Similar to the face wipes i use, I also use Simple Facial Toner. I bought this Toner for £2 when on offer in Asda but can be bought in other retailers e.g. superdrug/boots etc for around £3.79. It comes in an opaque green 200ml bottle, and I use it by applying a small amount on a cotton pad and then applying to my face to help feel rejuvenated! I am a big fan of the simple range and these are my Top 5 reasons for using this particular product: - It's soothing & does everything the bottle & advertisements state. Containing pro-vitamin B5,and allantoin which combined are strong ingredients for skin hydration, and improves healing of wounds on the skin. It also contains chamomile which is ideal for helping skin to feel toned and refreshed. - It has no artificial; colours, perfumes nor additives. Which is a key factor for people who do not/ cannot use products containing such things. - It is the second key essential in my entire facial regime. This entails having to use upward strokes especially to tighten the skin - which will obviously reduce risks of wrinkles! - I used to have eczema so personally I have quite sensitive skin & this product doesn't irritate me at all. It actually makes it feel a lot better & i find when i use it first thing in the morning & last thing at night; my skin feels much cooler & fresher. - Simple Facial Toner is highly affordable at any local supermarket or pharmaceutical retailer. Good to look for it on offer and you'll grab a good bargain!
~What they say~ Our soothing toner is a perfect blend of active ingredients and vitamin goodness to keep you skin clarified and refreshed. Perfect for even sensitive skin ~Ingredients~ Pro-Vitamin B5 - restores, softens and smoothes Chamomile - Gently softens and smoothes Witch Hazel - help tone and tighten pores Allantonin - softens and protects ~Cost~ I bought this in a 3 for 2 deal in boots (with boots points) I think its around £3.50 normally for 200ml and i've seen in Superdrug, Asda and Tesco's ~Directions~ Pour on to cotton wool and wipe over you skin in an upward motion. They suggest following up with a Simple mosituriser. ~My Review~ I decided after turning a certain age and enrolling as a film and Tv Extra I better start looking after myself, I'm fortunate enough not to look my age but who knows how that would last for! I decided on simple because of their ad campaign about no harsh chemicals as I wouldn't say i had sensitive skin but I have found after having a facial at a spa my skin just flakes off! So I used make up remover wipes, washed my face and used simple cleansing lotion then I moved on to the toner. Having never used toner before I was surprised to see it was just like water! it shoots out fast and a little seems to go a long way. It was really easy to use and left my skin feeling very refreshed and clean. I think its a good product to use as part of a routine, I have used it as advised with other Simple products and I have to say my skin is looking really good and I'm not breaking out in spots no matter how much make up im caked in day after day. It does take time so if its late I have just used the make up wipes but I'd recommend this product its lasted ages.
This came in a gift set with the cleanser and moisturiser. Separately it costs £3.25 in Boots for a 200ml bottle. The toner is designed to be used after the Simple cleanser to remove any cleanser left on your face and to tighten your pores. It also contains pro-vitamin B5 and witch hazel which is good for toning skin and also preventing blocked pores which can lead to blemishes. The good thing about this toner is it is 100% alcohol free so it is great for sensitive skins as it won't dry out your skin. To use the toner you need to apply generously to cotton wool and gently sweep over your face in outward motions. The toner does come out of the bottle fast so you do need to be careful when applying it to the cotton wool. Even though it was described as fragrance free I did notice a subtle fragrance to it which was pleasant. The toner didn't sting my skin when applied. In the past if I have used a toner with alcohol it has irritated my skin, this one didn't. It removed all traces of the cleanser left on my skin without leaving it feeling tight or irritated. You only need to use a small amount of this so a bottle would last a while. After using this my skin felt clean and toned. It looked healthy and I wasn't left with any residue from the cleanser. I would recommend this to go with the cleanser as it is ideal particularly if you have dry and sensitive skin like mine. I would give this 5 out of 5.
I recently wanted smoother and softer face so I was looking around Asda in the face cream/wipes section and came across 'Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion'. You might of read my review on it. Well anyway, it said on the bottle for best results follow with 'Simple Soothing Facial Toner'. So I have gone out and bought some. It was only £2 for a 200ml bottle. I bought it from Asda, I believe its a similar price in most supermarkets. Its in a green see-through bottle and looks quite similar to the cleansing lotion. I'm really loving 'Simple' the brand! Because of how much it stresses that their products have no unnecessary perfumes or chemicals. Their products contain vitamins and nutrients. So as I said, I use the cleansing lotion which I really recommend. I now use this afterwards. I get a cotton wool wipe thing and put the product on it. Its not a cream, its a runny lotion almost llike water. I rub it all around my face. It feels quite nice on my face because its quite refreshing. Straight away after, it feels like there is a thin layered mask on my face which feels like its tightening my skin. I then let it dry. The cotton wool wipes I use are from Asda, £1 for a huge pack! I've been using it for a few days now every morning and night. To be honest I dont notice the difference of using this. With the cleansing lotion I noticed a huge difference but feel like if I didnt use this it wouldnt really make any difference. I do think it feels nice but I think I'll probably not buy it again. Unless by the end of the bottle I notice some sort of good change. On the back of the bottle it says that it contains 1 vital vitamin which is Pro Vitamin B5, which restores, softens and smoothes. The bottle also contains "skin loving" nutrients. Chamomile, which gently softens and smoothes. Witch Hazel, which helps tighten and tone pores. Allantion, which softens and protects. This product is dermatologically tested and approved. This facial toner is also 100% alcohol free! The bottle says on the back "For the best result: Apply generously to cotton wool and wipe in gentle upward movements over skin morning and night. Follow with our 'Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser'". So once again I have bought the next product to go with this one. I will start using it today and write about it in a few days. For ingredients go to Simple.co.uk
There was a time when I would scoff at anyone who said they had a 'daily skin routine'. I didn't see the point in applying all of these lotions and potions on one's face thus never bothered with anything other than a bit of face wash in the shower and a baby wipe morning and night. How silly I was being! After using a few skin care products one day a few months back I realised that my skin had a huge amount of room for improvement and so improve it I did! I opted for products from the Simple range as I have very sensitive skin on my face and knew that their products would not irritate me or cause a reaction. Now I have my own routine of cleanse, tone and moisturise. Unfortunately I'm yet to discover an exfloiator which is safe for my sensitive skin. Anyway, the toner I use is this Simple Soothing Facial Toner which I love. The toner is 100% alcohol free with no added perfume, colour or other harsh chemicals which will irritate my skin. The toner does, however, contain pro-vitamin B5 which 'restores, softens and smoothes' skin. It also contains three 'skin loving nutrients' which are chamomile (gently softens and soothes skin), witch hazel (helps tone and tighten pores) and allantoin (softens and protects the skin). Reading the bottle lead me to believe this would be the perfect toner and it hasn't let me down. The toner is presented in opaque green bottle with the Simple logo, product information and full list of ingredients on it. The bottle allows you to clearly see how much toner you have left and is clear and 'simple' in layout. The toner itself just looks like water really. It's a clear liquid with no real scent to it and just looks very clean. To use the toner simply flip back the flip top lid and apply to cotton wool. Then wipe on your face in upwards movements every morning and every night. It's a quick and easy process. The results are noticeable. My pores for a start have definitely appear to have minimised in size and my face generally feels softer, smoother and cleaner. It's surprising the amount of times I've applied this toner on, what I believed to be, a clean face only to find little bits of dirt and make-up on the cotton wool. Best of all this causes no irritation to my skin as promised and generally has no negative points to it at all. The toner is available for near enough all supermarkets as well as the usual Superdrug and Boots stores for around £3 for a 200ml bottle so it won't put you out of pocket either! Even more so when you consider how long lasting the product is. I've been using this twice daily for a couple of months now and I still have over half the bottle left. All in all a fantastic toner. It's quick and easy to use as well as very effective with these effects being long lasting. The toner is perfect for sensitive skin, is widely available and rather cheap. Perfect!
My usual skincare routine is to cleanse, tone and moisturise. Unless I've had a really heavy night the night before and collapse into bed without taking my make-up off which is very rare these days. We all get it drilled into us by the magazines that this is the very minimum we should do to have healthy skin and to delay the signs of ageing. I've used the Simple range for years for my cleansing needs (see earlier review), and so it makes sense to use the same brand toner, especially as my skin can get irritated by stronger products. Now, I've got absolutely nothing against this product, but I'm not convinced that toner is absolutely necessary or that it provides any value to my skincare routine. I use this toner after cleansing, by dampening a cotton wool pad with it and wiping my face. It does feel really refreshing and avoids the skin from feeling 'tight' like it can after washing it with water, but there have been times when I've run out of this toner and I've just splashed my face with water. I'm not sure there's much difference to my skin to be honest, as the benefits to the toner seem purely psychological to me. The idea of the toner is to remove any last traces of cleanser, and 'tone' your skin to reduce the appearance of open pores. I used to have lots of open pores when I was a teenager, but these have disappeared over the years, but I'm not sure if that's down to using this product or through age. When times have been really hard I've had to skip the toner and use water in the past, and I can't say I've noticed any visible difference in my skin's appearance. This toner comes in a green bottle which you can see through so you know how much you've got left. The liquid is clear as Simple don't add colours and it doesn't smell of anything because it's unperfumed. If you do like to use a toner it's definitely a good one for sensitive skin as it contains no extra chemicals and is very gentle. I've never experienced irritation or redness whilst using this product. The container has a flip lid which doesn't feel as secure as a screw top lid so I wouldn't feel overly confident packing it in my suitcase for holiday. The toner costs around £3 or £4 for 200ml and is available in supermarkets, pharmacies and discount stores. It matches the cleanser so they look nice on your bathroom shelf, but I'm just not convinced that this is an essential part of anyone's skincare routine.
Since discovering the Simple range I have been using their products all the time in my skin care routine. This toner has become a must have for me and I have been buying it for about 6 months. A toner is used to tighten up the pores on your skin, making it more smooth and toned (hence the name...). This toner is also marketed as being soothing to your skin while doing its job. Usually toners contain alcohol in order to carry out their function. Simple products do not contain harsh chemicals or alcohol so I was intrigued to see how this toner worked. I am not an expert in skin care so cannot comment on which ingredients are actually carrying out the functions of toning. I can tell you that the product does work though! I use this product after cleansing my face and before applying moisturiser. The liquid is clear, colourless and is the consistency of water. I like the fact that it is colourless because I know there are no added colours. The toner is applied using a cotton wool pad. It is easy to apply the product to cotton wool as there is only a small hole in the top of the bottle. This means that product does not spill everywhere when you tip the bottle upside down. The bottle has a screw lid which is easy to remove but also creates a great seal to prevent spillage. Wiping this toner over my face is quite a nice feeling. It does not contain any alcohol which means that there is no stingy feeling. This is especially important if I have some spots that are a bit open which can be quite painful when using products. After use my skin feels refreshed and soothed. I end up with a lovely clean feeling which I especially love when I wake up after a night of drinking! I have noticed that the pores on my nose have become a bit smaller since using this product. I wouldn't call it a miracle product but it definitely does do something. It does not irritate my skin which is a big plus. It also does not dry out my skin at all and I can easily use it without adding a moisturiser on top. The toner costs around £3 for a 200ml bottle which is really good value in comparison to other toners. Sometimes Simple products are on offer in places like boots where you can pick them up cheaper too which is always useful! The bottle lasts quite a long time since you don't need a lot of product each time you use it. I would recommend this toner to anyone with sensitive skin.
I was struggling to find a toner that didn't leave my face feeling stripped or dry and tight when I came across Simple's Soothing Skin Toner. My skin isn't particularly sensitive, but can get quite dry, so this product is perfect. Simple makes a point of not using any harsh chemicals, colours or perfumes in their products and this one isn't any different. Brilliant for those with sensitive skin. I use this toner mornings and evenings after cleansing and it leaves my face feeling nicely refreshed. It's gentle and is absorbed into the skin quickly. Simple's range of products are also very reasonably priced, this toner is usually between £2 and £3 for a 200ml bottle. My skin definitely feels cared for using this product. I have often over looked Simple's range in the past, usually distracted by the flasher products on the shelf, but after using this I will definitely pay more attention in future.
Simple is a brand which prides itself on producing beauty products that are pure and that don't contain any unnecessary or harsh ingredients. They are proud of the fact that they never include any artificial fragrances or colouring in their products. I have been using Simple's products since I was a teenager and their creations are still very much part of my beauty routine. One of my favourite products that has been created by Simple is the Soothing Facial Toner. What does the product do? The purpose of a skin toner is to tighten the pores and to cleanse and smooth the skin. What makes this particular toner stand out is the fact that it uses gentle and natural ingredients to perform the action leaving your face feeling fresh and clear. It is also alcohol free. How does the product work? The toner contains Chamomile which is incredibly soothing on the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. It is an antioxidant so it helps to fight against premature aging and it helps to prevent any irritations. Allantoin calms and moisturises the skin and has fantastic anti aging properties. It is both soothing and stimulating and leaves the skin looking in an overall better condition while offering it a layer of protection. Witch Hazel is present because it is an astringent meaning that it can tighten the pores and tone the skin. In doing so it prevents pores from becoming permanently enlarged and maintains the smooth appearance of the skin. It also helps to control the amount of excess oils produced by the skin and helps to prevent the development of blackheads and blemishes. And finally, the product is enriched with Vitamin B5 which helps to heal the skin and fights against acne. It nourishes the skin and leaves it looking healthy. How do you use the product? The product is to be used on skin that has already been cleansed. You pour a small amount of the product onto a cotton pad and smooth it across the face, paying particular attention to any area which has enlarged pores. Once it has fully absorbed into the skin, you apply your moisturiser and make up in the usual way. Packaging and Price The product comes in a green bottle which is translucent and it has a screw top lid. This design is useful because you can see exactly how much product you have left. The packaging is fairly plain to reflect the purity of what is inside and there is only some writing on the outside. The product will cost you around £3 for 200ml which is really cheap for a product this good. You can also buy a mini 50ml bottle for travelling with which will cost you around £1. It can be bought from most department stores, large supermarkets and on a variety on online websites. Extra Thoughts When you remove the lid of the product, you thankfully see that it is not an open top bottle as I had initially feared but one with a tiny hole through which the toner is dispensed. This means that you can control the amount of product that you are using and it ensures that you are not wasting any. When you squeeze the product onto the pad, you will notice that it is clear like water which is reassuring as to its purity when compared to some of the bright blues and greens that I've seen used with other products. Despite being clear, you can still see how much you have squeezed out due to the dampness of the cotton pad. As there have been no artificial fragrances added to this product, it doesn't really have an aroma which is something that I prefer when using facial products. It is incredibly gentle when wiped across the skin and doesn't sting or feel uncomfortable as some toners can and I assume this is because there is no alcohol in the product. As long as you put enough product on the pad, it will glide across the skin without dragging or pulling your face. I would say that this product performs a good cleansing role, as even after I have cleansed my skin, I will sometimes see traces of make up come away on the pad. This probably shows that my cleanser has not performed well enough as much as showing that this product is performing well however! After use, my skin does feel a little tingly, super fresh and clean. It is a very refreshing product and you can feel it soothing your skin. Once your skin has completely dried, you will notice that it feels softer than before so it is moisturising too. It doesn't make my skin feel dry and has not caused any flaky skin, blemishes or blackheads to form. I can't say that I have noticed that my pores have decreased in size but they certainly haven't become any larger. I do find that my skin is less greasy as I go through the day and my complexion stays matte for a longer period of time. This in turn means that fewer blemishes are forming and that my skin is looking clearer. All in all, this is a great toner that will be perfect for use on all skin types including sensitive skin. It cleanses and tones the skin and leaves it looking smooth and feeling soft. It hasn't produced any dryness or irritation and therefore I think this is a fantastic product.
I Use simple for my cleanser toner and moisturiser and I find them to be a reliable company and I seem to love all of there products there is no difference with this toner. It costs £2.99 for a 200 ml bottle that comes in simples usual green colour. The bottle itself has a screw top lid and a rather large whole in the top of the bottle for the toner to be tipped out on to the pad. Once applying it to my face I find it to be very soothing it does not cause any irritation but when applied does give off a slight tingle. From what I have heard this is a good sign as it means it is working on tightening my pores which is of course why we use a toner. Since I have been using the toner my pores on appearance definitely seem to have shrunk which is great.Simple is as it says simple no perfume no added colours or un needed chemicals which is great for my skin as it often tends to be a little sensitive. My only downside is that the toner flies out the bottle too fast and I often find it soaks right through the cotton pads and into my hand wasting the product and therefore does not last as long. I have tried different angles tipping it slowly but each way the toner seems to pour out too fast. I love this toner it works well and has become part of my daily routine. It is not bank breaking and the true test to me for if a toner works is can you feel the tingle. Yes i can so this is a winning product for me. It helps my face feel fresh and also my skin is improving all the time that I use my simple products.
As I've been doing a lot of travelling backwards and forwards recently to see my boyfriend, I've been stocking up on travel sized toiletries to help make travelling light easier. One of these was the Simple Soothing Toner which costs £1.32 for the 50ml travel size or £3.05 for the full size 200ml bottle. The bottle it comes in is green but you can see through it so you can always tell how much is left. It has a screw on lid which is not as convenient as a flip-top but it is easy to open. The best thing about the bottle is that instead of the usual open neck I'm used to on toners this one has a plastic covering with just a small hole in, so you don't end up pouring out loads more than you need every time. The toner is a clear watery liquid that you just apply to a cotton wool pad and wipe over your skin. It feels very wet when I first apply it to my skin but it very quickly dries off so you're not walking around with a wet face for ages. It feels cooling and refreshing as soon as I use it and you can definitely feel it cleaning and removing dirt from your skin. With most toners I've used I've found I have to use it twice to feel that my face is fully clean with every last trace of dirt and grime removed, but with this one once is enough to leave me feeling perfectly clean and fresh. It doesn't sting, irritate or dry my skin as you would expect from a Simple product because they are designed with sensitive skin in mind. It doesn't have the tightening effect that more astringent toners have, instead just leaving my skin feeling fresh and soft and making my moisturiser apply easier and sink in quicker. I really like the fact that this is gentle on my skin and I don't use much at a time so it's really good value for money too. I think this could definitely become my regular toner.
I love the simple range and my 3 basics are simple cleanser, toner and moisturiser. I find all simple prodcuts are gentle yet very effective. Every morning and night i use simple cleanser wiped away with cotton wool and then use simple toner to remove any traces which were left from the cleanser. This toner leaves my skin feeling very fresh and clean. I find this toner is very soothing on my skin, i have quite sensitive skin and as my skin changes through seasons i always know that simple toner will help me and be something that i can continue to use. During the summer i like to keep my simple toner in the fridge to make it cool and extra soothing, this feels great to even use during the day just as a refreshing treatment. The price of this simple toner is really good and often this is on offer so i can stock up. With such a reliable and effective toner the price really is great. I will continue to use this toner and strongly reccomment others try it
I'm at the age when I have begun to try and look after the condition of my skin, I'm approaching the big 50 and have noticed the condition of my skin has altered from being a young woman and I would like to mature slowly with nice looking skin. Simple Soothing Skin Toner has been helping the condition of my skin by the daily use of it in my beauty routine that I now have. I'm not loyal to any one product and will search the net or go to the shops to find beauty products. I'm not really bothered about the price I pay either, as I have very expensive products and also the cheaper versions from my visits to town, as long as the brand is a well known or a recommended name I will buy it. This Simple Soothing Skin Toner was bought from The Bodycare shop in Hereford and it cost me £1.99 for a double pack of skin moisuriser and toner. I will write about the moisturiser in another review. The pack held two bottles each had 50 ml inside. I was happy with the price as they go together. The toner has to be used first and it comes in a light green plastic bottle which can be recycled after its been used up. The liquid inside is thin and clear and smells a little of witchhazel which is a good toner and tonic for the skin. You only need a little on a ball of cotton wool and gently rub it around the face covering the forehead and t-zone, but be careful not to get it in the eyes otherwise it will sting and you'll have to rince then with water until it stops stinging. Be careful to put all beauty products out of reach of children as they can be tempted to play with them. Once you have used the product you can feel the difference in the condition of the skin almost straight away, it looks slightly pink as it helps the skin glow and it feels refreshed and soft and tighter than before you have used it. I like this product as it is good for sensative skin and has no perfume or colour added to it, so it's simple like it's name. If your looking for a good beauty product then this one is a good option. It has chamomile and witchazel in the product, these have been used for years as toners, cleansers and for all skin conditions from blemishes to spots. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to you.
I love Simple products as they dont irritate my skin like other skincare products do ,and in particular I like the Simple Soothing Toner as this eliminates the last little bits of dirt that cleansers can leave behind . I apply this toner using upward and outward movements , and then apply a rich moisturiser to protect my skin from potential damage the environment we live in can create. I like the Simple Soothing Skin Toner as it really does soothe the skin after a hard day in the office and calms down any puffiness . I normally use this alongside the Simple Kind to Skin Cleanser as they seem to compliment reach other well. The Simple Soothing Toner contains witch hazel and chamomile which helps to condition the skin and makes us feel refreshed . In summary I think this is one of the best facial toners on the market. Thanks Lydia xx
I bought this toner recently because I had heard good things about this brand and wanted to try a few products out. The toner is marketed as being a way to remove any last traces of makeup and cleanser, as well as refreshing your skin. Simple state that the ingredients include chamomile, which soothes the skin, as well as witch hazel to tighten your pores. Furthermore the product is alcohol free and therefore does not dry out your skin. In order to keep the product from irritating sensitive skin, there is no perfume or colouring added. This product retails for around £2.99 for which you get 200ml. I have to say, I think this toner is great value. I use it after cleansing my face and removing makeup and it does refresh my skin without drying it. To use I simply squirt some onto a piece of cotton wool and then sweep all over my face. The toner has never brought me out in spots or caused any redness and I really only have one thing to criticise which is that the toner can leave a slight shiny film on my face which can be annoying if I am skipping foundation that day, however a bit of powder will correct this. I give this product a 4/5 as it is perfect except for the shiny face effect.
Remove the last traces of make-up and cleanser with our Soothing Facial Toner to clarify and refresh your skin / Chamomile gently soothes / Witch Hazel helps tone and tighten pores / 100% alcohol free so is non drying and leaves skin soft / pH balanced so works in harmony with your skin.
