Soap & Glory Foam Call
Advantages: The fruity aroma, the lather, the bottle, easy to use, a bargain
Why is it everything runs out at once? Even though you buy them at different times of the month, week and so on? This week was shower gel, between the Hubby and I we usually have 3 different ones on the go and as you'd expect all three ran out together, how this happens I don't know, but as my Lush order of a years supply of Snow Fairy hadn't arrived I had to run to the nearest place that sells shower gel and that was Boots. Going into Boots is always dangerous for me because those 3 for 2 offers always wait for me to walk in the shop and shout 'pick me' and naturally I am always swayed when it is a brand I like.
Besides Lush and Snow Fairy which is my absolute favourite ever product from Lush, coming in second place is Soap and Glory products and in my time I have written a fair few reviews on the Soap and Glory range. Whether it is the pink packaging, the quirky black and white pictures or the funky names the products are given, I will happily try them all and whenever I need something there is always an offer on to tempt me to try something new and re-stock on my trusted favourite products.
So the shower gel I opted for was a new product from Soap and Glory called 'Foam Call Bath and Shower Gel' and it is marketed as being a 'dual use product for both the bath and shower', well I always use Lush Snow Fairy when I am in the bath anyway to wash with so dual use or not it would get used that way. Again as with Pulp-friction which is the last product I used from the Soap and Glory Range, this too has the new 'Fruity-go fragrance' which I really like the smell of and you are simply directed to 'rub a handful on damp skin, massage until it bubbles up and then rinse'. As this was on a 3 for 2 it turned out to be the free product but to purchase it would cost you £6.50 for 500ml at the full price.
The packaging on Soap and Glory products for me is one of their main selling points, I love the dusty pink coloured tubes and bottles and the 1950s styled pictures which are present on the front of the product which usually has a woman, in a black and white style photo laughing or relaxing and in this case said lady is clearing in the bath whilst on the telephone and she looks extremely happy. Now using the telephone whilst in the bath is not something I do regularly but it didn't stop me purchasing the product. As this shower/bath gel is within a bottle it has a dispenser on the top which is really easy to use and one simply pump action dispenses enough product to be used on your sponge, puff or whatever it is you are using, or if nothing then the palm of your hand. The first thing I noticed about the product was the fragrance because it is distinctly similar to Pulp-Friction although there was a slight hint of something else mixed in. The rest of the bottle is quite similar in design to the other products from within this range in that the lettering alternatives between being pink and silver, you can clearly see the name of the product and on the back of the bottle you will find a list of ingredients. One other thing to note is that the slight creamy colour background behind the wording 'Foam Call' is the exact colour of the shower/bath gel inside to me, not quite white but not cream either, an inbetween colour.
So to the ingredients, whilst the list isn't as exhaustive and full of essential oils like Lush, there are a few which are worthy of mentioning and they start with Grape seed Oil which is a great skin moisturiser along with the rapeseed Oil which is also present. Add to that Fig Fruit extract which again is kind to the skin and has moisturising properties, next comes orange oil which helps to detoxify the skin and remove impurities which can cause breakouts of spots and it also soothes dry irritated skin. Peppermint Oil was again a surprise ingredient for me because I like with Pulp-Friction, I still couldn't detect it was there at all and usually with anything minty it stands out and often dominates the aroma, however not this time and on the skin peppermint oil is used to relieve skin irritations and itchiness but also has a cooling action which is soothing especially for those skin irritations. The final ingredient I am going to mention is frozen Yuzu and that is because I have never heard of it before and I looked it up online to find that it is comes from Japan and it is said to be best used by those who are stressed, lead a stressful life or need to relax because it has a refreshing and uplifting effect on the body whilst calming the mind but also has another benefit and that is the "upliftment to depressive states, frustration, regret and also helps to build confidence. So with all of that included and more you would expect to find an absolute brilliant product and that is exactly what you get.
Following the instructions given when using this product I dispensed an ample amount onto my bright pink Soap and Glory shower puff and massaged it onto my skin to find that it creates loads of lather in no time and you certainly need no more than one dispensed blob at any one time unless you want to be overflowing with bubbles. After using in either the bath or the shower my skin felt silky smooth and was really moisturised and more importantly it smelt wonderfully of citrusy orange aroma that lingered on my skin and throughout the house for hours after using.
This is a product I absolutely love and wont hesitate to purchase again, I love everything about it and the way it leaves my skin feeling and smelling after use.
