I have strange skin! In my late 20's I am still struggling with bad skin and nothing I seem to do or buy or advice I read works. I have used lots of different facial scrubs, cleaners, masks and creams and nothing I have used has had a noticeable difference. I am currently using this Simple Smoothing Cleansing Facial Scrub - don't be put off by the word scrub, it has very fine pieces in it meaning the scrub isn't as harsh or "violent" on the skin as other scrubs which contain large pieces that tend to scratch the skin. Following the instructions on the bottle, I feel as though the scrub does clean my face, however after use my face is quite dry and I usually have to moisturise - here lies my biggest problem. I have bad dry skin and spots and I do use a concealer stick sometimes if they are bad because I don't want them to all be visible! So after I wash my face I do have to moisturise to get rid of the dryness - I believe this then causes more irritation for my skin and then I need to wash it at the end of the day to remove the greasy feeling - then its dry again and thus the circle continues! I use the product each night to remove the days dirt and grease - using it once a day the bottle tends to last for about 4-5 months so when you consider the bottle cost me £3 it doesn't sound too bad. I don't want you to be put off buying the product based on my experience - but if you have skin like mine then it may not be suitable. To summarise: after use my skin feels soft, fresh and clean - but having dry skin I have to moisturise afterwards unless I want dry patches of skin visible on my face (I don't!). Then throughout the day my moisturised face tends to feel greasy and needs washing again using the product. This produt contains Vitamins which help to moisturise the skin and make it feel soft, I can vouch for their presence and the fact they really work. My hope one day is that I find a face wash that helps reduce the number of spots I have, or get rid of them completely. I give this product 4 stars because I feel it would work if my skin type weren't so bad.
Introduction: I have tried so many different facial washes and so many have failed. I like trying good value washes as I get through a lot. I have used many Simple products and got along with them well. Recently this was on offer in a shop called savers in my local town. It had a reduced sticker on it which made me want to give it a try. SImple products are meant to be good for your skin and also good for sensitive skin types. I will now go into a little more detail on the product and explain why I think you should buy it. Price/Bottle: I picked up a bottle for £2, yet this usally retails at £3. It is priced closley to other products on the shelf, but this bottle is only 75ml. It is half the size of other bottles which makes the value of this product bad. I think they need to increase there bottle size to make it competitive with other brands. The bottle does look nice and fits in with the other simple products I have owned. The bottle is made of soft squuezable plastic. It is designed to be stood upside down so there is always some face wash to squeeze out. The bottle does not look too girly and can be used by men and women. I dont feel too ashamed to put this in my basket on a shop! Did it work?: I squeeze a small amount onto the end of my fingers and work over my face, the exfoliating feel is very soft, yet you know it is rubbing away the dirt under your skin. The smell of the product is different to others I have tried. I like the fresh scent. This is very easy to cover your whole face with. Its not too soapy, yet it does lather up a bit. When I wash it off my face I can feel very clean and it is also easy to wash off. I like to use warm water which opens up my pores. After using this I can see a visible difference in mirror, my face does look brighter. I have been using this for a month and my skin is much better, I definately have less spots and I feel fresh after using this. I tend to use this every morning, and some evenings. I find it has really worked for me. Overall: It may be expensive, but if you have bad skin and you need a good face wash I would definately recommend you give this a try. I have seen this on offer occasionaly so keep your eyes peeled. I was lucky to get this cheap. You only need a small amount to clean your face which means a bottle will last you a while. I am giving this a 4 star rating as it is brilliant, yet the price puts me off getting this again. I will be waiting for it to go on offer. Thanks for reading my review, I hope it helped you out. I have reviewed Simple products before and I really do like this range. Although I love my gorgeous fruity smelling products in shower gels and body butters, I also favour very plain, wholesome products for my skin as well. This range is great for those with sensitive skin and is recommended for people who don't like rich face products. Plus it is a very reasonably priced range which also helps! This is a facial wash which acts as an exfoliator and I really think it is a good product. The tube stands upside down so it is very easy to get the product out. The tube is a white plastic material which you can just about see through so you know how much is left inside. It has green writing on the front of it, the same as all the other Simple products. There is a flip top lid that you open to squeeze the cream out of it. The cream is a fairly runny consistency and is a bright white colour. It has grainy particles in it which help exfoliate your skin and when you rub it into your face you can really feel the grains working as they lift off any dirt on your skin. You don't need to use much of it as it spreads quite far so be careful when you squeeze it in to your hand as you might not use all that you squeeze out. After washing it off your face the skin should feel much smoother and will be much cleaner although this is not really visible. I like the way you can feel the softness though as you feel like the product really works. This range is so reasonably priced and is available in most chemists and supermarkets. It currently costs £3.99 for 75ml which when compared to other facial scrubs in different ranges is an absolute bargain. I would definitely recommend this product.
I bought this product a while ago when I felt exfoliation was missing from my facial routi e. I was attracted to this product, firstly because it was cheap and I have had positive experiences with simple products in the past. The product is packaged functionally in a sleek green tube which sits on the li, making the product easy to squeeze out. The lid snaps shut and I have had to product escaping at inconvenient moments. It claims to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin bright. It is recommended to be used once a week for normal or dry skin and twice a week for oily skin. have dry skin so apply once a week and have been pleased with the result. I apply a small amount to my finger tips and rub on in circular motions. It needs to be washed off after application and I find it easiest to apply in the shower for easy wash off. The product itself is White in colour and contains small rice granules which feel effective in removing dead skin. It has no scent as advertised on the bottle. I enjoy the way it feels when I put it on my skin, I feel like I am removing the bad stuff with a nice product. Since I have been using it I have noticed less dry patches on my skin. I have also had no adverse reaction to the product. I would recommend this product to a friend.
Another great product from simple. I own a lot of simple products because I think they are the best when it comes to looking after your skin and body. This simple product is kind to the skin and is a smoothing facial rub. It is full of vitamin goodness for naturally healty skin. It has two vital vitamins and one skin loving exfoliator and has no perfume and no colour as natural and simple as you get. This rub is perfect for sensitive skin a smoothing facial scrub with its blend of active ingreidents and vitamin goodness to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin brigter and smoother and also textured. This product can be bought in boots or even check out the simple website. It is a 75ml tube of great rich facial scrub. It has pro-vitamin b5 in the scrub which actively restores softens and smooths also another great ingriedient vitamin e that moisturies to improve skin condition. I love after using this scrub your skin feels more clean and is able to breath better. I love the wee bits in it getting to work on the dead cells and also the bacteria I would be lost without this scrub.
I have found Simple skincare products very effective in the past for my sensitive skin, I now trust them to provide me with a product that won't irritate my skin but is still capable of doing its job. This product however let me down, luckily it didn't irritate my skin but it just didn't do the job I was hoping it would. Facial scrubs should supposedly exfoliate by removing dead skin cells, in my opinion however this product does not. It has a surprisingly thin texture for a scrub and feels more like a lotion with tiny grains in it. Unfortunately these grains weren't common enough in the scrub to do a great job of exfoliating yet thankfully they weren't too big and so did not feel scratchy. As I have already said, this product felt surprisingly like a lotion, therefore the liquid part of the scrub seemed to just be absorbed by my skin leaving a couple of grains behind. Following the instructions on the packaging I washed off the scrub with plenty of water, after doing this it left my skin feeling very clean. Because of this I think the product could serve well as an exfoliating cleanser. I didn't like the smell of this product at all, it reminded me of soap you would find in a school toilet; not very pleasant and very chemicaly. Overall you might find this product is great as an everyday cleanser with light exfoliation, but for me it wasn't what I wanted.
I use Simple cleanser and toner on a regular basis and think that these two products are great (especially for the price!) However, I must say that this cleansing facial scrub was quite a disappointing and I probably wouldn't buy this product again. The scrub had a very watery consistency so most of it seemed to go down the plug hole before it got on my face. Due to this consistency when actually using the scrub it didn't feel that effective as there didn't seem to be many granules to do the real scrubbing! It felt more like a facial wash which happened to have a few grains in it rather than an effective scrub. After using it I didn't notice any real difference on my skin, aside from it looking a bit cleaner, it certainly didn't reveal any radiance as other scrubs can do. Disappointingly it also had a very soapy smell which is quite unusual for simple products as they normal don't have such a chemically smell (hence the name Simple). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective facial scrub.
I must say I have abit of a think for Simple products as I have quite problem skin and do not like to use to many products with harsh chemicals in on my skin. I use this product about once a week give or take and think it is fab. I use the facial wash first and then this product followed by their light hydrating moistoriser. The product itself is very good, it feels like it cleans deep down whilst removing dead skin on top without that feeling like you have scrubbed half your face away though sometimes something more exfoliating may be needed, but with regular use this would maybe be avioded. Advantages: * Cheap * Does what it says on the bottle without being to harsh * Good size tube * Kind to sensitive skin Disadvantages: * Sometimes I feel like I do need something more abrasive but then you can use this product more than once a week if needed. * It smells ok but could be better.
I'm trying to be good with my spending at the moment, and am only buying new beauty products when I've ran out of something - which isn't very often considering how much stuff I own! I did, however run out of face scrub recently, so was looking for a new one that wouldn't cost the earth. My first choice of shop would have been Boots, however due to the hours I was working I couldn't get there, so I ordered one along with my online shop from ASDA. Unfortunately there was not a huge amount of choice, and I ended up opting for the Simple scrub merely because it was the cheapest one available. I must admit, it's years since I used Simple skin care products, however I did like their wipe off cleanser and toner, so I had hoped this would be just as good. Simple's products are not perfumed or coloured so therefore suitable for sensitive skin, and this one contains Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5 to soften, smooth and moisturise the skin. The packaging of this product for me was a little plain and boring. It comes in a lime green squeezy tube and despite the bright colour, I don't think there's anything about it that would attract me to buying it if I saw it on the shelf in a shop. At the end of the day though, the tube is functional which is the main thing, and I don't suppose I should expect too much from such a cheap product anyway. On squeezing the scrub out of the tube, I must admit I found the consistency rather surprising. It's very hard to describe, and I have been trying and failing to think of a good way to put across what it is like. I suppose it's almost a little jelly like and is a bright white colour. In fact, as disgusting as this sounds it almost reminds me of when you soft boil an egg but don't quite cook it for long enough and some of the white is only half-set! I know that's an awful way to describe it, but it's the best I can think of - it's very strange!! Although the scrub is perfume-free it does have quite a citrus type smell to it, which I assume must come naturally from whatever ingredients this contains. Being a Simple product, designed for sensitive skin, I hadn't expected that there would be many grains in this - in other words I expected it to be completely gentle. Personally I like the feeling of lots of grains, even if that's not particularly the best thing for my skin. I found that there were just the right amount of grains in this (which are rice grains by the way) and whilst they didn't particularly feel harsh on my skin, they did feel like they were exfoliating. The result, when rinsing this away, was soft, clean and smooth skin. It exfoliates effectively, getting rid of the dry, flaky patches I often get between my brows and around my cheeks. It doesn't dry out my skin either, and in fact leaves it feeling supple and hydrated, a nice change from the face scrubs which make my skin feel very tight. The price of this, like most things, will vary depending on where you shop. Both Boots and Superdrug charge £3.91, but I got mine from ASDA for just £2.91, so I'd advise trying there. The scrub comes in a 75ml tube, which is quite small, however I have managed to get a good amount of uses from it so far, as only a small amount is needed. So in conclusion, I'm very pleased with this product. It's kind to the skin and a great exfoliator, and a bargain price too!
I had never used Simple products on a long term basis before trying their Smoothing Cleansing Facial Scrub. It was quite cheap, retailing at about £2.99 for about 150ml. To be honest I wasn't holding too much hope for the product, it was just something which I picked up because I had run out of my usual facial scrub - 'Lush's Ocean Salt', and I needed a quick replacement. Wow! What a bargain beauty essential! I reccommend this not only for my fellow ladies, but for the blokes also! This scrub does not have a strong scent (so boys, you won't be smelling like a girl!), and it is not like one of those facial scrubs which takes all your skin off, or one that hardly does anything, it has the perfect balance of 'scrubbiness'! It says on the tube to be used only once a week (and twice if you have very oily skin). It is specially for sensitive skin and contains pro-vitamin B5 which smoothes the skin, it's PH balanced and also soap free! A little goes a long way, so you won't have to be running down to the shops for a restock every week. Like I say my normal facial scrub is from Lush, but it costs around £15! This feels like it moisturises my skin also, so it's far better value!
Yet again another simple review, but I love their products and want people to try them, as they are so good to your skin and a god send if you have sensitive skin. This scrub is a facial wash but has an exfoliant in it and this helps to remove scrub to remove dead cells and impurities and leaves skin much smoother and more evenly balanced. The scrub shouldnt really be used more than a couple of times a week because it could aggrevate skin if used too much. The exfoliant is really gentle on skin though and has tiny micro beads which help to lift up dirt from pores and clean deep down. This scrub like all other simple products has vitamin e to moisturise skin and protein b5 to soothe and nourish skin, and as always is perfume and colour free. It comes in quite a small tube, but you only need a small amount applied to damp skin, and gently massage into the skin, into all areas, avoiding the eyes, nose and mouth though. Because you only need to use this once or twice a week, it will last a long time, and you will really see the benefits
'Simple' is a skincare brand I have come to trust. Rarely let down by their products, this consistency in quality is what has led me to use their cleansers, toners and moisturisers on a daily basis. As with any skincare products, after a while and with no exfoliation the skin can become congested and the pores clogged - so when I realised I needed to find a nice, large 'grained' exfoliatior, where do you think I looked first? :-) Simples 'Smoothing Cleansing Scrub' claims to act as a 'regular detox to remove dead skin cells and impurities'. Essential for fresh, healthy skin, this product uses rice granules - a natural, gentle exfoliator to reveal brighter, more even toned skin. It contains Vitamin E, known for it's skin healing properties, to moisturise and improve the skins condition. PH Balanced and with no added colour or perfume (though it does have a strong, oat-like scent) it works in harmony with your skin. It does not strip or dry the skin and is suitable for all skin types - even the most sensitive of us :-) It costs just £3.90 for 75ml and is packaged in a small, green, easy to use squeeze tube. No complaints there! I use this product once or twice a week only - any more and you risk aggravating your skin too much - Simple recommend using once weekly on normal to dry skin and twice on more oily types. I apply a small amount to my skin after cleansing and whilst it's still damp. Using gentle circular motions I massage the product all over the face, making sure I don't rub too hard to get too close to the eye area. Once rinsed, I pat dry and follow with moisturiser (which absorbs into the skin a lot easier and quicker after exfoliating). Besides the moisturiser absorbing a lot better following the 'Smoothing Cleansing Scrub', my skin feels much smoother, softer and deeply cleansed. Makeup applies more evenly, with no flakiness or dry patches. This product has really improved the texture and appearance of my facial skin - even with only using it once a week or so. Definately one of the best exfoliators I have tried. The granules are just the right size and shape to clean the pores sufficiently - Without hurting or stinging the skin at all. What more can I say? We all know what an exfoliator is for and how it works... So, if you're looking for a gentle, yet effective scrub from a brand you can trust - look no further, the product for you may be right here :-)
