I originally bought these Simple Spotless Skin Deep Clean Cleansing Pads for my boyfriend when he said he wanted some products to help get rid of a few spots he was getting, but I've ended up stealing them when I can't be bothered to properly cleanse my face. These are currently priced at £4.99 in boots but I don't think I paid that much for them, I probably got them on an offer.
The pads come in a white tub with a simple twist off lid, and you get 60 pads in the tub. I think the packaging is ok but I'm not keen on the design and I do think it looks like a typical 'spot product', which is not the kind of thing I like to have displayed in my bathroom or on my dressing table.
The pads are round with about a 5cm diameter. They have a little cut-out on one side where you fit your finger to make it easier to get them out of the tub. They are textured pads to give exfoliation to the skin, and the texture looks almost like a quilted effect. I can't notice any scent coming from the pads, which I guess is typical of Simple products as they don't use artificial fragrances etc.
Using the pads, of course, is dead simple. Just wipe the pad over your skin to remove dirt and impurities, and you should see the dirt coming off onto the pad, particularly if you have oily skin. I don't like the way these pads feel on my skin at al, I find them really rough and scratchy and it's just an unpleasant experience to use them. They are wet enough to feel as though they're thoroughly cleansing my face, but not so wet that I have to leave my skin to dry off for ages after using them.
After use my skin does feel clean, but it also feels quite rough and has an odd texture to it which I don't like at all. Certain areas of my skin, like around the bottom of my nose, sometimes sting and feel quite sore for a while after using it, which makes me think the ingredients are not that gentle.
I do think using these has helped to keep my skin looking clear, but I can't say it's improved my skin from how it was already. It doesn't seem to help with existing spots and breakouts, and it definitely hasn't made a difference to my blackheads and clogged pores so I don't think it's all that effective really.
All in all I really don't like these pads at all, they're scratchy and uncomfortable to use and I don't find them that effective. Not recommended by me.
