WHAT IS IT?
Body lotion from Superdrug. It has got a fruity cranberry and pomegranate smell.
The body lotion is quite thin and watery, it takes longer to absorb than most of the body lotions that I use but when it starts to sink into my skin it is faster to rub in the rest of it. I do not think it smells very strong when I am rubbing it in and that is a pity because it has got a stronger fruit fragrance when I smell it out of the bottle, I would like it to transfer to my skin but it does not do that very good.
WHAT I THINK
I like this for a cheap body lotion but it is not effective enough for me to use it regular and it is very basic so I do not feel like I am using such a good product on my skin.
I like that it keeps my skin soft and moisturised but if my skin is dry it does not add moisture enough to be effective at rehydration. I use it after I have been swimming because it is enough to stop my skin from being dry and I know that I will have a shower and apply a better body lotion when I get home. I think it is good for applying in the summer also because I think body butters are too rich for the skin when the weather is hot.
I was gifted this bottle and it is a nice change to use something that I would not choose for myself but I will not buy another bottle when this has been used up. I would like it to be creamier and for the smell to be stronger on my skin, it is light though and that is an advantage in some body lotions for me but I think that I prefer to use a lotion that feels more like luxury on my skin.
My body lotion is 200ml and it has lasted for quite a long time because it is so thin that you do not have to use very much to moisturise your whole body. It costs about £1.50 and you can buy it from Superdrug only.
3 Dooyoo Stars.
I have recently become a bit of a Superdrug convert, only recently realising how many brilliant beauty products they stock and their own range is fantastic and at very affordable prices. One of the nicest moisturising lotions from Superdrug I have tried to date, has to be their own brand Cranberry & Pomegranate Lotion. This comes in a 300ml sized plastic bottle and costs only £2.99. This bottle doesn't stand on its head (it's the right way up) and has a plastic lid that opens by snapping it backwards to reveal the smell hole underneath. As the plastic on the bottle is fairly flexible, it's quite easy for me to be able to dispense the lotion and get out exactly how much I need.
I love everything about this lotion, from the way it makes my skin look and feel to its smell. The consistency of this lotion is actually thinner than I had imagined it was going to be, but this hasn't put me off in any way and I love the way it's so easily absorbed into my skin and dries off in an instant so that I can quickly get dressed and get on with what I need to.
As this product contains essence of both cranberry and pomegranate, you can possibly imagine the wonderful smell it has. It's like a fruit sorbet and I love to apply it to my skin straight after a bath or shower. The fragrance isn't too sickly sweet, as you might imagine, and it lingers on my skin for about an hour or so after I have used it.
The lotion is ideal for my dry patches and I like to use this all over my body, especially my legs and the tops of my arms. It's a great lotion to use as a primer before applying fake tan as it prevents the self-tan from streaking and the smell sort of covers up the biscuity smell that so many fake tans often have.
Overall, I really rate this moisturising body lotion very highly. It smells lovely, it moisturises so well and it is really a rock bottom price that won't break the bank.
I was given this body lotion as part of a little hamper full of skin care and beauty products last Christmas. I am quite fussy when it comes to what I use on my skin due to having sensitive, eczema prone skin so I wasn't too impressed as I knew that it would be heavily scented and probably quite chemical heavy. After a few months of leaving it sat in a draw untouched I thought that it was time I tried it and surprisingly I really like it!
A 300ml bottle of this body lotion retails at just £2.99 which I think would put me off if I had bought it my self as I would have assumed that it would be cheap and nasty but in my opinion it is as good as most of my other body lotions, all of which are at least double the price of this one and it is great value.
I have been using it most days for about a month now and the bottle is still over half full. The body lotion comes in a bulky plastic bottle which reminds me of a shampoo bottle. Though the bottle is okay appearance wise (doesn't look cheap or anything), I find the bulkiness of it a little off putting, though this isn't something that will be effecting my overall rating of the product.
The body lotion itself is a nice consistency - not runny but not too thick, and it spreads over my skin easily and sinks in to it within minutes. It doesn't feel heavy, sticky or greasy and my skin feels instantly hydrated and moisturised even if I only use a small amount.
I was a bit hesitant about using it on my arms at first as is where I usually get eczema and I still have a few small patches of it. I was worried it would make it flare up or irritate it but I've used it to moisturise my eczema loads of times now an it hasn't made it itchy or anything and it moisturises and smoothens out any dry patches.
As well as being great at moisturising my skin and leaving it feeling soft and smooth, it also smells delicious! It is a fruity, sweet fragrance which surprisingly doesn't smell artificial or overpowering. It doesn't linger on my skin for very long but the smell is nice while it lasts.
I am going to give this body lotion five out of five stars as its really cheap, smells amazing and leaves my skin moisturised, soft and smooth. I highly recommend this body lotion and I am really pleased with it.
I've been using a variety of Superdrug's own-brand body lotions for quite some time. I have sensitive, dry skin so I've learned the hard way which ranges agree and disagree with me. Superdrug's Cranberry & Pomegranate Lotion is one that my fussy skin loves.
The product is available in a 300ml plastic bottle for around £3, although Superdrug often include it in multibuy offers. The bottle is made of a translucent, soft, thick plastic and has a snaptop lid at the top.
The bottle is of a stable shape which doesn't topple over easily, and it is easy to squeeze. However, the snaptop lid hinge is often poorly made and I have broken several lids over the lifetime of a bottle. When this happens I either have to leave the top of the lid to one side (resulting in cream drying into a goopy mess on the lid!), or fitted the top back on as best I can. Neither solution is satisfactory, so I consider the lid's construction to be a major design flaw.
For me the best aspect of the product is its delicious smell. The pink-coloured cream really does smell of cranberry and pomegranate. Whilst most people associate cranberry scents with Christmas I use this lotion during the summer months as it has such a light, fruity scent. I find it compliments my mood and other toiletries in the warmer weather.
The cream is very runny. For me this consistency is both a positive and negative quality. Being thin, the cream is absorbed into my skin very easily and doesn't leave any residue, just the beautiful scent. But it is far too easy to squeeze too much out of the bottle. I have done this on many occasions, and my strategy of squeezing the bottle and trying to suck the excess cream back in is only ever partially successful.
I use a lot of body lotion as I like to apply it to my whole body after a shower. I find a bottle of this product lasts me around a month with daily use.
At around £3 for 300ml I think this cream is good value. The smell is heavenly and always puts me in a positive mood. I think this lotion is a good choice for use in the summer months.
A recent discovery
I discovered this lotion in the back of my bathroom cabinet just recently - I have had it for a while but as I tend to use body butters and richer creams most of the time, this had been forgotten. But I am trying to use up all my stuff at the moment so I dug it out and have been using it most days for over a week now.
This is from Superdrug and is part of the company's own line of beauty products. There are a range of fragrances available and this, the cranberry and pomegranate range, also includes a body polish, bath essence and body butter. This costs £2.99 for a 300ml bottle.
Simple and light
This comes in very basic packaging, as it comes in a plastic bottle with a fliptop lid. It has a nice pic of the inside of a pomegranate on it. You can see through the plastic that the cream is a nice pale pink colour.
The cream itself has a light texture, but it is rich enough not to drip. It pours out of the bottle quite quickly, so you have to be a bit careful. This smells really lovely and it reminds of raspberry scented lotions I have used in the past. It is a light and fruity fragrance, and it isn't too sweet or sickly. It is just my kind of scent!
A bit of effort required
So far so good .... but the first problem I have with this lotion is that it does take a bit of effort to rub in. It doesn't sink straight into the skin like other creams I like - instead it takes a bit of effort to get it to sink in. But once it's all rubbed in, it leaves skin feeling nice and smooth, with no stickiness or greasiness.
Disappointingly, the scent of this lotion doesn't seem to linger at ll, and I really can't detect the scent of this very much once it's applied, and after a few hours it is barely there at all.
Overall this is a decent enough lotion for the price but it's nothing special really. It does moisturise the skin nicely, but I would prefer to pay a little more for a richer cream with a smell that lingers!
