Advantages: works well, a little goes a long way!
Disadvantages: none
I am a relative new comer to the soap and glory brand in that I got my first products for Christmas last year. For my birthday this year knowing that I was a fan of the products I had already received has the brilliant idea of treating me to lots of soap and glory products and the one I am going to review today is scrub your nose in it.
Scrub your nose in it is a facial scrub which is defined by soap and glory as "a multi tasking scrub and mask marvel!" It comes in a 125ml pink tube with the usual almost retro looking soap and glory design. I am a big fan of the pink soap and glory packaging as I am a girly girl and think it looks cool and trendy as well as pretty in my bathroom!
The packaging makes a few claims such as this product
-is a simple solution for large pores and clogging
-will help refine large pores and prevent blemishes
-will leave skin looking brighter and more radiant
Whilst I don't suffer majorly with enlarged pores I do sometimes have a few and can be prone to the occasional spot too (Yep, at my age!) because I do wear make up every single day and my skin doesn't get all that much time to breathe I guess and so the product sounded appealing. What I also liked the sound of was the fact that the product also contains a pore purifying clay mask built in so it could also be used as a face mask as well as a scrub should I wish to use it this way.
To use this product I have found that it is best to do it in the morning as I get up or evening when I am having a bath and my face is free from any make up or products. I squeeze a small blob on to my fingers and apply it to my damp T zone before rubbing it in and the spreading it out over the rest of my face. The scrub is a greeny blue in colour with little flecks designed to rub your skin and leave it fresh and cleansed. The packaging tells me that it used a special fruit acid formula but all I can smell is tea tree and perhaps a hint of mintiness! I notice that as I use this product my skin tingles but I like this as I feel it is actually getting down to work and doing something for my skin.
When I wash off the scrub from my face my skin does feel very soft and cleansed. I have noticed that it is quite drying it I use the skin daily and so I tend to limit it to twice a week now. After using this product regularly as a scrub I have noticed that spots don't really occur anymore and that my pores are reduced too. My skin just looks better in general really.
I have also used this product all over my face as a clay mask whilst in the bath by applying a thin layer and then leaving it for around three minutes. My son finds it very funny that I have a blue face when I do this! Using the product in this way I find that I can feel my skin tightening as the product dries on my face and I can also feel it tingling too. Using the product in this way also makes my skin look brighter and some what healthier.
You really need so little of this product per application that a 125ml tube will last some time. The product is suitable for use for up to two years once it has been opened but I do think my tube will be used before that time but it still will last well. The product can be bought from boots for £7.40 and I think that this is quite a decent price for a scrub which works well and will last a long time. It is worth remembering that soap and glory products are often on promotion at boots as well!
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: a great scrub
