THE SKIN WISDOM RANGE
I discovered that this range sold exclusively in Tesco stores has won awards for its skin care products. Skin Wisdom was originally launched in 2001 and the range of products was created with Bharti, the founder of the The Bharti Vyas Method and the Bharti Vyas Centres of Holistic Beauty therapy in London.
This range developed in conjunction with Bharti is now 10 years old and to celebrate this they have chosen to create new products and re-launch some old ones. The range now includes : Instant Benefits, Youth Protect, Ultimate Lift, Age Delay and Skin Essentials and these ensure that you can select a product that suits your age and skin type
INSTANT BENEFITS RANGE
This part of the Skin Wisdom range offers products to solve many common skin problems. This collection includes : Peel Off Face Mask, Beauty Balm, Tinted Moisturiser (Fair / Medium), Derma Polish , Moonlight Renewal Cream, Line Eraser, Lip Shine, and Facial Wipes.
I can't say anything about the other products as I haven't tried them and I only tried this as it was in an aisle reduced section and I bought it for £3 which was half the normal price. I was quite delighted to see the price and thought it was worth a try.
This came in a cardboard box which was in the Instant Benefits colour of a dark red and silver. Inside the box was a small glass pot with a wrap around plastic sleeve of in the same dark red colour and a white plastic screw top lid. It looked classy and as though it should have cost around £15 had I bought it in John Lewis or the like so I was very pleased with my bargain. The pot has 50ml of product in this classy glass jar.
OPENING MY POT
Inside the glass pot is a pink creamy slightly gelatinous feeling facial scrub. It is a dull pink colour rather like calamine lotion. It smells quite fruity and fresh which is pleasant and a bit like a berry or cherry flavoured yoghurt. I found that the texture is quite thick, creamy and rich so that you have to push your finger in to scoop a little out when you needed. It is really hard to explain how it feels as it is quite sticky in consistency so that when I poke my finger into it the goo sticks to my finger.
Naturally being a facial scrub there are bits in the creamy pink mix. They are quite scrubby so you don't have to rub too hard but they are not so scratchy as to cause any uopset to my face. I bought this some while back and use it about once a week and it has lasted a good six months using it in that way.
I have found that exfoliating with this weekly and another different exfolliator a second time during the week has helped to revive my skin and stop it looking dull. I find it best to alternate this with one of the Lush face masks with scrubby bits in it so that I get the benefits of both products and as my skin is quite sensitive I try not to over use any one product.
WHY USE THIS?
Exfoliation helps get rid of any dead skin cells which makes your skin look more alive, bright and radiant. According to the inventor of this product Bharti;
'Exfoliation is the simplest step towards a smooth, glowing complexion. Skin cells renew themselves roughly every 28 days, more as we grow older. Removing dead ones hanging around the surface will reveal fresher looking skin beneath, giving you an instant glow. So you need less make-up to hide a dull complexion. And anything else you apply on top is better absorbed. Do it just twice a week to see results."
Bharti also says ...
'Polishing is a skin care process that helps to normalize and balance the skin, whilst stimulating nerve ends and improving circulation'.
I would say that if you are on a budget this face scrub makes good sense. It is a great price even at full price of £6 as it lasts ages and it really does make a difference. If you have sensitive skin then I would suggest that maybe you try it very gently at first and go easy in areas where it is more sensitive. If you have had any reaction from face scrubs before then maybe this is not the one for you.
The mixture contains a foaming clay, acerola cherry, vitamin C and a blend of natural exfoliants and these are chosen to help your skin become more radiant by stimulating the nerve ends and also to draw out any impurities from the skin.
I use the smallest amount around the size of a large pea and I gently apply it to my damp skin on my face. I then massage my face using my fingers gently in circular motions and then I wash the product away with warm water. Having done that I always pat my face dry and then spray a little "Eau de Roma from Lush onto my face to close the pores. My face feels lovely and soft and ready to be moisturized with whatever I am using at the time.
After using this my face feels smooth and my skin looks brighter and fresher. I find that my pores are less obvious on my nose area and my skin tone is more even.
It does warn you on the jar that you should contact with your eyes and wash thoroughly with water if you do accidently get any in your eyes.
DO I RECOMMEND?
Yes I have found this a really good quality and reasonably priced product. I know buying face care stuff at Tesco seems a bit odd but it really is a great product and I am more than happy to try some of their other products in this range as they come created by a very highly recommended and award winning beauty consultant Bharti Vyas.
It smells lovely, feels nice when applied and used and has great results and at a very good price so it get my vote.
