I have always been a fan of St Ives Apricot Scrub, it's the face srub I have been using for many years now. As I was running out I went to Superdrug to get more. It always seems to be in the Buy One Get One Free offer.
As luck would have it, it wasn't on right then but they did have a 3 for 2 across the range. I was grabbing a handful of them when I noticed some new lines I had not seen before. I decided to branch out a little and bought this, The Warming Scrub, as part of the 3 for 2.
The reason that I bought this, apart from the special offer of course, was that I have many times tried and enjoyed using the Montagne Jeuensse face mask which heats up so thought it would be much the same.
The tube is well presented. It's a muddy brown, a promising colour for a skin mask, with a white wrap-around in the middle telling us that it will 'relax pores for a deeper clean' which I am all for. There is a nice picture of a sunflower on it. So far so good.
The first thing that surprised me when I flipped the tube open was the appearance. I expected something brown or maybe see through or something. Instead, it was cream with pink bits in, not at all what I was expecting or keeping in tone with the outer packaging. To be honest it looked like the top of a kids' cupcake!
But not to be put of by its appearance, I splashed warm water on my face and started applying this. To my disappointment, it only got lukewarm (maybe they should change the name) and didn't get to a temperature where I felt it could be doing anything advantageous, it felt a bit gimmicky in that way.
It did feel like it was cleaning my face and as a scrub, it's fine, average size beads and a reasonable foam. But I still felt let down.
More so by the fact that it strangely got in my mouth a few time, absolutely disgusting and when it went in my eyes, it stung for about an hour or two after even after rinsing with cold water. Now I don't normally get products in my eyes or mouth so don't really know why this was being like this but overall, I was not impressed and would not buy it again.
If you want to try it, it costs £5.10 at Superdrug.
