I picked up these wipes at the till area in Superdrug for two reasons. Firstly my stash was low on wipes and I always like to keep some spares in and secondly, Marie Curie is the charity I fund raise for at work (I'm in a network of charity champions) so I always try to support Marie Curie outside of work too. I didn't see the price but noted 15 percent goes to charity so it sounded a good deal.
The bright yellow packaging is rather cheering on these face wipes. On closer inspection you get 25 wipes, for normal skin and it also says on the packaging that these are good for cleansing and moisturising and gently removing waterproof mascara. These are designed for normal skin, whatever that may be!
I just remove one wipe from the pack and use it to remove a full face of make up. Even with heavy make up one wipe is enough. I also use them in the morning to remove any left over eye make up (which I call panda eye) and it just freshens up my face before I apply the next load of make up. I also use them for wiping up make up spills, cleaning my dressing table and the back of my hand once I have mixed my primer, tinted moisturiser, foundation, cream blush or whatever else I am mixing up.
I checked the receipt later and they were only a pound so quite cheap really.
I like the wipes, they work well, I do still have to moisturise afterwards so I think that bit is a claim too far! But they are good at removing make up and they are always moist without being soaking wet. They are also a good size when unfolded which is why I think they are capable of removing a full face. I have used smaller ones that do not so there must be some merit to this equation.
I will buy these again as I like the way Superdrug are supporting their chosen charity this year and the wipes are nice and eye catching in design too. I don't think you can go wrong for the price paid.
I have to say I'm not very loyal when it comes to skin care products, I normally just pick up whatever is on offer. Before Christmas I was in Superdrug and amongst the crowds I was hunting for some face wipes, there wasn't much on offer and as so many people kept going up and down the aisles I couldn't have a proper look so these skin essential wipes caught my eye at 99p and said fragrance free which is ideal for me as I have sensitive skin.
The wipes come in a dark blue packaging, pretty plain really nothing fancy but for 99p I thought I would give them a go. The wipes themselves are white and fairly thin, there are 40 in a pack. The wipes are a 4 in 1 cleanser to help remove eye make-up, tone and moisturise. They are dermatologically tested, approved by Superdrug skincare specialists and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Superdrug do not test on animals.
I only use wipes in the evenings when I am removing my make-up before bed. That evening I opened up the wipes and pulled one out, straight away I noticed they are not quite as wet or soft as some branded wipes which I immediately thought might be a problem as I've found the wetter they are the easier it is to remove eye make-up. There isn't really much of a smell to them which is what you would expect from fragrance free wipes. The wipe managed to wipe off my foundation, powder and blusher fine but struggled with my eye make-up (I use waterproof mascara and eyeliner) so I had to go over my eyes a few times. However, the wipes did not irritate my eyes or skin at all which I was very happy with. My skin also felt quite smooth and fresh afterwards.
The next morning was the big test to see if I would have panda eyes, I looked in the mirror and there was a small amount of mascara under the eye which I obviously was unable to remove with the wipe but not as bad as some other cheap wipes I have used in the past.
I would buy these again if nothing else was at a reasonable price but they wouldn't be my first option although for 99p they do a reasonable job. As with most things, you get what you pay for!
Although I try to stick to a cleanse-tone-moisturise routine, there are times when I am simply too lazy to bother with all that faffing, and so wipes can be a very handy alternative for those kinds of occasions. I tend to just buy wipes whenever I see them around at a decent price, and these Superdrug 4 in 1 wipes that cleanse, remove eye makeup, tone and moisturise all in one really appealed to me, not only as a great time saver but also as a space saver when travelling. They cost just 99p for 40, so they're also very economical.
These fragrance free wipes are both vegetarian and vegan, and are suitable for sensitive skin. They come in glossy plastic packaging, with a peel pack sticker that enables the wipes to be removed- which is easy to do one at a time, I've never had an issue with more than one coming out at a time. I have had an issue however with carrying these in my bag - all manner of gunk gets affixed to the sticky peel back part, which then prevents it from sticking, and causes the wipes to dry out a bit. If this packet were to have a click down opening portal, that really would make the design much better, though I imagine it would push up the price.
The wipes are bright white and very wet- perhaps a little too wet really. They are quite smooth, and feel very refreshing on the skin, but they are not so smooth as to prevent getting a good cheek pinkening scrub going. They are very thick, so being a bit rough with these won't break them - and I like to be vigorous when cleansing. I do find that they do remove most makeup admirably, although waterproof eye make up sometimes takes a bit more effort. I also find that these make my skin tingle when I use them, though not so much as to actually be irritating.
I do find my skin quite wet after using these - I never have to use a moisturiser, but I do have to dry off with a towel! Overall though, I think these wipes are great for cleaning on days when I can't be bothered with the whole routine, and do save space when travelling provided they are packed within a plastic bag where no much can interfere with the seal. I do try to keep wipe usage to a minimum now as I haves ome rather nifty washable sponges, but again, these are great when they are all in the wash.
4 stars -one off for packaging that doesn't stay sticky for long.
I've been using these facial wipes for a few months now and can't reccommend them enough! These are only available from Superdrug and they're part of Superdrug's own brand 'Skin Essentials' range. They are available in-store Superdrug and can also be purchased via Superdrug's website.
There are a number of different scents to choose from including cucumber and camomile, although I buy the fragrance free ones. The wipes are priced at just £1.99 for each pack of 25 wipes, although they're often on offer and they are currently priced at just 99p - I always stock up whenever they're on offer as you can't really go wrong at that price! There is a larger pack available too, which retails at around £3 - this contains 40 wipes. These wipes are 4 in 1 - Superdrug claim that they cleanse, tone, remove eye make up and moisturise.
The wipes are specifically designed for sensetive skin, although they are suitable for all skin types. They've been dermatologically tested and approved by Superdrug skincare specialists, which I think is great considering how cheap they are. The wipes are cruelty free, as Superdrug do not support animal testing. They are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The wipes come in a compact, rectangular dark blue packet which is made of a thin plastic-like material. The branding is quite minimalistic and the Superdrug logo (a star) is on the front of the packet along with the product name and a brief product description which states that the wipes are 4 in 1 and it goes on to list what the wipes do, so it is clear from looking at the pack what the product does.
Opening the pack is simple; there's a thin, sticky sheet of plastic stuck on the front of the pack and this peels off to reveal a little opening where you pull the wipes out. It is important to then stick it back down properly, else the wipes will lose their moisture. I usually pull out two or three at once as the wipes stick together, but as it takes at least two wipes to remove my eyeliner/mascara alone, none of the wipes go to waste! The wipes are white in colour and they're quite soft with a smooth feel to them, so they gently glide across my skin. They are a decent size and they aren't overlly moist which I actually like because liquid doesn't ooze out of them into my eyes or onto my face, the wipes simply clean my face without making it feel overlly wet if that makes sense and they don't leave any dampness or residue behind.
The wipes are pretty effective at removing mascara but removing eyeliner can be a bit of an epic, especially if it's waterproof! Even after quite a lot of attempts in getting the eyeliner off there are still traces left behind, so I usually have to use makeup remover anyway. Despite this though, the wipes leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed and I've never had any issues with them making me break out in spots or anything like that, which is impressive as I have such sensetive skin! I am not really sure if the wipes live up to the claims of being moisturising as I moisturise twice a day, but they're certianly not at all drying. The wipes are brilliant value for money and are very efficient at cleaning my face and leaving my skin clean and refreshed, although if you wear a lot of eye makeup and you're after facial wipes that can remove makeup quickly and effortlessly, then these probably aren't for you.
Overall, I give these wipes four out of five stars. They're great value for money, are gentle on my skin and they're very cleansing. Because the wipes aren't great at removing eyeliner, I have knocked one star off but I still reccommend them.
Wet wipes are an essential when traveling, I decided to buy a few packets of these wipes for my holiday as they were an extremely reasonable price, £1.99 for forty wipes which promise to cleanse, remove make-up, tone and moisturise. What more could I want? They are also fragrance free which is perfect for sensitive skin and means that I couldn't possibly be put off by the smell.
These wipes worked well at cleansing and removing make-up. I'm not sure how well they worked at moisturising though as I didn't notice any difference in my dry skin after using them daily.
Perfect wipes to carry around in my handbag though as they are small, and useful when traveling to allow me to freshen up when no shower was available.
i wouldn't say that these wipes are the best quality and if you have very problematic skin maybe specialist wipes would be better for you. However for the needs that I had these wipes were perfect and the price was very agreeable.
Of late I have been purchasing and using a lot of facial wipes. They can be rather expensive so when I can, I stock up on cheaper options though as a rule they really are not as effective as far more expensive options in my opinion however I hate shelling out alot of cash on something I use to wipe my face with and throw away it has to be said!
I spotted these in Superdrug costing £1.99 and decided to give them a go purely because I have sensitive skin and these are fragrance free!
Dark blue plastic oblongish packet with a see-through plastic resealable section to the front of it. On top of that I am told that they are Facial Wipes Fragrance Free For Sensitive Skin '4 in 1 cleanser, eye make-up remover, toner and moisturiser. On the back of the packet I am told that they are dermatologically tested and that they are approved by Superdrug skincare specialists, the ingredients are listed, I'm told that they are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans and that Superdrug is against animal testing and that the pack contains 25 wipes and contact details for Superdrug are given. Plain looking packaging this is but it's all informative enough and the resealable sticky bit to the front does actually do it's job rather well at keeping the wipes fresh and moist for a decent length of time!
Well the wipes are white and oblong and not all that thick or wide really but robust enough. You simply are meant to wipe over your face with one of these and they are of course meant to remove grease, grime and of course a whole host of make-up products.
They are none fragranced and fairly moist though sadly, they are not all that great. They do remove light make up but seriously struggle to remove dark and/or stubborn make-up which usually results in using about 5 wipes...so economical in the long run? Maybe not when you think about it.
On the positive side though if you use a few of the wipes you can remove all make-up, they don't upset my sensitive skin although as for containing a moisturiser I think not to be honest. My skin isn't left with any residue on it but at the same time doesn't feel particularly soft after using these.
These are an economy product that do the job in hand with perseverance but me...I can't be bothered with this time consuming act considering I only use wipes for quickness!
Only available in Superdrug stores costing about £3.00 for the 40 wipe size and £1.99 for a 25 wipe packet like I own.
