Advantages: soft skin, packaging, versatile, effective, cost
Disadvantages: Too many beads towards the bottom of the bottle
I have used quite a variety of Soap & Glory products, and though I have found some to be a disappointment I always return to try a new product because I have found a few gems in their range that I regularly buy. This was the main reasoning for purchasing this product as well as needing a moisturiser for my make up bag. I also love products that offer a couple of different functions as you feel as though you get more for your money. This is a tinted moisturiser with added glow which can also be used as a highlighter, in combination with your foundation or as a simple tinted moisturiser for a light fresh face. I had quite high expectations for this product as I always really like Soap & Glory face products and I felt this would be a good choice to combine with my make up.
The packaging is distinctive in design and looks like part of the established Soap & Glory range. It comes in a pearly coloured box with kitted out with the quirky humour and retro images associated with this brand. I like the design, I think it is fun and feminine whilst looking stylish. That said it is not just a style without substance brand, a lot of their products are really good. The tube inside is a wide, large sized pearly coloured plastic tube with a twist lid. It has a pea sized opening through which the product can be squeezed for application. The pearly colour and the bright pink synonymous with the brand are quite striking and give the bottle a elegant look. The name of the product as well as the distinctive brand of humour associated with the brand make this a fun bottle and great gift for friends or family.
The moisturiser itself is quite thin in consistency but as it is designed to be a light moisturiser this is perfect. It goes onto your skin easily, with tiny little bronzed balls which burst upon application you get a lovely dewy, soft glow on your skin with a slight bronze hint. I found the overall effect was really great. I thought it brightened and smooth my complexion without looking heavy or overly orange. I think this is a great alternative to holiday skin products which contain self tanner. This can be easily removed with face wipes and there is no possibility of streaky or patchy skin like there is with products that contain self tanner. I also think it is probably better for your skin as a result and mine certainly felt smooth and clear after using this product.
I tend to use it as a tinted moisturiser if I don't want to use a lot of make up or I use it as a base to hydrate my skin before applying my normal/ going out make up. I have also experimented with this product and found multiple other uses for it which work really well too and are definitely cost effective as you only need to buy this one product to achieve different looks. It can be used in combination with your moisturiser to achieve a lighter and more natural look when you are applying your make up. I think this is particularly good for when you are on holiday as you don't want a heavy face of make up in a hot country. It has SPF in it so I have found it can be quite effective as a sun protectant as well - I use this when I go away or in this country (if we are lucky!). I have also used it as a highlighter for both my cheekbones and eye sockets (underneath my eyebrow). This works really well and I would like the effect to high beam or moon beam highlighters which are available from Benefit at a considerably steeper price. In order to achieve this look you need to rub the product into your hands first to ensure the beads all burst but then it can be used in this way to achieve a highlighted look.
My only negative point would be that as your product begins to dwindle you may find the number of beads increases in each squeeze of the tube - meaning you could end up with a rather orange face. I found the solution to this was mixing it with another plain moisturiser. This solved the problem and made the product go further so I wouldn't say this was too much of an issue for me.
This product cost me around £9.00 for 75ml, although I think I probably bought this in 3 FOR 2 deal as I tend to wait until these products are on some kind of offer. I have been really pleased with it overall and am planning to repurchase it when this range comes back on an offer which will save me a little bit of money. I think the price is pretty reasonable though for a product which can be used for so many different things and which is so versatile. I think this is a quality product that I would definitely recommend as a great addition to your make up bag.
Overall? I love it, I think you'll love your daily Glow Job too.
Summary: Who wouldn't love a daily Glow Job?
