I am a huge fan of the Simple range and have been a devoted user of their products for many years now. A while back, I started to use a night moisturizer but then it disappeared from the shelves and took my evening routine with it. (Something that seems to happen from time to time with the Simple line!) When I spotted this little gem on offer in Asda a few weeks back I picked up a pot and headed straight for the check out! I cleanse - tone - moisturize twice a day - every day, but my day moisturizers where not ideal for evening use. I think it cost me around £3 - £4 for the 50ml tub, another Simple bargain. Simple's 'kind to skin' vital vitamin night cream boasts 3 vital vitamins and 3 skin loving nutrients. It comes in a 50ml white plastic tub with green screw top lid and when lined up next to all my other Simple products, looks rather pretty on the shelf. It sets out to restore and replenish your day-damaged skin over night and will be delicate on the most sensitive of skins. I would suggest trying a test patch of the cream behind your ear before using it full on all over your face just incase of a bad reaction! I have quite oily skin, especially around the t-zone area and this cream does tend to leave my skin feeling greasier around those problem areas. I apply it just before I go to bed so the feeling is less likely to bother me as much as it would if it was a day cream. After my cleanse and tone routines, I allow my skin to completely dry before applying a small about of the cream. Apply in large, circular motions, going outwards and upwards across the skin. I also apply it to my neck in upwards sweeping motions. It does not appear to have made my skin any oilier than it was prior to using the product. Instantly my skin has felt smoother and fresher from using this product and I have had zero side effects. I use it every night but do not have dry skin so could probably use it every other night and still get good results. I know several people who suffer with dry skin on their face and have used this on a nightly basis and seen wonderful results. Note that I use this product along with other Simple products (face wash, toner etc) and believe that they all will and do work in harmony with one another. I would love to be able to buy this product in a larger tub. The 50ml will last a long time but Im the kind of girl who likes to buy in bulk for a greater saving. Asda, Tesco and Boots tend to have offers on the majority of the Simple range from time to time, more so in Boots so keep an eye out to make this bargain beauty buy even more of a bargain!
My skin has been playing up a little recently and so I've had to increase the amount of spot treatment type products I've been using. Although this deals with breakouts effectively, it also dries my skin quite badly and my regular moisturiser just doesn't cut it. So, whilst in Boots recently I went on a hunt for a deep, replenishing moisturiser which wouldn't be too rich for my sensitive skin. I wanted something thick and creamy and decided on Simple's "Restoring Night Cream" as I get along with, and love the results of their other products. During the night the skin needs time to recover and this product is enhanced with essential vitamins to 'replenish and repair for softer, smoother skin.' Active ingredients include; Vitamin E to moisturise and improve the skins condition; Borage Seed Oil to renew and regenerate and Pro Vitamin B5 to restore soften and smooth. It is dermatologically tested and aproved with no perfume or colour, so is great for sensitive skins. It is also PH Balanced to work in harmony with your skin as are most of Simples products. It retails for around £6.45 for 50mls and has a shelf life of 12 months. Simples 'Restoring Night Cream' is packaged in a small white tub with a green screw top lid. Instructions for use are printed on the tub so you don't need to keep the cardboard packaging if you don't want too - though moisturisers are fairly self explanatory anyway. The cream itself is rich and very thick - it doesn't budge even if turned upside down. It doesn't however feel overly emolient or greasy which is always a bonus for me. I apply at night - every other day - after cleansing and exfoliating, massaging into my skin in upwards, circular motions. Although it is not greasy feeling, I don't pay too much attention to my nose or the sides of it, as those are the areas of my face which tend to get the oiliest by themselves. I concentrate mainly on my cheeks and around my mouth as those are the driest patches, applying it quite thickly in layers. It absorbs fairly quickly and doesn't leave any residue on my skin. After use, my skin feels softer and more 'cushioney' and with a few uses all dry patches are erased and soft, plush skin is left behind. Some mornings however my skin will appear very slightly greasy - probably due to my natural oils mixing with this product in my sleep. No problem though as my regular face wash and toner remove this instantly and my skin feels fresh again. I think this is to be expected sometimes too - after all night creams need to be thick and rich to do their jobs. My skin has been a lot better since finding this product. I still use my regular, more lotion-y Simple moisturisers during the day but this one is brilliant for overnight. Any dry patches on my skin have gone and it hasn't affected any pimples I may have either. Great stuff! Easy to use, from a reliable brand and great value for money too. I definately recommend this cream for any skin type looking for a little moisture boost.
