St. Ives Apricot Scrub
Advantages: Gentle yet effective facial scrub
I managed to grab myself a free sample of this St Ives Apricot Scrub a couple of weeks ago and have been using it every few days since then. The sample I have is a 30 ml tube.
The Apricot Scrub is made by St Ives, which is a brand I have never used or bought before now so I was keen to try it. It is made by an American company, Alberto-Culver, who also make Tresemme and VO5. The scrub comes in a predominantly white tube with the blue St Ives branding on the front and some colourful apricot fruits indicating the flavour of the product. The tube has a description, ingredients and how to use instructions on it, very handy.
The St Ives Scrub
St Ives claim that this scrub gently exfoliates the skin by removing dull surface cells to instantly reveal smooth, radiant skin. It is oil free, non-irritating and contains 100% natural exfoliants and 100% natural extracts.
This is the Apricot flavoured face scrub, St Ives make a lot of products with this ingredient due to their powerful antioxidant content and apricot oils that are known to hydrate and nourish skin. Also in the scrub and what gives it its texture are corn kernel meals from ground corn and walnuts.
The first time I used this I was very, very impressed. Having never used a scrub product before I was a bit wary about it being harsh on my skin, but it is nothing of the sort. To use the scrub you dampen your face with warm water and squeeze some of the scrub onto your fingertips, two pea sized amounts should do it. Then you massage the scrub all over your face surface.
You can immediately feel the rough parts of the scrub removing all the dirt, makeup and oils that your skin accumulates during the day as you massage it. The fruity apricot smell is nice and subtle but feels really nourishing and fresh on your face. I massage for a couple of minutes, making sure I cover my entire face and neck.
After the massage you simply rinse off the scrub with warm water and you are left with amazingly renewed and clean feeing skin. My face has never felt so clean and smooth and I am only disappointed that I hadn't tried this before now. The corn meal and walnuts totally remove dirt and clear pores from my face which is really good for combating blemishes too. I will definitely be buying a full sized tube of this when my sample has finished!
A 150 ml tube of this costs £3.99 in Boots, which I think is a great price for such a quality product that really works and gives amazing results.
Summary: I Highly recommend this Apricot Scrub, fab product!
