“ Brand: Skin Ceuticals / Type: Cleanser / What it does: Cleanses, „
I'm one of those unlucky teenagers who have problems with facial skin. I have been battling acnes and red spots ever since I hit puberty. Compared to 2 years ago, my facial skin is looking better but I have to make sure that I choose the right products for my skin to keep the acnes as minimal a problem as possible. This is when I was recommeded the above product by one of my friends. I bought this product quite some time ago per my friend's suggestion and also since I've got some gift vouchers.
The Skin Ceuticals gentle cleanser comes in a white plastic bottle with a black nozzle that has press-and-pump action similar to lotion bottles. The bottle is simple in design and the pump is quite smooth, so I have no problems trying to get the pump to work. I've paid around £20.00 for a 240 ml bottle of this cleanser from amazon.co.uk. Personally, I think it's a bit pricey for a facial cleanser but the quantity you get is twice as much compared to some other cleansers.
As for how it works, I usually use one to two pumps in the showers and this is enough to clean my face if I have a light layer of make-up on. However, after a long day at uni, my face gets really oily and I would have to wash my face twice to get all the make-up and oil off my face. One problem I have is that it doesn't really clean my eye make-up, especially it leaves dark smudges of eye liner and it is really frustrating to see the panda eyes when I come out of the shower. In retrospect, I think it is because this cleanser is aiming for a gentle touch and maybe removing eye make-up effectively requires some heave duty chemicals.
From my experience, I think the product does leave my skin smooth and clean without any irritation. The main reason I started using this product to tone down my acnes and spots; but after using this product for two months, it doesn't really feel that the product has any significant affects in controlling the acnes. In my opinion, I think it is a good cleanser for normal sensitive skin; it just doesn't do a good job in terms of keeping acnes at bay.
I finished this product about 3 months ago and since then I've started to use a different type of cleanser. From my experience, having a good night sleep and good eating habits have a great influence in reducing the acnes. Therefore, I think choosing the right cleanser is important but there are other factors at play in my case. The product from Skin Ceuticals didn't leave me disappointed but I'm not entirely impressed by its performance, especially since the price is quite high and I expect it to deliver well. Nevertheless, this product might the right one for someone with the right skin type, so I wouldn't rule this out completely.
Thank you for reading. :) x
Skin Ceuticals wasn't a brand I was very familiar with and I only decided to try some after reading so many positive reviews here on dooyoo.
The gentle cleanser was the first skin ceutical product that I tried and I was encouraged by it that it encouraged me to try some of the other range.
I have sensitive skin with rosacea. The rosacea causes my skin to be red and ultra sensitive so I need to be careful with what products I put on it. Some products will have no reaction with my skin but others will cause it to become red and inflamed with itching. I have found over the years that the products that cause me the most discomfort are cleansers. As I am also prone to the occasional spot and greasy skin this is one part of my skin care regime that I can't afford to scrimp on.
The skin ceuticals gentle cleanser is designed to be used as often as needed and will remove excess impurities and leave skin feeling comfortable and grease free.
To use the cleanser you just need to put some on your face and neck and massage with circular motions and then rise or wipe off.
The cleanser feels nice and silky on my skin and when it is washed off my skin feels really calm and actually soothed. I have never had an adverse reaction to the cleanser and redness is kept to a minimum after using it.
My skin feels clean but also moisturised. It removes the grease in my skin without also removing the natural oil so my skin isn't left tight and dry.
The cleanser is absolutely gorgeous and the only slight criticism I have with it is that because it is so gentle it doesn't remove all my make-up with one go and I nearly always have to cleanse twice to get rid of it all from my skin. I am just pleased that it is so gentle that using it twice doesn't cause me any discomfort.
The other thing that might put off some people is the price. I paid £22 for the cleanser which was for a 240ml bottle. I personally would buy it again even though it was so expensive as it is one of the most gentle cleansers I have ever used along with Dermalogica ultra calming cleanser. As these two products are both so expensive the price isn't an issue for me when they work so well and until a high street brand can do as good a job I am willing to continue paying for a premium brand.
The big question that needs to be answered when considering this cleanser is does the performance justify the rather steep price that comes with it. For me the answer really does depend on what skin type you have. With regards to cost a 240ml bottle will set you back about £22 although if you shop around you might find it for just under the £20 mark so it is certainly not a cheap product. However if you have very sensitive skin then it could be worth it to splash the cash and then splash this on your face as it is a very gentle cleanser indeed. On the other hand if you have normal type skin then it may not be worth the money.
While it is not exactly fragrance free it is very hard to detect a smell at all, a sort of vanilla yoghurt smell but one that is heavily diluted and nullified. The cleaner is actually a cream and it is dispensed through a simple pump action, the packaging is nothing special, a plain looking white bottle with basic text and a black pump action dispenser. I tend to apply it using a cotton pad to allow me to really work it into my skin and also then I can clearly see the results it is getting.
It certainly is effective at removing dirt from my porse however it also has a very gentle action, I have seen other product be more effective at removing dirt and grease however they can also be a bit harsh and leave my complexion looking a bit blotchy however that is not the case with this cleanser. It isa simple product to use, there is no foaming action and the cream is reasonably easy to rinse away.
It leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth and it has a natural look to it. I have never had any sort of reaction after using this product. If your skin is not very sensitive then there are cheaper products to use on the market however if you are prone to sensitive skin then this product is well worth considering.
My skin is terribly sensitive, I suffer with periodic eczema and have to be exceedingly careful what products I use on my face to avoid exacerbating the situation. While I generally dislike spending large sums on skin care products, I was convinced by my niece to try Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser after it helped her to rid her facial skin of some blemishes that had been caused by an overly harsh cleanser recently.
This cleanser is a cream and using it is simple; there are two ways of using the cleanser but I always apply it directly to my skin and massage it in thoroughly before rinsing the cleanser away. Alternatively you can place a small amount of cleanser onto a cotton wool ball and use that to sweep it across you skin, again just rinsing afterwards. I feel the results are better when using the first method as the massaging effect seems to leave my skin feeling cleaner.
There is very little fragrance to the cleanser, it has a simple creamy smell that I find very pleasant to use. I would assume the lack of perfume is partly what makes this such a gentle cleanser, I recall a terrible reaction I had to a so called 'gentle' cleanser from Lush last year - oh, I am in no doubt that the cleanser was gentle but it was so strongly scented that my skin reacted to that instead.
This is a cream cleanser so will not foam at all, I think the rich creamy feel of it is lovely and feels very soothing to my poor old skin - it is much more moisturising than I thought it would be and this means I can use a lighter facial moisturiser than usual, some people may be able to forego moisturiser completely when using this cleanser but unfortunately my skin is too damaged for that.
The only complaint I have regarding this cleanser is the fact that it takes an awfully long time to rinse from my skin. Having such sensitive skin in the first place it is imperative that I am not left residue of any products as this can cause intense itching and on occasion a full flare up of my eczema, therefore I spend much longer rinsing when I have used this cream cleanser than I do actually cleaning my skin. I really have to check and double check that every scrap of cleanser has been rinsed away before I dry my face, something that I find slightly bizarre considering how little of the product I need to use in the first place.
I must admit my skin feels and looks incredibly clean after using the Skin Ceuticals cleanser, I was a little surprised about this as I find gentle cleansers rarely give my skin that 'squeaky clean' feeling but this one certainly does its job well. I wouldn't say it has any other effects other than being cleansing, for example it doesn't make my skin look any younger or more radiant, but as this is sold as a basic gentle cleanser I couldn't expect anything else - and certainly not the miracle of youthful looking skin at my age!
I shall continue to purchase this Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser, I admit to being rather nonplussed at the high price as for 240ml it costs over £20 - and rising, according to my niece. However, the simple pump action dispenser means I can use the precise amount I need and therefore there is absolutely no waste whatsoever. I have had this bottle for three months and only now am considering ordering another one, this actually makes it more economical in the long run than a L'Oreal cleanser I was using previously.
I don't have a great deal of the brand Skin Ceuticals but decided to give their Gentle Cleanser a chance after seeing it on offer at an online store. Priced at just under £20 I read positive reviews on the net and were looking for a facial cleanser to try. Skin Cleaners are intended to clear skin of debris before moisturising or applying products such as acne treatments. Removing natural skin oils and dirt this maximises the effects of any product you then apply. At under £20 for a 240ml bottle I didn't think it were too expensive, although there are much cheaper similar products on the highstreet.
Reading the packaging, the idea is that you are to use the product several times a day and by doing so it will remove excess impurities and oil without drying the skin. It is also meant to soothe and calm sensitive or traumatised skin. What I think is meant by this is that skin that is inflamed due to acne for example will be left feeling much calmer and ready to be treated. The cleanser itself is thick and a pale shade. I would have preffered a clear solution personally, but if it worked I wouldn't have a problem.
After a couple of weeks' use of this product i thought I would start noticing a change in how my skin appeared, unfortunately this wasn't to be the case. I still had red and inflamed areas and my acne treatments weren't noticeably improving my skin as a result of this product. My skin did feel better, however. I noticed it wasn't as oily, but this wasn't at the expense of dry skin either. One positive was the application process. By simply putting it onto damp hands I found it lather surprisingly well, but the end result was unsatisfactory for this price and I won't be buying it again. Ultimately I won't be suggesting anyone goes and spends such a decent amount of money on something that doesn't give good enough results.
No way would I normally treat myself to a £22.50 cleanser but I felt I had 2 good reasons to do so last week -
1. My first week of no smoking, which has been difficult but successful :)
2. The award of 2 X £10 Amazon vouchers
I therefore decided to treat my face to something a little special and opted for this Skin Ceutical Gentle Cleanser in the 250ml size.
It arrived very quickly and I was surprised how stylish the pump action bottle is compared to my trusted old cleanser. I often have trouble getting pumps started but this was fine and I love the way there is no waste or any dripping from the bottle.
It is quite a thick creamy cleanser and it smells of oranges but is not too strong or overpowering apparently the scent comes from citrus aurantium dulcis oil.
The directions for use are on the bottle - basically you are just advised to work into the face and rinse with water - however, I use a warm damp muslin cloth as I don't feel just rinsing is enough to remove the product. I then use a light moisturiser on my skin and I have to say that I have noticed a big improvement even only having used it for a few days. It advises, because the cleanser is gentle, that you can use both morning and evening but because I am mean (or should I say 'careful'?) I have only used it at night yet have noticed my face looks less red, more toned and supple, much smoother and more hydrated.
Although it is aimed at those with sensitive skin I would recommend this to anyone (male or female) as mine is not really sensitive being more of a combination skin.
HOWEVER, there are some downsides to this product in my opinion and I am yet to find the perfect cleanser.
Not all my make-up is removed straightaway and I usually have to use it twice to prevent any residue remaining. Personally I do not find that rinsing with water is enough (hence the muslin cloth) otherwise you can feel a slight film plus a feeling of tightness on the face.
It tells me that the product contains the following and the reasons for using -
- citrus oil which purifies the skin
- tridecyl stearate which hydrates
- glyceryl stearate which softens and smooths
BUT this is followed by a long list of other ingredients which make no sense whatsoever to me. I was surprised at this because I thought it comprised basically natural ingredients, frankly the only one I recognised was aqua. It also contains alcohol and although I have not experienced any harshness or stripping I found this a little worrying.
I am in two minds about this cleanser.
On the one hand it is pleasant to use and I have certainly noticed a difference in my skin.
However, I am not sure I could 100% recommend it to others as I cannot make head or tail of what I am actually using on my face as far as ingredients are concerned.
All I can say is, the choice is yours :)
I paid £20.99 for a bottle of 250ml of this Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser as it was on offer online it usually retails at £22.99 or a little nore depending on where you buy it from, so it pays to browse the net if you buy online like me. It can be bought in some salons too but I live rural and so it's more convenient for me to buy online and have something delivered to my door.
I like the container as it has a pump action dispenser so you can just use a little at a time instead of pouring it from a bottle to a cotton bud and getting more than you want on the cotton bud, this just dispences the right amount and you can then gently rub the cleanser across the parts of the face that need it.
It is good for removing make-up and is very gentle on the skin.
I have sensative skin and it is combination skin too, parts of my face are dry and others a little greasy, so I have to be careful which cleansers I buy, this one so far has been alright with no irritation.
The liquid inside the plastic bottle has a light scent kind of like lanolin and the liquid is not too runny and goes on well, a little is all yuou need and so far the bottle I bought has lasted me two months and is about hlaf way full. It can be used everyday and I use it morning and evening before I go to bed to remove any make-up I have been wearing and also just to unblock the pores and cleanse my skin.
It is good at removing make-up and you can see the make-up on the cotton bud when you have wipes your etyeshadow off your eyes. There is also the dirt ont he cotton bud if you are just cleansing your face as it is good at removing impurities from the skin without damaging the skin.
It has oraqnge oil in the ingredients but I wouldn't say that this is a strong scent in the liquid as you can smell the lanolin kind of smell more.
All in all it's a good cleanser that can be used everyday on sensative skin and I am happy to recommend it to you.
Anyone who has read a couple of my reviews now knows is that I have sensitive skin and rosacea and I am a bit of a sucker for products that might help me. So when my salon started getting in Skin Ceuticals products I thought I would give this cleanser a go as it is designed for sensitive skin. It is on the pricey side, being around £22.50 for 240ml, but I got a free sample so thought I would give it a go.
You use this like any other cleanser and it smells like oranges, which I like on a morning as it helps me to wake up. The fragrance comes from one of the main ingredients, which is orange oil. I found that my skin didn't feel tight and horrible after using this, which sometimes it does with other harsher cleansers. I also wasn't left with a residue or filmy feeling that you sometimes get with cleansers.
I've found that it cleanses my skin very well and I haven't had any breakouts whilst using it and it also removes my make-up very well so all in all I have been rather impressed by this product. I found it to be cooling and calming for my skin and haven't had a rosacea flair up since using it.
I was not so impressed, however, that I have gone out and bought a full priced version. I think that over £20 for a cleanser is just not good value, no matter how long it lasts and how good it is, so I'm afraid I no longer use this product. But if the price tag doesn't put you off I would go for it and use this
I'd never heard of Skinceuticals before but the salon where I go for facials has just become a stockist and when I finished my facial my beautician gave me a few bits and pieces to take away with me to try. One of the products I received was Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser which I started using straight away, I usually use Clarins products and love them but I'm willing to give new things a go. As I said I received a sample; however the usual price for 240ml bottle is around £25- pretty pricey.
The Claim: "This mild cream cleanser removes excess impurities and oil without drying the skin. Gentle enough to be used several times a day, this non-irritating cleanser conditions, soothes and calms sensitive or traumatised skin".
I was shown the new range of products in the salon and the cleanser comes in a stand up plastic container, which reminds me of a hand soap bottle, the main body is white with a black pump lid. My first thought was how cheap the packaging looked, I am aware this has no bearing on what's inside but for £25 I like the whole 'visually appealing/ it actually works' package. Although the pump is good as you can get out just enough of the cleanser I often find with these types of things that there's usually a lot of product left in the container which is difficult to get out.
The cleanser is which thick and creamy, which immediately puts me off a little bit as I do tend to prefer a liquid cleanser. There is a slight smell of citrus but it's only very light, as it's made for sensitive skin I should think they've steered clear of any fragrance. It's recommended that the cleanser is applied with moistened hands; I lathered it into my face and neck and left it for a few minutes as recommended, then rinsed it off and patted my face dry.
My skin did feel fresh and clean after using Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser, unfortunately though I have to say it was nothing special. In all fairness it didn't dry or irritate my skin but afterwards I was left thinking, is that it? It's true that the cleanser is gentle- it hardly has any effect. I stuck with the cleanser and tried it every day for nearly two weeks until my sample ran out and I was disappointed. I should also imagine that a big bottle doesn't last very long as I found myself using quite a lot of the product, I only used it once a day but many people would use it once.
Overall, I can't recommend this product, it does cleanse the skin but it really is very gentle. It's very expensive and for this I expect something a little extra, even the packaging looked like it had no thought put into it. Maybe they'd gone for simple and stylish but unfortunately not even this was achieved!
To be prefectally honest, I hadn't even heard of this brand until I received this cleanser as part of my christmas present. I've recently got into the very bad habit of just using makeup remover wipes, so when I received this, I was really looking forward to using it as I never feel that my face is really clean enough with wipes.
Well at £22.00, I definitely wouldn't have considered buying it for myself, I think my most expensive cleanser is about £5 but you don't realise the difference and quality of these products until you've tried them. You get a 240ml bottle and I use the cleanser once in the morning and at night, in a month I have only used about a third of the bottle, so if you consider it cost per use, it isn't too bad. I find that one pump is plenty for your face and neck, you get just the right amount and there is no wastage. The bottle is white with a black pump, so it looks expensive.
This cleanser has a lovely sweet smell to it, it isn't sickly but a fresh scent, which you will smell when you apply it. You only need just one pump, so a little goes a long way. When applying, I dot it over my face and then massage it, leaving for a minute to work its magic.I really quite like this cleanser as it removes every trace of makeup and leaves my skin looking radiant, giving it a glow. I have to say I have noticed a difference, my skin is softer and smoother and I am glad to have found something that I don't react to.
Would I buy it? Yes and no. I think it's a good product yet still feel it's a little bit too expensive and its availability isn't great.
When it comes to make-up and beauty products my mom might not use them all the time but when she does she spends SO much money on her products. In her eyes if it doesnt cost loads it wont work and it'll be another awful product to waste money on - I dont share her views but Im not complaining as it means I get to try out LOADS of expensive products without paying for them. Her Skin Ceuticals phase is quite a new one but over the last few months there have been bottles from SC stacking up in the bathroom so a few weeks ago I thought it might be time to try a few of them out, starting with this 'Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser'. I had never heard of the range before so I had no idea if it would be any good or not. After using it my verdict is: it's good but not worth the extortionate price tag!
Price: Around 30.00 - 240ml bottle!!
Stockists: Amazon & strawberrynet.com
Other Info: Said to throughroughly remove dirt and impurities without damaging or irritating the skin. Also helps soothe and calm skin - suitable for daily use.
The packaging isnt anything special really so Im not going to spend ages going on about it. One thing I will say is I thought the little pump at the top was a nice touch as it prevents you wasting any cleanser each time you use it and its much more hygenic than if it was in say a tub. Still for 30 quid a bottle I was expecting it to pump itself onto my face and tell me to have a nice day!
The cleanser itself looks a lot like lotion when it comes out which is about normal I reckon and appears to be quite thick and creamy. I know some people use their hands to apply this straight to their face but I think its much easier applying in circular motions with cotton wool - quicker and less messy. Then you simply wash it off with either warm water or a toner - obviously the SC company would love you to use the matching toner but it really doesnt matter to the end result.
I didnt expect this to have much of a smell to it as it is designed for sensitive skin but this actually smells pretty pleasant. Its a mixture of rose and citrus scents which isnt surprising as orange oil is one of the ingredients and even though the smell isnt amazing its lovely all the same - and quite a surprise.
Now dont get me wrong my face did feel clean and refreshed after using this (and I did use the toner from SC as well) but no more so than my regular cleanser in my opinion. This was true to its word as it didnt dry out my skin at all and by the looks it did remove all dirt and impurites but my normal 12.00 cleanser does that and its less than half the price.
This is a good cleanser dont get me wrong but I would NEVER consider paying 30 quid for it when my normal products work just as well and they are much, much less. It does work but only buy it if your loaded!
Thanks For Reading.

I decided to try Skin Ceuticlas gentle cleanser after reading several reviews on here saying how good it is. I have sensitive skin and once I find something that I can use I usually stick to it. But lately my skin hasn't been looking its best so I decided to treat it to some TLC.
I got my SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser from Amazon it cost roughly £24.00. I have found prices do vary quite a lot so it pays to search before buying. I got a 240ml bottle.
Considering the price it comes in a relatively plain bottle with a pump dispenser.
The cleanser contains orange oil which is supposed to soothe sensitive skin without drying it out. it's the orange oil that gives the cleanser its sweet citrus fragrance. The cleanser also contains skin conditioning ingredients and non irritating emollients.
SkinCeuticals say this cleanser is gentle enough to use several times a day. I have been using it twice a day.
I simply dispense a small amount in my hand and rub it into my face and neck, then rinse away. The cleanser easily rinses from my skin with no need for harsh rubbing.
After using this product I was really surprised at how my skin felt. Really fresh and soft. No drying or tightness at all, and most importantly no irritation or redness. I was very pleased with the results.
I have definitely had less spots and blemishes on my face since using the SkinCeuticals, especially round the time of my period. My skin has felt very soft and looks a lot better than it has of late, really fresh and healthy.
The price tag is much higher than I usually pay but the benefits do make this worth while and I estimate the 240ml bottle will last me a good 2 months or more.
Having sensitive skin can be unpleasant and I have sometimes in the past struggled to find products that suit me but I am so pleased with the results of the SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser. I would recommend trying it despite the price. I certainly haven't regretted it.
** Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser **
I want to look fresh every day and I find it very important to have a clean and smooth face. In order to get this I use the Skin Ceuticals Gentle Cleanser. After using several different cleanser I now stick to this one since it works the best for me. It doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't make it dry. A good friend of mine recommended this product to me otherwise I would have find the 22,50 pounds a little bit too much for a cleanser!
Yes it is 22,50 pounds but you get 240ml and you really don't need a lot to use it every day. I think I can last almost 3 months with it so that's less then 8 pounds per month. The bottle comes in white and a black pump on top which is very easy to use. The pump gives you the right amount what you need to wash your face and neck. Skin Ceuticals recommends that you use this product twice a day. I use it in the morning and at night to wash of my make up. Removing the make up goes without any problems and it removes very little bit. In the morning it just gives me a really fresh and awake feeling.
The cleaners has a very fresh sweet scent to it which you will notice when you apply it. The cleaner itself is a white cream which is easy to apply. You only need a little bit for your whole face and neck. What I really like with this product is that it's made for the sensitive skin so no irritating! When applying you should massage the cream over your skin and leave it for 1 minute before you rinse it off. The rinsing goes very easy and leaves a clean and fresh face behind.
I use the cleanser twice day since I love the fresh feeling in the morning and it really wakes me up. At night I use it to remove my make up and that goes very easy. I love the feeling and the cream really smoothing my skin and makes it soft. It has a lovely sweet but fresh scent. I know it's not cheap but it will last for a few months and it's worth it. You can also get a sample first of course to try it out before you buy it!
I usually use Lush's Herbalism as my skin cleanser but for the last 3 or 4 weeks it just hasn't been doing much for my skin so I thought it was time for a little change. A friend of mine is an absolute Skin Ceuticals fanatic and she suggested I try this cleanser and she gave me the half a bottle she had left which I was very grateful for as the bottle usually costs around the £22.50 mark and I couldn't really afford to spend that out on something I didn't know would work or not.
The cleanser comes in a 240ml bottle which is white. It is a very simple bottle and has a black pump to dispense the cleanser from. It has the little Skin Ceuticals logo and says "Skin Ceuticals". It also has a little description of what the product is.
When you dispense the cleanser the first thing you will notice is a beautiful citrus scent which comes off of it. It is realy lovely and very refreshing. The cleanser is made with orange oil so it is an orange citrus smell. The cleanser is a thin, creamy white substance which is very easy to apply. The cleanser is made especially for sensitive which makes it feel very gentle and soothing on the skin.
The cleanser is very simple to apply and all you have to do is get a small amount in your hand and apply it to your face and neck using a circular motion. I always leave it for a couple of minutes to soak in and then I remove it with warm water.
I use the cleanser to help remove my make up which it does with ease. It removes all traces of it without leaving your skin feeling oily and greasy like some make up removers do. The cleanser really moisturises your skin and takes away that oily feeling skin can get. It hasn't dried my skin out at all when using it, it just leaves my skin feeling lovely and refreshed.
I usually use this cleanser at nighttime. I do think this cleanser is very expensive but it does work wonders. And even though I have just half a 240ml bottle you wouldn't think I had been using it for 3 weeks. Hardly any has gone so I am assuming it will last me a good while yet. I do think a full bottle would probably last about 6 months. I am so glad my friend introduced me to this cleanser. I don't think I could use anything else now.
Highly recommended but I do suggest looking on eBay for a sample first to see if it works for you.
One of the Skin Ceutical products I received as a present was their Gentle Cleanser, and as I use a cleanser day and night to remove dirt and make up from the day, this was the product out of the set I was most eager to try out.
The cleanser came in a 240ml bottle, which is pretty plain, being white with a black lid, which you press down on one side in order for the other side to tip up and allow you to dispense the lotion. The cleanser does NOT have a pump as pictured in the photo, I'm guessing that's an old design.
The cleanser is pale in colour and is very nearly scentless to my nose, although there is a faint aroma of oranges about it due to orange oil being one of the ingredients. Still, I found the smell to be very subtle, which is good as I want to smell of my perfume, not of my cleanser all day.
To use this, you just squeeze out a little of the fairly thin lotion, and rub it onto your face and neck using small circular motions. The excess can then be removed with a damp flannel or rinsed off with water.
Because the cleanser is designed to be used by people with sensitive or traumatized skin, I found that although it made my skin feel very soft and pleasant afterwards, I did't feel that it had enough strength to it. I imagine this would be perfect for people with very sensitive skin, who need an incredibly gentle cleanser to avoid irritation, but for me, I found that this just wasn't powerful enough; after a few days of foregoing my usual, more hardcore cleanser in favour of this Skin Ceuticals product, I found my skin to be a bit more pimply than usual.
I waited a few more days, but when my skin still didn't clear up, I switched back to my usual cleanser, which improved my skin in a few days. I do think that this is a good product in general, but it's not suited to my skin type, especially when it normally costs around £25 per bottle. I will stick to stronger cleansers.
