I feel I am quite lucky in the respect of my face, with it not seeming to age as quickly as others (my hubby says his is due to me, but I can't believe it!).
I have always had problem skin however, though I do remember reading that greasy or combination skin ages less quickly than dry skin, with the oils making the skin more supple, I suppose it makes up for years of looking like a witch with a wart on my nose or chin!
I am now well into my 30's though, and after perusing al the wonderful looking creams, lotions and potions in Superdrug one day, I decided to bite the bullet and try one to see if it really is the elixir of life!
The one I decided upon was bought for two reasons, one being the fact it contained no perfumes or colours (a no no for my skin!) and the fact it was considerably cheaper than the others on offer, come on, if I can look younger for cheaper why wouldn't you!
The product in question is - "Simple - repair anti wrinkle day cream, with sunscreens".
The product comes in it's own sturdy looking glass jar with screwlid, a pretty generic looking cream.
This product claims to contain 6 skin loving nutrients,
Iris extract - reduces fine lines and wrinkles in just 4 weeks.
Mushroom extract - refines and improves skin tone and texture.
Seaweed extract - reduces sensitivity, protects and maintains skin's natural balance.
Black oat, lecithin and glycerin - hydrates, replenishes and repairs.
2 vital vitamins,
Pro-vitamin B5 - actively restores, softens and smoothes.
Vitamin E - moisturises to improve skin condition. (All information taken from the packaging).
The product also states that when your skin is feeling and looking healthy, you in turn will feel happier and healthier too!
The cream itself is white and not as thick as I was expecting, being a slightly runnier version of my normal cream.
As aid before there is no scent added to this product, but it does have a unique smell to it, a bit like a subtle fresh smell, very pleasant.
I found that a small dab on my finger was more than enough for my face and neck area, I rubbed it in as instructed to, by using upwards and outwards hand movements on cleansed skin.
It is not really suitable for use on the eye's but caused no irritation to them, I find if I am told not to do it I always end up (inadvertently anyway!) doing it!
The cream was very light and dried incredibly fast, leaving it with the feeling that talc had been put on, incredibly soft too.
There was no irritation to my skin, and my spots were not aggravated, though In fairness they didn't get any better either!
Now for the important bit, skin quality!
This did make my skin feel nice, and was left moisturised making a much better base for my foundation, but as for the reduction of fine line's , I can honestly say I saw any difference at all.
It states on the box that you should see the difference in 4 weeks, the good thing with this cream is it lasted me around 5-6 weeks, with daily use, so I have been able to gauge the difference in my skin without having to fork out for more cream!
To me this is just a nice day cream, that didn't really need to be advertised as an anti wrinkle cream, as it stands on it's own being a really good face cream.
Price wise this is available from www.amazon.co.uk for around £7.00 a jar.
