Advantages: Nice smell, a little goes a long way, lovely packaging
Disadvantages: Doesn't actually shrink pores
I purchased this mask/peel after seeing a review for it in a magazine, where they tested 4-5 home facial peels and The Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel was rated the favourite. I am a fan of soap and glory products anyway, and as I have quite oily skin, I thought I would give this a go.
First of all, I LOOOOVE the packaging of this product. Most Soap and Glory products have gorgeous packaging, and this one is no different. Its in a square box, with a picture of a woman on it in black and white, who looks like she is from the glamorous era of the 1950's. The box is pink and white, which is a girly combination.
Moving on to the product itself now. I purchased it from Boots, and it cost me £7.15. At first, when I opened the packaging and looked at the size of the tub, I thought it was rather small and that it wouldnt last me that long. I was wrong though as you only need literally a grape sized dollop, as the instructions suggest, so it lasts longer than you first expect it to. The packaging also lists the active ingriedients of the peel and explains what they do, so it is nice to know what your putting on your skin and what the functions are.
On opening the tub, I could smell the product straight away! It smells really fresh and clean, and almost slightly minty. It has little blue/green beads in the mixture, which dissolve as you apply it to your face and rub in. The box says to leave it on for 5 minutes for a quick refresher, or 15 minutes for a 'do it yourself' facial. I personally tend to use the mask once or twice a week (depending on the state of my skin) and leave it on for 15 minutes, but I think its a personal choice as to how long you leave it on as everyones skin is different. The product is quite thick but is easy to apply and has very good coverage. It tingles very slightly, but in a refreshing kind of way. After 15 minutes is up, I use water to wash the peel off, and almost instantly my skin feels zingy and rejuvenated.
I am not fully convinced that it actually shrinks pores or makes them invisible, but I do find that my skin feels tighter and refreshed after using it. I do like this product, and I personally think it is worth the price, but if you are expecting it to do exactly what it says on the tin per se, then it probably isn't for you.
Summary: A good product for people with oily skin, but isn't really a 'pore shrinker'.
