I needed some face wipes , so I went done to my town centre and on that day Wilkisons was the only shop still open at that time. I went to the skin and face section and decided to try out the Wilkisons 3in1 wipes as they a cheap for cleansing wipes. My skin is only dry when gets really cold so I only used the wipes when I noticed my face felt and looked dry. After using the whole packet of wipes I won't be purchasing them again , the wipes may have helped remove dryness from my face for about an hour after that nothing else. I didn't feel the skin therapy wipes did the job claimed on the packed my face did not feel cleansed , the wipes did a better job of removing my makeup then anything else. I will keep to purchasing a better quality of wipes next time.
Skin Therapy are a budget beauty range on sale at Wilko / Wilkinsons. You can buy them in store or online, and this particular product is currently selling for 57p per pack or you can get two packs for £1. I think it's fair to say that makes these facial wipes some of the cheapest around, with the price being significantly less than you pay for the same sized packs of brand name facial wipes.
The packaging doesn't look cheap like I feel Tesco Value facial wipes too, and the wipes themselves are decent quality too. There's a resealable plastic tab on the front for convenience, but it doesn't always reseal perfectly and this can result in the whole packet drying out if you're not careful (and yet they seem to retain their scent no matter what?).
Once you've opened these up and got a wipe out, you can immediately smell the fragrance from these. I can only really describe the smell as being that of 'cheap French perfume' I'm afraid. And once you've used one of these wipes to clean your face with, and take off your make up, you're left with that stench clinging onto your skin! You can't get away from it until you wash your face, and if you're going to wash your face then you might as well have just used liquid cleanser and a cotton pad in the first place.
Compared to the fragrance free version, these wipes are a disappointment. They do remove your make up, for a very low price, and they do leave your skin feeling soft and clean as well. But unless you have a nose of steel, you're probably not going to like them any more than I do!
When it comes to face wipes I am constantly trying to find the cheapest possible wipe that does the job well, which is why I was so surprised when I recieved these as part of a gift. I had never before come across these in my years of searching for the perfect wipe. I have tried a host of brands in the past such as Simple, Boots, Morissons, iCare, Johnsons; you name it, but still somehow find the need to continue my search, so you can imagine my excitement in receiving these and learning that they can be bought for as little as 50p!
Skin Therapy 3 in 1 Fragranced Facial Wipes claim to remove makeup and cleanse and moisturise the skin at the same time. I have never seen these in shops before, but from reading other reviews it seems they can be bought anywhere between 50p and £1.00 from Wilkos. The pack has a handy plastic re-sealable lid and contains 25 wipes.
On opening the product for the first time, I was hit by the lovely perfumey smell. It was only when I removed a wipe from the pack that I realised how strong the scent actually was. Think of when you are reading a magazine and you see a glossy ad for a new perfume. You spot that there is a small sample behind a peel-away sticker. You peel back the sticker to find a small damp cloth in which you use to dab the perfume onto your wrists. Now imagine rubbing that perfumed cloth over your entire face. Would you really want to do that? I didn't think so. Although pleasant, the scent is far too strong for something which is going to be used on the face. From this I would not recommend it to anyone with particularly sensitive skin. The wipes themselves are a nice size and adequate thickness. However, I do find them difficult to wipe over my face as they are somewhat stretchy. This problem can be avoided by folding the wipe in half and half again. Further more, they feel rough and scratchy which I find to be irritating. The wipes are only just moist enough and could benefit from more moisture.
The wipes do remove makeup thoroughly and leave the skin looking clean, but red due to the roughness. Although they are good at removing my foundation, I have to use a different wipe for any eye makeup as the product states that it is not suitable to be used around the eye area. I find this to be annoying. Surely all makeup removing wipes should be made so that they are suitable to use around the eye area? Makeup for the eyes does exist! I am guessing the heavy perfume is the reason for this, or the hefty list of ingredients listed on the back of the pack. Other facial wipes I have tried have very few ingredients, but this seems to have more than most. It does, however, contain benzoic acid which seems to help my acne. The product claims to moisturise as well as cleanse, but even though I have oily skin, my face still feels like it needs a good moisturiser.
In conclusion, I must admit that I am disappointed with these as I have used Morissons facial wipes which are tonnes better and can be bought for round about the same price. I would not recommend these to anyone looking for a makeup remover or cleanser, only those looking for a cheap perfume.
On a recent trip to my local Wilko store I decided to have a proper look around. I usually just bypass the beauty and skin care aisles but on this occasion I was presently surprised by both, the choice available and the prices they offered.
These Skin Therapy 3 in 1 wipes cost just 57 pence for a packet of 25 wipes. As they are from Wilko's Skin Therapy range, they are only available to purchase in store from Wilko or on their website.
The wipes come in the usually packet style packaging of most facial wipes. On the top of the packet there is a pullback sticky tab that reveals the hole in which to pull the wipes out of. I haven't had a problem with the stickiness of the tab and it carries on resealing until the wipes are all used up, thus keeping them fresh and moist from the first wipe to the last. As the wipes are so cheap, the packaging isn't that spectacular looking and is plain white with little detailing.
The wipes themselves look exactly like you would expect. They are white in colour and have a textured feeling to them. The size seems to be just right and when unfolded flat, I can fit my entire hand on it without any troubles so they do cover a big surface area. These are supposed to be fragranced wipes, but as far as the scent is concerned, it is hardly noticeable. There is a subtle fresh, clean smell but no sort of floral or sweet scent to it which is a bit of a shame but not a massive deal.
The packaging boasts that these wipes are an easy way to cleanse, tone and moisturise all in one go. I use these to remove my make up at the end of the day and find that they don't require much work to remove all of my makeup including waterproof mascara at times. My daily makeup only consists of eyeliner and mascara and one wipe is more than enough to remove this. As far as the claims to tone and moisture are concerned, my face doesn't feel like it's been moisturised and I carry on and use toner and moisturiser after using these wipes.
When it comes to value for money, I think these Skin Therapy 3 in 1 wipes represent fantastic value for money. The wipes are as fragranced as I'd have liked and don't really tone or moisturise my face so I will knock a star off but they remove my makeup and clean my face without much effort required. They are definitely recommended by me.
A couple of months ago, I started to stock up on items ready to take to our static caravan when I spotted these in Wilkos. Always looking for a bargain, I was quite impressed with the price of these, 67p for a pack of 25 wipes and the price was made even better as there was an offer of 2 for £1 so I quickly picked up two packs.
The wipes come in a plastic pack with a re-sealable sticker lid on top, I have found that the sticker does a good job at keeping air out of the pack as the wipes stay moist until I used the last one. To remove the wipes from the packet can be a little tricky, if I pull two hard, I can end up with two wipes coming out, although this isn't a problem as I just stuff the other one back in the pack, it is a little annoying! The wipes don't have a luxurious feel to them and are little on the thin side (especially if you compare to No 7 wipes) however they do a good enough job and don't tear or disintegrate when being used.
The wipes are classed as 3 in 1 as they are meant to cleanse, tone and moisturise, while I think they are great at cleansing and toning, I would always apply my regular moisturiser on top otherwise within about 15 minutes of using, my face does feel a little dry. As with most facial wipes, these are PH balanced, allergen free and dermatologically tested, I have nearly used both packs now and haven't had any reactions or problems using them.
When away, I use these wipes twice a day; after I have showered in the morning and then in the evening before bed, I find they perform equally as well on both occasions. After both uses, the wipes maintain their 'wetness' and in the evening, there are able to remove a face full of makeup easily. The wipes leave my skin feeling clean and fresh,
Overall, these wipes are ideal for a quick fix or for holidays, there are a couple of downsides however at about 2p a wipe, these are ok so I would recommend and give 4 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
When it comes to face wipes they are only something I have started to use more regularly in the past few months. This is because as a trained beauty therapist I was taught to cleanse, tone and moisturise all with different products. However I've got a bit lazy doing this to be honest unless I had used make up then I knew I had to go through the routine but I soon started coming out in spots for not giving my face a quick cleanse of some kind daily which is where wipes came in.
I have tried many different varieties some expensive, some cheap and oddly enough the ones I've spent more on haven't been all that effective for me particularly when it came to removing eye make up. These at 57p a pack I tried rather a long time ago and usually they are the ones I pick up and are the ones that I am using at the moment.
The packaging is simply a mainly white plastic oblong packet and in the middle of it there is a resealable see through sticky area to which is where you pull the wipes out of. On the front of the packet we are told that they are Skin Therapy 2 in 1 Fragranced Facial Wipes 'The easy way to cleanse, tone, moisturise and delicately fragrance your skin, all in one go' an that they are PH Balanced, Allergen Free And Dermatologically Tested and that there are 25 wipes in the pack. On the back of the pack other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and how to use them, ingredients and warnings are listed and finally contact details for Wilkinson's (these are a Wilkinson's own product by the way) are also given. Nice enough packaging, simple and informative enough this is and what I do appreciate about these is that the sticky panel really is just that enabling me to keep these a good while without them suddenly drying out or anything.
Well these wipes are material, white in colour and not very thick at all and made of soft material which is stretchy and they are square in shape and bigger than my face. They are moist and not drippy to handle, and have a sort of mixed fruity aroma to them I think. The fragrance isn't very distinctive at all but nice and light enough and of course men could use these to freshen up with if they wanted to as well.
To use them of course you simply wipe your face with them. On a cleanish face (make up free) I find one wipe lifts all grease and grime with ease, for light make up again I find one wipe satisfactory though for heavy and/or dark make up I find that I need a couple of wipes to rid myself of it all and to need to use up a bit of time and some effort to complete the task.
This struggles with back eyeliner and mascara though it can with perseverance be removed. I do find these refreshing and that they leave my face nice and soft to the touch and feel and I haven't had any issues with my skin since using them.
I do think if you wear a lot of make up maybe you need a thicker, more expensive wipe so you don't have to work so hard with these to remove it all however as a general face wipe, particularly in this hot weather we are having at the moment these are great for cleaning up with on the cheap!
Only available in Wilkinson's stores.
I used to use facial cleansing wipes a lot when I was a teenager, because I was always in a rush to get my make up off. Now that I am older, I tend to find that using a traditional cleanser, followed by a toner and moisturiser if needed, produces better results. This is probably because I take more time over each stage and therefore do a more thorough job. Nevertheless, I usually have at least one pack of face cleansing wipes in the house for those late-night-and-early-start days. I buy the Simple ones most often, but last year I decided to try Wilkinsons Skin Therapy 3 in 1 facial wipes as they were available on a 2 for 97p offer. Individually, they cost 57p for a pack of 25.
Skin Therapy is a range of skin care products produced for Wilkinsons. These wipes are said to gently remove make up, cleanse, tone and moisturise the skin. They are formulated to suit all skin types and are free of alcohol and lanolin. The ones that I bought are fragranced but there is also a unscented product in the range, which I have not tried.
Like most skin wipes, these are sold in a plastic packet with a resealable flap. I have had some difficulties with similar packets before as the flap tends to loose its stickiness after a while. This can lead to the wipes drying out and becoming unusable. Thankfully, the Skin Therapy packet has a secure flap that re-seals easily. I had an unopened packet in my bathroom for 6 months and when it was started the wipes were still in perfect condition.
When I first opened the pack, I was surprised at how large the wipes were. I thought that the cheaper price may mean that they would be smaller than average. However, once they are unfolded they are large enough to cover your whole face in one go. The scent is mild - I would describe these as lightly perfumed with a cucumber-floral aroma that is fresh and pleasant. I would not like a highly scented wipe myself, as I think that can be a bit overwhelming when used close to your nose. The sheets look smooth and feel soft to the touch, which is I want in a product to be used on my delicate face.
USING THE WIPES
I think Wilko have got the feel of these wipes spot on. They are not too wet but at the same time they feel moist enough to be pleasant to use. They glide over the skin, and feel very light on the face. They are sturdy too. I have never had a problem with the wipes falling apart or leaving any "bits" behind. This was another thing that I thought cheap wipes may be guilty of. Cleansing my face in this way is certainly very quick. I find that one wipe is ample for one session, in fact I sometimes feel I could have got away with using half of one. This makes them especially good value.
I first bought these to take away on a camping trip. During that time I used the wipes every day for a week. I found that they dealt well with all my make up, removing liquid foundation, pressed powder, eyeshadow, and concealor with equal ease. I did not try them on waterproof mascara, but they dealt with the regular kind easily. I never felt the need to scrub away at my skin to produce results. They dealt with any shine, but I felt at that time that this effect was not as long lasting as it would have been using my usual seperate toner and cleansers. Once the cleansing was over, my skin felt lightly moisturised and smooth to touch. I didn't experience any discomfort or redness - just a nice refreshed feeling.
When I came home I decided to continue using the wipes as my primary cleanser. After 2 weeks though, I began to be unhappy with the results. They still continued to remove cosmetics and obvious surface grime, even after a day at the allotment. However, I noticed that the large pores around my nose were becoming blocked more often. I continued using the wipes for a while longer, but when I noticed that the pore strips I use weekly were loaded with deep down dirt, I stopped. I think the wipes are probably just not suited to someone such as myself whose face really needs regular deep cleansing.
As a short term , or occasional replacement for a standard cream cleanser, these wipes worked fine for me. As a longer term substitute, they did not. If you are planning to try these as an everyday product and have skin like mine you may find the same is true. Those with less problem pores may find they they work well enough. I have kept the remaining wipes to use when I feel tired at the end of the day, and doing so every so often has caused me no problems. For the price I think these are a high quality product as they do not look or feel cheap. Well worth trying to see how they would suit you.

=== The product ===
Twenty Five Facial wipes to remove make-up, dirt, cleanse, tone & moisturise the skin.
=== The packaging ===
These wipes come provided in a standard facial wipes packet. It's a plastic packet with a sticky tab on the front. The tab can be peeled back and then the wipes can be used. The wipes are folded together so that you can remove one at a time and bring the next wipe up to the opening of the packet. The sticky tab is designed to keep the wipes fresh.
=== Do these work? ===
For me, yes! I have found that these wipes work well at removing most traces of my make-up, but not always all mascara traces. The wipes are very simple to use, my skin feels a little tight after using these like when I use plain soap but they're not drying at all. My skin is left feeling clean after I use these wipes and it takes of all traces of foundation, eye shadow and lip gloss with ease and these tend to be what I wear on a daily basis if I'm just at home or not doing much special.
=== Where can I buy these & for how much? ===
These are available from Wilkinsons stores for under £1.00. I'm not sure of the exact price because my Mum picked me up a couple of packets of these earlier in the year.
=== Overall opinion ===
I quite like these wipes. They have a textured feel to them which makes them feel like they're really working on my skin. They don't carry no real scent to them which is important to me as I tend to suffer with skin breakouts when using certain perfumed products. My skin feels clean after use and I've not been suffering with patches of dry skin anymore.
I have used these wipes for around 2 or 3 weeks now, on occasion I may use two wipes a day, it depends what I've been doing and whether I want to reapply my make-up. In this time I have seen a reduction in the amount of spots that I have been getting. This is probably down to the fact that I have been taking much better care of my skin since I have not been going to work but it could also be helped by using these wipes at least once a day.
Sometimes I do find that I need to use two wipes to fully remove my make-up & clean my skin but that's probably because I wear quite a lot of mascara when I go out in the evening and it's fairly difficult to remove with just one wipe, mainly because of feeling like the wipe is used and not wanting to keep using the same dirty wipe. If you really wanted to use just one wipe a day then you could probably use it to remove most, if not all, make-up, I like to know that I'm being hygienic though so two wipes will suffice for me on occasion.
Overall I am pleased with these wipes, they aren't as high quality as others that I have used and sometimes I need two but I know the price was under £1.00, so very reasonable, and I have seen a reduction in the amount of spots that I am getting which is fantastic progress for my skin and this makes these a definite winner for me!
I have always used face wipes just to give my face a quick cleanse and remove make up at night before bed, I find that the bigger brand names can be so expensive at £3-£5 a pack! After seeing these in Wilkinson's about a year ago, two packs for 99p I couldn't pass these up, even if they were rubbish I didn't have much to lose. I have now been buying these religiously for well over a year now. I have sensitive skin and a lot of face wipes I have used in the past really sting and burn my face but these are absolutely fine for my skin. They are really moist so you don't have to scrub too hard to cleanse your face.
They are white in colour and have lots of small bumps on them and these really help in the exfoliation as the bumps give the wipes more texture to scrub the surface of the skin. They do not have a strong scent, they just smell clean but to be honest the fragrance of them isn't important for what they need to do.
A pack will last me just under a month with 25 wipes in a pack so when it only costs me approx 50p a month then I think this is one of my best buys. I just hope Wilko's never discontinue these! I now have both my sister and my mum using these wipes. After cleansing your skin these wipes leave your face feeling squeaky clean which is what I like, I then use my moisturiser after as these do not really contain much moisturiser in themselves.
If you haven't used them give them a go, I'm sure you'll find another use for them if they do not agree with your skin but for me these save me a packet every month. 5 Dooyoo stars for performance!
I've recently discovered how cheap things can be at Wilkinsons and that they stock a big range of beauty items. It is now one of the first places I think of when I want to get something that is well priced. These face wipes come in a pack of 25 and you can get any two packs for a pound (there are also exfoliating wipes and age related wipes) so I thought I'd give them a try.
Although I've used face wipes a lot in the past, I don't normally use them these days as I prefer washing my face to make sure that it is thoroughly cleansed. However, I can sometimes be a bit slack and skip washing my face because I'm too tired to spend any longer in the bathroom. If this is the case, I just do the first part of my routine, which is to wipe my face with Garnier cleansing milk to quickly remove my make-up.
Now that I've got the wipes I just use them to remove my make-up. The only problem is that I should have read the pack better and realised that you can't use them on eyes. Other reviewers have said they use these to remove mascara, eyeliner, etc but the packet clearly warns not to use near eyes and to rinse thoroughly if in contact with them, so I will not be taking the risk.
Nevertheless they are good wipes, and I think they are a bargain for the price. They are an average size wipe, rectangular in shape and sufficiently moist. The '3 in 1' part of them relates to the fact that they claim to cleanse, tone and moisturise, which they do well. My face feels refreshed after using them. They are fragrance free which is great for my fussy, sensitive skin and unlike other wipes it doesn't feel as though you have just wiped a load of chemicals around on your face.
Considering the low price, I'm really impressed by the quality of these wipes and would definitely recommend trying them.
Rectangle shaped wipes, and are fairly cheap to buy. The tend to come in packs of 25 and are made of a soft white material.
Ive used them often and they do keep your face feeling fresh. Sometimes when removing makeup, washing your face really well doesnt always get rid of mascara and eyeliner, and you can make your eyes sore if you rub them.
The skinology wipes just seem to "erase" the smugged mascara and make your eyes feel and look quite refreshed really.
I have noticed with other face wipes that they can leave your face feeling tight and dry, so you have to moisturise straight away. However, with these it is not the cas, my face feels lively and smooth and perfectly balanced and not tight at all.
One thing i will mention however, is to make sure you really reseal the pack after using one or two, the seal isnt the best, and the most annoying thing ive had is that ive come back to use a wipe, and they have all dried out! :( as long as you press it down really well, it should be fine, if not, just place the pack in a little food bag and they should be fine :)
I would also mention that they can sometimes make your face feel a bit tender, if you have really sensitive skin i wouldn't reccomend risking it.
Overall i think they are a pretty good buy, they are a really fair price, and do just as good a job as its more expensive competitors.
Skin Therapy 3 in 1 facial wipes..you would pass these by in Wilkinson's and think that they are a load of rubbish, 2 for 99p, pfft!
I picked up these when my usual face wipes were out of stock.
I was so surprised and ever since using these I haven't gone back to my other ones, these baby's are great.
The price of these are 2 for 99p in Wilkinson's, great price for 50 face wipes.
The appearance of these used to be quite boring, plain white packaging just like above..but the other day I went into Wilkinson's to get some more when I seen they had none anywhere, I was heartbroken because every product I seem to use eventually gets discontinued! But luckily, I went up to the 2 for 99p box and see this funky new packaging, it isn't that different, a few bright green patterned leaves over the plain white but boy does it look better, the face wipes INSTANTLY stand out more and would make you want to buy.
On the front it has the Skin Therapy logo, underneath it has more information about the product.
On the back it has ingredients, what they do and how to use.
*The Actual Product*
So on the back of the face wipes it says:
"Now's your chance to cleanse, tone and moisturise all in one go. ( ooh, great! )
"Here is a really gentle way to take off your make up, toning and moisturising at the same time, they're ideal to use even if your skin is sensitive or delicate."
In a packet, you get 25 face wipes.
The pack which I have are fragrance free, I have seen though you can get fragranced ones, I have used these ones before but I can't really smell a difference if I am completely honest.
I wear a lot of make up on a daily basis ( foundation, powder, blusher, bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, lipgloss, sometimes eyeshadow! ) so as you can imagine I need good face wipes that will be effective with removing all of my make up and not hurt my skin.
The face wipes I have don't have a smell to them, maybe a very VERY light fresh smell, unlike a lot of other face wipes I have used in the past, these aren't dry, they are very moist ( sorry, I know a lot of people hate that word! ) hmm, I will say damp then :)
I find these incredible at taking my make up off, I use a gentle circular motion whilst taking of my make up off with these and it comes off very easily and doesn't hurt my skin at all.
I find the result afterwards to be just like using a expensive brand facial wipe, my skin is fresh and feels extremely clean.
If I am honest I don't find that these moisturise my face, but I always moisturise before bed anyway so that doesn't really bother me, I just like the fact that these really do take away the make up and leave your face looking great!
I use these in the morning to, I find they really help 'wake' me up.
I highly recommend these to anyone who is spending more than 99p on 50 face wipes, they are worth a try because they really do work.
Skin Therapy Facial Wipes
When I got in wilkinsons I always end up getting some kind of face, bath or body products, and it does not seem as guilty as it sounds as wilkinsons products, especially their own ones, as super cheap.
*About the product*
In the pack there are 25 wipes, the packet says that they are pH balanced, hypo-allergenic and dermatologically tested. The product information on the back says, "For all skin types but in rare cases may cause an adverse reaction" - which if I read at the time I would not have bought them, but I have not had a adverse reaction to them.
*My opinion of the product*
-Packaging, Scent and Additional information
The packaging is god, although there is one flaw with it, the sticker that seals the wipes in the packaging does not stick down completely, this makes them dry out quicker than other wipes I have used, such as simple wipes.
I didn't know whether the wipes would be ok for my skin as they are fragranced, my skin is quite sensitive and some products really don't agree with my skin, so I was a bit cautious about using these. I would have bought the non fragranced ones if I had seen them but they are ok. The scent of this product is quite nice, nicer than some other products such as this and it smells quite sweet, like baby powder/talc.
Using the product and results
I find that this product is super easy to use, the actual material that they are made of is really soft, smooth and they don't feel harsh on my skin. The material is also quite thick, it does say on the front of the pack that they are "even thicker" woo!
I don't wear lots and lots of make up, due to my sensitive skin, but I wear a tinted moisturiser, waterproof mascara, a neural or brownish eyeshadow and a little bit of a black or brown eyeliner on my upper waterline and I find that this product is really great at taking that off. I think that it is really good at taking off all of my make up, and also it is great at taking off my waterproof mascara. The wipes are also really good at removing my waterproof clinique gel eyeliner, but the as less successful at removing my ELF liquid eyeliner, which to be honest I have not found any wipes or eye make up remover that can remove that product really well!
Also with some other cheap wipes in the past I have found that they make my skin feel really tight which is not good and also they can make my skin feel dry too, but this is not the case with this product at all - no dryness, greasiness or tightness.
The only bad thing about this product is that when I use them, for about a minute afterwards my skin can feel tingly, not tight but just a little bit irritated but this seems to go away after about a minute or so. Also after using them my skin goes a bit red, especially on my cheeks but this again goes away but it probably takes about 5/10 minutes for the redness to subside - I have not had this problem with other wipes, such as the simple ones or the boots cucumber ones before - and for this reason only I will not be buying them again, but other than the slight irritation and redness they are great, I think they would work really well for all skin types other than sensitive skin.
I also find that after I have used one they are great for other little cleaning tasks, such as cleaning the white board that I keep all of my reminders on and also the coffee cup circles on my desk!
*Price and availability*
I bought these from Wilkinsons and as far as I know you can only buy this product and others from the skin therapy range from wilkinsons. I bought two packs of them as it was on offer (But I think it is this offer all the time) - for 2 packs for only 96p or 98p which is great!
*Very quick and easy to use
*Handy - for a range of things! :)
*pH balanced, hypoallergenic
*Removes my make up well, even my waterproof make up
*goof for traveling, camping and on the go
*Does not make my skin feel tight, dry or flaky
*Irritates my skin a bit - it makes it a bit tingly and red (but because this is a big factor as my skin is sensitive I will not be buying them again - maybe if they make sensitive face wipes then I will get them instead), but other than that they are fantastic
*Sticker seal on the front does not close well
Thank you for reading my review
I try to take care of my skin and, when I have the time, will cleanse, tone and moisturise like the best of them, but, in a busy week I don't always have time for such a demanding skin care routine. That's why I like to have some face wipes handy as I find them so convenient when I'm pressed for time.
I've tried various brands of face wipes, with varying degrees of success. I have quite sensitive skin and have found that some wipes can be quite harsh and cause my skin to flare up (blotchy redness is not a good look). I also find that some of these products can be vastly overpriced at almost £5 a packet, which, in my opinion is far too expensive for a pack of (what are effectively) throw away towels. That's one of the reasons that these skin therapy wipes caught my eye when shopping in wilkinsons - at £1 a pack (or usually an offer in the region of £1.50 for two packs) they were a great price.
Each pack contains 25 wipes and opens like a packet of tissues, with a resealable opening to the pouch so that it can be resealed and the remaining wipes do not dry out. The wipes are for sensitive skin and fragrance free and are 3 in 1 - cleanse, tone, moisturise.
I find the wipes really effective. They remove all my make up, including tough waterproof mascara, really quickly and, relatively simply. The waterproof mascara needs a bit of rubbing, but it is all removed without the need for seperate eye make up remover. On occassions, they have caused my skin to flare up but I think this is mainly due to vigorous rubbing (when I have worn heavier make up than usual), but never-the-less they may not be suitable for more sensitive skin types.
I tend to at least rinse my face after use as it can feel like it leaves a slight residue, so not great if you are on the go and don't have time for a quick rinse. They also leave my skin dry, so I'm not convinced on their moisturising properties as my skin always feels a bit 'stripped' and in need of moisturising after use.
The wipes are soft though, and stand up to the test well without any ripping.
In summary, these are good value for the price you pay and really handy and convenient to use if you are in a rush. They are effective at removing make up but can feel drying on the skin.
Skin Therapy 3 in 1 Wipes
Skin Therapy 3 in 1 wipes can be purchased at Wilkinsons for as little as two packs for 97p. Now, with such a low price compared to many other skin wipes, I was a little unsure as to how good they actually were.
The pack comes with 25 wipes. The wipes are quite thick with a slight rough texture to them. They are reasonably durable though if you wipe your skin too hard with them, holes will start to come through.
These face wipes are fragranced. The fragrance is quite a strong one though certainly not unpleasant. It has a fresh smell to it though not one I can easily describe. It is not as 'fresh' as other wipes and does remind me somewhat of washing up liquid! Again, I reiterate, though, these wipes do not have an unpleasant spell though perhaps not the greatest in the world of face wipes!
When removing makeup or every day grime, the wipes seem to be quite effective though some grime and makeup residue can still be found on the skin, even with washing your face before. I find that two wipes work as well as typically one wipe should, so in fact you are wasting money as you need to use more (though the price is only about 50p each at Wilkinsons prices!).
The wipes feel quite rough on the skin and they do not leave the skin feeling refreshed. They do feel quite wet in the pack though this does not seem to last once on the skin.
The wipes are hypo-allergenic and PH balanced.
For 50p each, the wipes certainly will not break the bank, though you need to use two wipes where one should do, and the rough texture does not make the skin feel nice at all.
