A collagen infused moisturiser for the face.

Last month I went somewhere I should probably never be allowed to go again... thankfully it's not considered illegal but it probably should be for the sake of my bank account. My friend did a nail course a couple of years ago and at the end of the course she was given a card that grants her access to a beauty and hair care warehouse in my local town. She had to pop in one day and so offered to take me along. I could hardly contain myself when I walked in there and immediately opted for a trolley rather than the sensible basket option. The only way I can think of to describe the place is by referring to it as a girl's version of Santa's grotto! The shelves were stacked with beauty products, hair care products and make up... in the end I had to limit myself despite everything being so cheaply priced otherwise I probably would have needed to have an extension on my little terraced house!

One of the products I treated myself to was something I'd seen in my local salon, a facial moisturiser with collagen from the Strictly Professional brand. The moisturiser comes in a large white bottle with some purple detail on it to add a little colour, and it contains 500ml of the product. It also comes in a 150ml bottle too I think. The moisturiser itself is slightly off white in colour and has quite a salon scent to it which reminds me of the rather exclusive smelling products used by salons. It's quite a pleasant smell and it's also fairly mild meaning it's not overly obvious once I've got it on. The moisturiser is quite thin in terms of consistency which allows it to be dispensed by the pump action, this is so much easier than having to unscrew a lid I find and I can see why salons prefer the pump action.

The moisturiser is quite rich and it does take about half a minute to fully soak into my skin. Once it's been absorbed my skin doesn't feel greasy as all but just soft and supple. I also find that my foundation and the rest of my make up goes on really easily and evenly on top of the moisturiser too. The magic ingredient of the collagen apparently helps to improve the skin's appearance, making it softer and smoother - both of which have become more evident in the three weeks since I've started using the product. I've been using this on a daily basis and can't say I've noticed a single fault, despite having quite sensitive facial skin this hasn't caused me to break out in spots or any sort of irritation at all.

Despite the rather misleading name of Strictly Professional suggesting the products should only be available in salons, this brand can actually be bought on lots of websites including Amazon. It's currently priced at £5.88 for a 500ml bottle on Amazon which is a real bargain, I managed to get my 500ml bottle for around £4.50 from the wholesalers but I've seen it in salons for as much as £15 for a 500ml bottle. I'm giving this four stars out of five as it's affordable if you buy it off the internet or from the wholesalers and it does a great job of keeping my skin soft and smooth too. The only downside is that I think it's only suitable for quite dry skin, I've been using it on my arms as well recently and it's caused them to become a bit too over-moisturised in a sense as they're now feeling a little greasy so you do need to be careful not to overuse this. Overall a very intensive product!

      Thanks for reading.
