I love Simple products. They are so kind to your skin, and since I have dry sensitive skin they suit me to the ground.
I use a moisturiser every single day, and have done since I was a teenager. I’ve always had pretty dry skin, which meant that although I very rarely suffered from zits, my skin would feel tight or dry if I didn’t moisturise. I’ve used a variety of moisturisers over the years, and sometimes if one was the wrong type for my skin it would result in an outbreak of spots.
Simple Vital Vitamin Day Cream is a lovely thick and rich cream which disappears into the skin of my face and neck without leaving a shiny film. I tend to dab spots of the cream onto my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin, and then onto my neck. Then I gently spread the cream and massage it in until it disappears. In the usage instructions there is no warning about keeping the cream away from the area of the eyes, which I find reassuring.
I wear eye makeup, but never wear any sort of foundation or powder on my face, so for me a vital ingredient in this day cream is the SPF15 protection. I’m very lucky because I tan quite quickly and mostly without burning, as long as I’m very careful, and SPF15 is just about right for me in terms of strength.
Finally, the price is reasonable. You won’t break the bank buying this product. In fact, for the same price as some rival products, you could also splash out on the matching night cream.
I wear make up every day, so a good day cream is an essential for me. My skin is quite dry and I find that foundation can strip my skin of its natural oils, especially the average high street brands. So I have to apply a cream before putting on any make up.
I picked this specific face cream merely due to the fact that it was on offer. Face creams can be very expensive and because you have to use them daily I go through them like there's no tomorrow! This was in the Tesco 3 for 2 offers upon purchase so I got this one for free, as it was my cheapest beauty care item.
I am aware of the Simple brand and have used many of their products before. Simple have the tag line 'sensitive skin expects', and my skin especially on my face can be very sensitive at times. They add no perfume or colour to their products which I've found is often what irritates my skin. Simple is the UK's number 1 facial beauty brand (it states this on the box) so I had high hopes for this day cream.
Singularly this costs £4.00 from Tesco. Amazon and Superdrug sell this for £4.99; Boots sell this for a rather pricey £5.60. This face cream comes in 50ml pots. I would say the £4.00 Tesco's price is most accurate for this type of product in my opinion.
My face cream came in a box similar to the one pictured above. Inside is the face cream itself. I don't see the need for the extra packaging on this item. The box is not symmetrical due to the panelled statement which goes beyond the lid; therefore you can't stack or sit this anywhere. I threw this out once purchased, and if everyone does this it becomes wastage that was not necessary. Surely the removal of this would cut cost so everyone's a winner right?
The product itself is contained in a small round pot. It's easy to hold and sits comfortably in my hand. The colour scheme is what you would expect from simple- green and white. This scheme runs throughout all of their products. It's simple in design but still sticks out in my beauty box. I like the simplicity of the design it tells me everything I need to know without the need for bold colours and gimmicks.
Inside, the tub is full to the brim with cream. The cream is white; not runny in consistency but nowhere near as thick as some that I've tried. I prefer this as it easily spreads and rubs into my face. This doesn't smell like anything in particular really, it's not strong or fragrant. If anything I would say it smelled like cucumbers, it's a very natural smell.
The cream is easily removed from the pot and is straightforward to apply. It leaves my face with a cool refreshed feel to it. I use this first thing in the morning before my makeup and it definitely wakes up and revitalises my tired skin. It contains 2 vitamins and 4 'skin loving' ingredients which aim to keep your skin moisturised and protected. I can confirm that since using my skin has felt moisturised, my skin feels soft and I do believe this gives me a protective layer from the wear of makeup.
I applied the cream first thing this morning and my skin still feels soft and smooth, my cheeks are especially soft. My nose does feel slightly dry but I think this is more down to the excess use of concealer this morning to cover up a huge spot that invaded my face overnight!
I am very happy with the overall effect this has had on my face. I think Tesco sell this for a reasonable price so I would advise purchase from there, if this product appeals. I got mine for free which makes it even better. My skin feels refreshed and gives me a re-energized look. Simple doesn't need the fancy branding or the silly gimmicks the attention to detail on what is actually wanted from a face cream speaks volumes. I would love to give this 5 stars but I have to remove one for the wasted packaging.
I try my best to wear day creams to try and protect my skin and I have tried a variety over the years. I do really like the Simple range though and this is a lovely cream at a reasonable price.
This is a nice cream that comes in a cardboard box and inside that is the little pot. It is a 50ml pot that I have and it is 'simple' in its design and it is typical of the Simple range with white and green colours. This makes it easy for me to spot on the shelf. It cost me about £5 which is very reasonable especially when you compare it to other brands but it doesn't mean you miss out on quality as this is still a very good product.
It is a day cream which contains Vitamin E and Vitamin B and Vitamin F which are all good for the skin. It doesn't contain an SPF although it does say that it's ingredients are a kind of sun screen but I think if it doesn't say it contains SPF then it can't be that effective which is a shame and probably the only way it could improve.
It is supposed to last 24 hours so you can apply this just once a day and I believe that it does work too. I don't need to apply a lot either, usually two pea sized amounts is enough to cover my face. It doesn't feel greasy, it's a light weight cream that applies well on skin and absorbs quite quickly. I can apply my make up on top of it easily and it actually provides a nice base for doing so.
I don't know if it does work all day long but I have found that since I have used this that my skin looks in better condition. It is smoother and it doesn't have any dry patches now. I like to think that it will help stop ageing being quite as fast too although I know it will be no miracle cream as nature has to happen but it is nice to think that this is having a positive effect upon the quality of my skin.
When I don't wear this I notice that my face feels that bit more sensitive and can become a little dry quite quickly so I now try to remember to put this on every day. I really like this product and love it's price!
I use loads of different types of facial creams and moisturisers and sometimes I think that keeping to the simple things in life is the best. I was given a sample of Simple Vital Vitamin Day Cream when I bought myself a couple of tops in Dorothy Perkins, believe it or not, last year. There was some sort of promotion on at the time in store and they were giving away the tiniest little pots of this vitamin day cream for people to try if you spent over £10 in store. I used mine up in next to no time as the pot was so tiny, but that was what actually spurred me on to go out and buy a standard sized pot for £5.99. I have since used all of that pot up and I am now onto my second standard sized pot. I love this stuff and cannot get enough of it. I would never have considered buying it if I hadn't been given the tiny promotional pot so I'm glad I tried the first one for free.
My pot of 100ml in size and comes in a plastic casing with a twist off lid. Simple have stuck to plain packaging, which I quite like, in basically white and a mint coloured green. I think that this cream also comes in a plastic squeezy tube but I'm not positive about this, as I always buy mine in the little plastic pot.
I love Simple facial creams as they never use anything harsh or unnecessary, they keep it as simple as possible and use lovely ingredients such as Pro-Vitamin B5, Glycerin, Allantoin, added sun protectors and Bisabolol. The total list of ingredients for this particular cream are:
Aqua, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Palmitate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Cetyl Alcohol, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Dimethicone, Sorbitol, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, PEG-100, Stearate, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Allantoin, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Bisabolol, Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Pantolactone BHT, Citric Acid.
The first thing I noticed about this cream was it's lovely fresh smell. I am so used to Simple products having absolutely no smell at all, and whilst this is fine with me, as this is what I'd expect, I was quiet pleased to discover this one does have ever such a light and subtle fragrance to it. It's white in colour, quite rich in consistency, and although it's specifically designed for the face and neck area, I do confess to using it on my legs and hands from time to time.
It is absorbed really well into my skin and really takes away any flay patches or dry areas without making my skin feel greasy or clogged up. It's rich and hydrating but at the same time it feels light and fresh on my skin. It is everything I could possibly want in a moisturiser, to be honest and I am so glad I managed to pick up the free sample, otherwise I would never have gone out to buy this.
A really great everyday moisturising cream, with added vitamins at a price I can afford.
I bought this product a few months ago but thought I would wait before I wrote a review to get a proper chance to use this product and see how it made my skin feel long term and I have to say I am very impressed.
I love simple products in general because they make my skin feel amazing! The day cream contains "3 vital vitamins, 3 skin loving ingredients and 0 perfumes or colours", which can only ever be good for you.
The packaging isn't to complicated and the layout is very simple. The pot comes in a cardboard box which you can see pictured with the logo and key selling points on it but I can't remember what else was on the box as I through it out when I opened it but I think it has the ingredients on it. Inside you get a small round pot with the cream in which fits in perfectly on my makeup shelf. It doesn't take up much room and it isn't an eyesore to look at. The pot is white with a green lid, the brand colours. Written on the front of the pot is the simple logo and the name of the product "kind to skin vital vitamin day cream" it also has the USP's f 3 vital vitamins, skin loving ingredients but no perfume or colours etc. On the back it has some information on the product and how to apply it.
"smile it's simple out vital vitamin day cream is a perfect blend of active ingredients and multi vitamin goodness to moisturise and protect skin all day long. Perfect for even sensitive skin. For best results smooth gently into your face and neck using upward and outward movements. Use daily with our kind to skin vital vitimin night cream"
I also recommend investing in the night cream but I will do a different review on that.
It also has the website and a few other pieces of information like 50ml and copyright etc.
There slogan is at the bottom 'we believe in goodness'.
The product is also made in the UK which I love because I don't see the point in creating an item that is natural and good for you if it flys around the world before it reaches you.
Words cannot describe how much I love this item. The moisturiser is not to thick or dry but also not to wet and sticky, although there is no perfume or smell it doesn't smell horrible.
It made my skin feel so smooth and healthy and this also showed as it makes my skin glow. I use it under makeup almost like a primer but if I'm not wearing make up I will put it on in the morning and then if I feel my skin needs a bit of a boost I keep it in my make up bag and just apply it throughout the day.
I would definitely buy this again
