This scrub takes me back to my university days as this was what the girls in my house always used. I would sometimes pinch theirs and so when I was looking for a new scrub lately I decided to buy some of this again! It is a very good scrub that works very well but it is also very rough so it is harsh on skin despite it being a 'sensitive' formula so if you do have sensitive skin it may not be for you.

It is important to exfoliate regularly so that your skin can repair itself and help to 'glow'. The dead skin cells can be washed away by using a scrub which is important for the skin. Of course you can find alternatives such as body brushes and special rough flannels to which you can just add some shower gel to wash with but I do like to use an actual body scrub, I like to feel the rough particles against my skin as it feels like they are actively working.

This scrub by St Ive's comes in a white plastic tube which stands upside down so it means that it is easy to get the scrub out. I don't think the packaging is particularly appealing, you can buy an alternative version of this the 'gentle' scrub and I think that one is far more appealing looking. This looks quite dated actually and it could do with being see-through so you can see how much have left and also just how grainy it is before buying it. There is a peach coloured strip in the middle and pictures of apricots. It is obvious when looking at it what you're getting so this is good.

The lid is a flip lid. It is really important that after using it you shut it properly. If you don't close it properly then it will get a bit manky, any bits of scrub which is exposed will dry out and the lid can be awkward to close again.

I like that it is a flip lid though as it means it is easy to open whilst you are in the shower and have wet and possibly soapy hands. It's also very, very easy to close it too without getting soap/scrub all over it. I always tend to rinse this in the shower too to make sure none of the scrub is stuck to it and because it's not got any paper on it like my other body butters and things have it doesn't effect the packaging at all.

The scrub itself is extremely well packed with the particles of scrub. This is supposed to be for sensitive skin but it is very, very rough. You can buy a more gentle one which seems to be more gel like and have less particles than this. This one is creamy, a pale brown colour with dark brown particles in it. It's cold to touch which is quite soothing and feels nice on the skin. When you rub this into your skin you can feel it scratching away.

I find that it is quite hard to rinse off thoroughly, sometimes I do still feel residue of it on my skin so if you use this you will have to spend a bit more time than you would normally rinsing your skin completely clean of this.

The smell is of apricot but also something else... I'm not sure what but it reminds me a little bit of the smell of Immac/Veet which isn't too appealing! It's not a great smell really but luckily it doesn't stay around for long!

After using this yes my skin feels so much smoother it really does. It is lovely to feel like it's worked well on my skin and i do think it has a little shine to it which is nice. It hasn't caused any rashes or blemishes despite being rough and my skin being sensitive so the sensitive element to this does work. At the same time my skin feels a bit tight too after this so I like to moisturise afterwards.

I do not recommend that you use this on your legs if you have just shaved though as this can cause a bit of a reaction and make them sore.

In my opinion it doesn't smell great, it's hard to rinse off and it's not all that appealing looking but it does work well as your skin will feel nice and smooth afterwards and have a nice healthy glow to it.

It's hard to know what to score it out of 5 but I think 3 will do as it's got some good points but there are better products on the market so I would recommend trying some others out first and definitely check the smell of this before buying it as it is a little odd!
