Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It
Advantages: Leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth
Disadvantages: Doesn't keep it shine free
Scrub your nose in it is a facial scrub with a pore purifying mask included which has been created by Soap & Glory. It promises to refine large pores and prevent blemishes to leave your skin looking brighter and more radiant. It also claims to leave the face fresher and cleaner, with a shine free complexion. For someone like me who has oily skin with large pores, this product seemed right up my street.
How does it work?
The product contains Kaolin Clay which absorbs oil and impurities from the skin. These oils would have otherwise lead to blemishes and a shiny complexion so the clay helps to keep the skin clean and clear. The addition of Glycerin allows the skin to draw in and retain moisture, helping it to remain youthful looking. It also contains a special fruit acid formula to brighten the skin.
How do you use the product?
The product should be applied to damp skin and then massaged using a circular action into the t zone or anywhere that you have enlarged pores. The product should then be rinsed away and followed up with a moisturiser.
The product can also be used as a mask by applying a thin layer to the face and leaving it to get to work for three minutes and then rinsing it away. The packaging doesn't say anything about how many times you should use the product, but products of this type are usually used twice a week.
Packaging and Price
The packaging follows the same retro style that is frequently seen on Soap & Glory products. It comes in a pink tube with a flip top lid and it has plenty of funny writing on it and some instructions.
You can purchase the product for around £6 and for that money you'll get 125ml of the scrub. You can buy it from Boots or a variety of online websites.
Appearance and Aroma
The product doesn't look anything like what I expected it too. It is a mint green in colour and very clay like. You can't see the scrubbing particles inside the product. The aroma of the product is quite fruity but it is mixed in with something minty and medicinal. This doesn't go along with the usual delicious smelling products from this brand, but then this doesn't matter too much in a face product.
The scrubbing particles in this product are tiny and they are barely there. The product has a grittiness to it that is present enough to do the job but having used the body scrubs by this brand, wasn't as evident as I was expecting. The product is easy to apply to the skin and although the skin is wet, the product doesn't slip off before you have a chance to rub in.
It feels gentle on the skin and the abrasive action caused by the product is good enough to do the job but doesn't hurt or feel uncomfortable. When it's time to rinse the product off, it is easily removed. My skin feels smooth and comfortable after use, and a lot of the dry skin has gone. I haven't noticed a reduction in the size of my pores but they do seem clearer and no blemishes have formed after use.
I've used the product once as a mask and it feels comfortable on the skin, even when it's been applied for a longer period of time. It doesn't dry so you can still move your face and it is still easy to remove the mask, even I find it easier with a flannel. Afterwards my skin feels really clean and fresh. It does stay oil free for a bit longer but it doesn't work miracles.
All in all, this is a gentle scrub for the face that removes dry skin and clears the pores. It leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth, while the complexion is brighter and healthier. It doesn't leave your skin shine free all day but it does help to keep it at bay for longer.
Summary: A facial scrub which doubles up as a mask to keep the skin clean and clear
