensitive skin. Our special blend of Simple cleansing goodness containing Pro-Vitamin B5, Bisabolol and Allantoin, helps to soften and gently cleanse the skin.
No perfume, no colour. No unnecessary ingredients so it won't upset your skin. Dermatologically tested and approved.

Packaging
The cleansing lotion comes in a standard Simple bottle-opaque white bottle with a green screw on lid. Once you remove the lid, there is a small hole through which the lotion is dispensed. There are two problems that I have with this packaging: Firstly, it is not possible to see how much of the product you have used up/have left. Secondly, since the bottle is upright and doesn't rest on its lid, it's difficult to get the product out of the bottle when you don't have much left. The bottle is quite simple and nothing fancy.

The Cleansing Lotion
The consistency of the lotion is different from what I expected-I was expecting a somewhat thick, creamy lotion, but the lotion is actually quite runny, so you do have to be careful when dispensing to make sure you don't dispense too much. To use, I just squeeze some onto a cotton pad and then wipe over my face. After that I apply toner to get the remains of the cream off of my face. It removes make-up very effectively, and you can see your make-up come off onto the cotton pad. The one problem I have with this cleansing lotion is that I can feel it on my skin after use, which is not the case with regular face washes that you rinse off, and so my skin doesn't feel 100% clean and almost feels greasy. However, that probably is not the case as I have not had any breakouts while using this. It doesn't dry my skin out like foaming face washes sometimes do. In fact, my skin feels quite soft after using this.

Price and Availability
The 200 ml bottle can be bought at most supermarkets and chemists, and I bought mine from Boots where it is currently retailing for £2.99 and is also on a 3 for 2 offer.

Final Word
I do like this cleansing lotion and I would purchase it again as it does a good job of cleaning my skin without drying it out, and hasn't irritated my sensitive skin. It also removes make-up really well. I don't really like the way my skin feels after using this, but this is just a personal thing, and other people might not feel this way. The price is quite reasonable, and the product is occasionally on offer. Bottom line is, it works well so I would recommend it.

Summary: A good cleanser for those with dry, sensitive skin.
