Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer
Advantages: Leaves me skin feeling the best it's ever felt!
Disadvantages: It feels quite heavy which I don't mind but may cause problems for other people.
It's only been within the last three months or so that I've gotten into the whole moisturising thing. I always thought my skin felt fine and saw no point in spending money on products to make it softer. It wasn't until I tried a moisturiser of my Mother's which smelt lovely that I realised just how much room for improvement my skin had. Since then I've become a little addicted to making my skin feel as soft as possible!
I didn't, however, start using moisturiser on my face until a couple of weeks ago. The skin on my face is ridiculously sensitive and I'm often too scared to apply creams and lotions to this area as I'll normally look like I belong on the burns unit of my local hospital when I do. After finding my new love, the Simple range, I decided I'd give their moisturiser a go.
Simple only use natural ingredients meaning their products are perfectly safe for even the most sensitive of skin. I've used a number of their products in the past and found their claims to be true as I've never had a reaction to any of their products.
Many of the Simple products are currently on offer in Asda for £2, this 125ml bottle of moisturiser included. I think its normal price is around £3 and the range is widely available in most supermarkets as well as Boots and Superdrug.
The moisturiser comes in a box which has the usual white and green colour scheme and gives you all the information you need on the product. The box tells us this moisturiser contains pro-vitamin B5 which 'actively restores, softens and smoothes' your skin. It also tells us that it contains Three 'skin loving nutrients' which are glycerin (used to hydrate and nourish skin for twelve hours), bisabolol (which soothes and calms skin) and allantoin (this ones softens and protects the skin).
The box also contains directions on how to apply the moisturiser and a full list of ingredients.
The product isn't just kind to sensitive skin either. It's also kind to animals (none of the ingredients in this product are animal derived) and kind to the environment (the box is produced from renewed forests and is recyclable).
When you open the box you're left with the actual bottle of moisturiser which looks pretty much the same as the box and contains all the same information. The box is actually pretty pointless come to think of it! The bottle lid is a simple flip top one and turning the bottle upside and giving it a gentle squeeze will allow the moisturiser to flow onto your finger tip.
The moisturiser itself is white in colour and doesn't really have a smell to it at all. It's a nice consistency, not too thick and not too runny which allows my skin to absorb is it easily and quickly.
To apply simply rub in a pea sized blob of moisturiser to your face and neck area.
I do find that for about a minute after applying this moisturiser my skin feels a little tight, nothing too uncomfortable but still noticeable. Although the tightness only lasts for a short amount of time I do think this is quite a heavy moisturiser and I couldn't imagine myself applying it before bed (for that I use Simple hydrating light moisturiser but that's another review for another day).
It does, however, leave the skin on my face feeling the softest it's ever felt and I really don't know how I managed to go so long without it. The box says this will moisturise skin for twelve hours which I feel is accurate. When I apply this in the morning my skin still feels soft and smooth that night. I've also noticed my liquid foundation seems to smooth over my face a lot easier when I've applied this moisturiser before hand.
I love this product and shall continue to use it even when it goes back to full price!
Summary: A great moisturiser which really does work without causing any irritation to my skin!
