Solutions by Hive Clarifying Cleansing Cream 1
Cleansing your face properly has to be one of the most important things in any skin care routine, without a cleansed face it means your other facial products won't work properly, leads to blocked pores, which leads to blackheads and spots.
There are loads of different cleansers out there, ranging from high end to low budget end. Personally I find all cleansers to work well even low budget types.
I bought this from a company called Solutions by Hive; the company was launched in 1994 in Staffordshire, Tamworth. Hive supply the beauty and spa industry including collages.
If you don't know what skin type you are theses are the categories.
Balanced Skin: Balanced skin is just what it means; it has a good balance of oil and moisture to the skin. There are even skin layers, which mean even skin tone. Facial pores are small or invisible, texture of the skin is soft, supple, even colour and healthy looking. Skin sometimes feels slightly warm to the touch; this is due to the good blood supply. You rarely develop spots and blemishes.
Dry Skin: Dry skin looks matte and has uneven texture. This is due to their not being enough sebum at the surface of the skin; natural moisture becomes lost from the upper layers of the skin structure.
The skin often feels tight and always in need of a rich moisturiser. Usually pores are small and the skin itself is thin. Unfortunately this skin type ages prematurely resulting in fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, which is very common.
You will also find you have dilated capillaries around the nose and cheeks.
Oily Skin: Oily skin produces more sebum than is needed, thus you always having an oily t-zone or generally oily all over. Skin surface appears shiny, thick, dull and often looks grimy. Pores get a build up of sebum and grime resulting in enlarges pores and blackheads. Blackheads are seen on the chin and nose. Spots and blemishes are more likely to be present.
Combination Skin: This skin type is where there are different characteristics on the face resulting in different skin types, mostly dry around the cheeks and oily on the t-ztone.
Sensitive Skin: All skin types are sensitive at some point, sensitive skin is said when skin is hypersensitive and over reacts to the mildest products.
The skin flushes very easily making it red and warm to the touch. Dry skin is also most likely to be sensitive.
This particular cleanser comes in two sizes, 150ml and 500ml. The bottle itself is clear plastic with a pump action lid that distributes just the right amount of cleanser to cover your face and neck.
The bottle is also recyclable once it has been cleaned.
The product itself is light blue/green in colour; it feels rich when rubbing it between your hands and it also feels rich when applied to the skin. I wouldn't call it heavy; more of a luxury feel to the skin, after all it is used in salons, spas across the world.
It doesn't smell like other cleansers that smell all floral this one smells fresh and feels fresh when applied to the skin.
One of the ingredients in this product is Aloe vera. Aloe vera is known as an herbal medicine that is used to treat minor burns, sooth skin, moisturise skin etc.
It also has sea extracts in this cleanser making it exceptional value for its money.
To use this product press down on the pump action lid and you can use one pump (or more if you prefer) into your hands and rub together. Apply directly to your face and massage it in circular motions paying particular attention to your nose, chin etc where makeup and dirt can sit. You can also rub this product onto closed eyes to help with the removal of eye makeup. Also take it down to the neck area.
When complete use a warm sponge or flannel to remove all traces of cleanser from your face.
After using this product for the first time I noticed my skin felt smooth, clean and fresh. There wasn't any tightness that can happen with other cleansers as they just dry the skin out.
Because this product has sea extracts init that helps to deep cleanse the face and help to close pores this I found to be true but I wouldn't say it "closed" my pores, which was disappointing.
It is good for dry skin because of the luxury/rich feel but it is also good for oily skin types like me as it helps to take away the oil leaving you with a matte appearance.
This product wont leave you shine free all day but it does help with dryness.
I would recommend repeating the above step (cleansing) to make sure your skin is clean and all traces of makeup, dirt and grime have been removed.
When you cleanse your face first you are just removing makeup and some dirt from the day, a second cleanse makes sure all traces of makeup, dirt and grime are gone from your pores leaving you with clear skin that is ready for toner and moisturiser.
It is recommended using a cleanser twice a day, once in the morning and once at night before bed. I have read a few reviews on forums and word of mouth that not everyone cleanses in the morning as they think they don't need to as they haven't been anywhere. This is not true and I wouldn't recommend it.
Before you go to bed this is a good time to stock up on products as your skin has time to recover through the night while you sleep. This is why most night creams are richer in texture as you skin drinks it at night. Because of this in the morning you will find your skin needs a good cleanse to "remove" last night's regime.
The best thing about a cleansing cream is that it melts quickly on the skin making it very easy to work with and massage into the skin, it penetrates the pores dissolving makeup and grime. Creams are not absorbed into the skin so it provides a good deep cleanse.
I have used this product for 6 months; it is long lasting as you need little to cover the whole facial area and neck.
I am pleased with this cleanser and at £3.95 for 150ml I wouldn't say it is expensive although there are more cheaper ranges out there that might do just as well as this does.
~Price and Where to Buy~
150ml costs £3.95 and 500ml costs £6.95 a complete bargain in my eyes.
You can purchase it off http://www.hive-online.com
I would recommend this product to anyone, it is responsibly priced, lasts a long time and a general all round.
