==Price and Availability
I decided to buy a couple of these exfoliating face masks as they were, and still are on offer for buy one get the second half price. One of the masks I chose was the Superfruits Exfoliating Mask which costs just 99p, meaning that two of these masks costs just under £1.50 when on offer. Being a Superdrug product these masks are only available in Superdrug stores, three other varieties of mask are available, strawberry, apricot and ice blast.
==Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Face Mask ==
The face mask comes in a sachet, as many of these masks do. On the right side of the sachet is a picture of a girl with the mask on while the left side is the Superdrug branding and a little information about the mask. On the back of the sachet there's a longer description and directions on how to apply the mask. The mask should be applied just after you've washed and dried your face making sure to avoid the eye and lip areas with the mask. The sachet easily rips open from the side and the mask is really easy to just squeeze out. The purple mask has a really lovely fruity scent and a summery purple colour to match; it's quite sweet but not overly so and cheered me up on a rainy January day.
The mask is just the right consistency and is easy to apply to the face, I found that the sachet has quite a lot in it and I didn't use the whole mask in one use even though I applied it quite thickly. As soon as I applied the mask to my face I could feel the exfoliating part of the mask, these are strawberry seeds according to the sachet. As I rubbed the mask over my face I could feel the exfoliation working, it's not harsh just quite subtle but it does make your skin tingle a little bit. The mask should be left on for between 10 and 15 minutes, after only a few minutes the mask starts to dry and harden. When the time's up you can remove the mask with warm water, I tend to use a flannel as it's easier to get the entire mask off this way in my opinion. I found the mask was quite easy to remove, although initially it was a bit stubborn as I found it had set quite hard on my face. Again, when removing the mask and rubbing the flannel over my face I could feel the exfoliating strawberry seeds working again. My skin felt lovely and smooth when removing the mask, my skin almost felt revitalised and my Mum did actually mention that it looked brighter. My skin stayed nice and soft for some time, I used the remainder of the mask thinly about a week later and once again I was really pleased with the results.
I would really recommend the Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Face Mask to anybody. The mask is really fruity and summery and the exfoliation element really works as it makes the skin feel extra soft and fresh when the mask is removed. These masked are only quite cheap, especially when they're on offer and I will definitely be picking up some more next time I'm near a Superdrug.
I recently bought this face mask as part of a 4 for 3 deal in Superdrug. I chose this one because I love to exfoliate my skin, and the name 'Superfruits' put me in mind of a lovely fruity scent.
USING THE PRODUCT
I found this much easier to use than a clay mask. The product isn't very thick, but it was very easy to apply this and get good coverage. The mask is lilac in colour and smells just as I expected it to, very summery and fruity. The mask was gentle, I didn't feel any stinging at all with this, only a slight itch as it started to dry. It's recommended to leave this one for 10-15 minutes, and since It didn't sting I left it for 15 minutes.
Washing this product off was a lot easier than with a clay mask. Some parts had dried, and these were more difficult to wash off, but overall the mask washed off with minimal effort and minimal mess in the bathroom.
After removing the product and drying my face, my skin definitely felt soft and smooth. I can safely say that the product did what was promised. My skin felt clean and cleansed, and I was very pleased with the results.
WHAT'S IN IT?
Raspberry, Cranberry and Blueberry extracts to deeply cleanse and purify pours. Strawberry seeds to gently exfoliate the skin.
Suitable for Vegetarians
I loved this product. It's value for money at 99p, and as part of a 4 for 3 deal is excellent. It's suitable for sensitive skin, it didn't feel uncomfortable apart from the itch while it dried. I'll definitely be buying this product again.
When planning a relaxing night in, I always include a face mask in order to feel fully pampered! Years ago I wouldn't have even gone near a face mask for fear of irritating my temperamental skin, but as I got older my skin had become better and is now not as sensitive to skin products. So I thought I would give these face masks a try!
The first thing that caught my attention to Superdrug's own brand of face masks, was the price. At just 99p per sachet, I couldn't resist them! Compared to other face masks, these are very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of product you receive in each sachet!
I was pleasantly surprised at the scent of this mask as it was very strong and fruity. Some other face masks I have tried have been under-whelming in their scent, so I was very pleased with Superdrug's own brand being so powerful and fruity!
This particular mask is the exfoliating masks which contains Raspberry, Cranberry and Blueberry fruit extracts. "Experience the true power of fruit!"
The product itself is thick and a light purple colour. As this face mask is an exfoliating one, is does contain some hard textured granules, which are the Strawberry seeds and as the packet states are used to 'gently exfoliate the skin.'
Once applied to the skin, avoiding the lips and eye area, the face mask begins to harden after at least 10 minutes. It is quite a strange sensation when the face mask is hardening and it makes your whole face feel very tight!
After the recommended time, you can wash of the face mask with water, but I usually use a face cloth or wipes to remove the product from my face.
After using this face mask I did not experience any problems with my skin like break-outs or redness, in fact my skin looked and felt softer and definitely ex-foliated. I usually use one of these face masks about every 2-3 weeks and I haven't experienced anything negative from using these masks.
I would certainly recommend thee face masks, because of the price and the quality of the product. I haven't actually tried all of the face mask range, but so far the others which I have tried have been just as great!
At 99p, you can't really go wrong with these face masks, and they are ideal for a relaxing, pampering session on you own or to enjoy with friends!
Thank you for reading!!
Ok, I have never before used any of the Superdrug masks because I personally prefer sheet masks. However, a 3 for 2 offer and they were only 99p ... who would say no to that! I picked up a pack of this and I wasn't really excited to try it out because I didn't have much expectation of it. A 99p mask... like whats that going to do... Oh boy was I wrong.
First of all, I want to say that the amount of product you get in this face mask is crazy. I tried to pack on as much of the face mask as I could but still nearly half of the packet was still full. This was helpful as my sister also used it. So for 99p you don't get 1 mask but in reality 2.
I loved the smell, colour and consistency of the mask. I smell was fruity but not overpowering. Quite calming to tell you the truth. The colour was a nice lilac, which is a change from all the green and grey masks that I use. The consistency was perfect. It wasn't too thin and runny so it didn't dribble of my face but it wasn't so thick that made my face feel heavy.
One key tip. I don't think these masks dry up because I had this on for half and hour and it still didn't dry up. This, I think, is a positive thing because as I have dry skin my face dries up more when the mask dry up.
Removing the mask was quite enjoyable. As it was an expoliating mask I didn't just wash the mask off, I gently massaged my face ( especially my nose where I have blackheads often). Slowly with warm water, I washed it off and DAMN! My skin felt so SMOOTH and it looked RADIANT. I noticed that majority of my blackheads where gone which made my skin look radiant and bright. Also, some of my dry patches were gone! I thought this was only good for dry skin however my sister is combination and oily skin and she was more shocked than me!
Overall, I think we found a real gem in Superdrugs. The appilcation was great, the amount of product in each packet is a lot, the texture of the mask is nourishing and the end results are amazing! There not much I can say but next there is 3 for 2 in Superdrugs, you know what masks I will be grabbing ;)
I bought this face mask a couple of weeks ago as it was on offer (buy any 3 Superdrug branded face masks and get one free). I'd never really noticed or tried the Superdrug face masks but thought that it seemed a brilliant offer so I took the opportunity to stock up - I love face masks! I chose a few different types. This one - the 'superfruits' mask appealed to me mainly because I love fruity face masks as most of them smell amazing and also because it is a deep cleansing exfoliating mask so it is kind of a two in one product, making it even better value. It retails at 99 pence per sachet, which I think is an absolute bargain.
One sachet is only enough for one use so it isn't really as cheap as it initially seems but it is still cheap & it does what it claims to do and it is as good quality as most higher end brands so I can't complain! I used it last night and was very impressed, and I will definitely be re-purchasing it. The sachet that the face mask comes in is easy to tear open, but if you are using it while you are relaxing in the bath like I did, then make sure your hands are dry as the plastic sort of material gets very slippery when it's wet which makes it hard to open. Once the sachet is open it needs quite a bit of squeezing to get the product out and I found that I needed to use both hands to squeeze all of the product out which make it awkward as obviously I wasn't able to squeeze it directly into my hands so I ended up squeezing it on to the side of the bath and then scooping it up with my hands and applying it that way lol - this is why I prefer face masks which come in tubes but for 99p I'm not going to moan too much.
The amount of product in the sachet isn't very much but it was enough to cover all of my face in a reasonably thick layer of the mask and I found it very easy to spread over my skin as it has a very smooth texture which I was surprised by given that it is an exfoliating mask. The consistency is very thick but not so thick that it is hard to spread over my skin and it doesn't feel too heavy on my skin either. Once on my skin the mask took some time to completely dry - at least five minutes, so instead of leaving it on for the recommended 5 to 10 minutes I left it on for twenty. Even after all that time it wasn't solid - it was hard but my face didn't feel really stiff or anything and it didn't really feel like it was doing much. While I was letting it dry I laid back and read a magazine while enjoying the fruity, sweet, good enough to eat scent which smells just like a summery berry smoothie.
When it came to removing the mask it wasn't much of an effort and this is when I got the exfoliation from the strawberry seeds in it - I removed it with a flannel and used circling motions which exfoliated my skin gently while removing the face mask. After using the face mask my skin felt very refreshed, smooth and soft and it also looked a little brighter and the slightly dry skin that I'd had on my forehead from trailing around town in the cold wind all day had completely disappeared. The mask did not dry my skin out or irritate it and i like the fact that it is paraben free and not tested on animals. For such a cheap face mask I am really impressed with the results and even now, about 12 hours since I used the face mask my skin still feels amazingly soft and smooth. I definitely recommend this face mask and I give it a well deserved five out of five stars.
I don't normally use face masks anymore because they never really seem to make much difference to my skin. So when I went to superdrugs to get some facial scrub for my quite oily skin (after running out of St. Ives) I couldn't find a good one. I saw there was a section on face masks and theses were the single use ones that come in packets. I tend to shop at superdrugs because their products are cheaper than boots but I shop at both.
They have different types:
Cooling cucumber - contains aloe vera and good for sensitive skin
Strawberry exfoliating - strawberry seed and walnut granules unplug pores
Melon moisturising - moisturises and protects against pollutants
Chocolate warming - unplugs pores removing dirt
Exfoliating superfruits - raspberry, blueberry and cranberry for a revitalised and radiant complexion
Above information from superdrug website
They cost 0.89 for one packet which has one use (it does not say this on the packet but I assume it only has one use). If you use face masks regularly then it may be a bit expensive and it could be better to get the ones that come in a tube.
I choose the exfoliating summerfruits because I've already tried the strawberry exfoliating mask a long time ago. This review will only look at the summerfruits mask as I have not used the other masks. I choose this one because it had exfoliating granules and I know that berries have anti-oxidant effects.
The packaging is a real pain. The mask is in a metal sheet scathe and its quite difficult to get the mask out of the packet. I cut the top of first and it was hard to get all of the mask out so I cut all the sides except one and then it become much easier to use. I did find it messy and all my fingers where covered with the mask and so it felt like a bit of a waste. There was however enough to give a thick covering.
The directions say to gently massage the mask which I did do at first but then I found it took too long and the mask had already started to dry and go white (its a purple colour in the packet). The mask goes all over the face but not near the eyes and lips. The instructions say to leave the
mask on for 5-10 minutes. I left it on for 10 minutes but I think that this wasn't really long enough to get good results. If I had more time then I would have left it on for 30 minutes. The mask doesn't peel off, and so it needs to be washed off. When I was washing it off I also messaged my skin so that the exfoliating salts would exfoliate my skin. The salt granules where effective without being harsh. The mask was easy enough to remove. I always seem to get problems with residue on the top of my forehead and it goes into my hair which is really annoying. I use a headband now so it's not a problem. It is recommended that the mask is used weekly.
The mask smells really fruity and the smell is really strong that as soon as I opened it the whole bathroom smelled like it. When it was on my face the smell was really strong but when it was rinsed the smell had completely gone. There are no harsh chemicals or artificial fragrance as it made from the berries so it does not irritate even the most sensitive skin. On the front of the packet it does say that it is paraben free. Paraben is an artificial preservative that can irritate sensitive skin and those with acne/spot prone skin. It is suitable for vegetarians and superdrugs does not test their products on animals.
The mask didn't have the effect I was expecting. My skin didn't seem to be less oily and my pores seemed just as dirty as before. I don't wear make up but I live in London which is so polluted and the environment has a really big effect on the condition of my skin. This is why I am always looking for products that will help to remove dirt and impurities from my large pores. This mask didn't do that at all. The packet says that the natural clay in the mask helps to remove excess oil which it failed to do because I got spots. My complexion was not bright either and the exfoliation beads didn't seem to work even though it felt like they had. My skin wasn't any softer or radiant.
In the past I have used masks that have made my skin feel really tight when the mask was on and I don't like this feeling at all. This mask didn't do that though and it felt really soothing and cooling which is good in the summer but maybe not so good in the winter months. Also some masks cause my checks to go red and stay red for hours on end but this mask didn't do that.
I've noticed that superdrugs give vouchers for 10% off branded and 25% off superdrug branded products with every transaction. The voucher has to be used within 30 days and to get the voucher code a survey has to be completed online.
Overall the face mask was cheap and a bit of an experiment for me to see if it was any good. For my skin type it didn't do much for me. I have oily skin on my T zone and normal elsewhere. It didn't irritate my skin but the results where non-existent. I will not be using this product again for clearing my oily skin but it is good as a cooling mask for summer days when it gets really hot. I think maybe if I had left it on for longer then the results may have been better.
Due to the really bad weather we have had recently, my skin has been a lot drier than and just not as nice as normal. I decided to treat myself to some face masks from Superdrug. These aren't something which I have used before now but have heard good things about them and figured I would give them a go. At the time of purchase (14/2) they cost 99p each and were on offer for 4 for 3 so I figured I might as well get 4. This review is about the Superdrug Exfoliating Superfruits Mask.
The face mask comes in a thin plastic sachet which is mostly purple. On the right side of the sachet is a picture of a girl with the mask on while the left side has the product name, description, Superdrug star logo and pictures of the fruit used inside. I have to say, out of the four I bought, this is the one with the nicest packaging as it is so bright and colourful. The back of the sachet gives ingredients, a longer description and directions for use.
In order to use this face mask, you need to begin with a clean, dry face. The sachet rips open at the side and then you are able to squeeze out the mask. I found that I didn't use the whole sachet in one go so really, there is enough for two uses as long as you don't let it dry out with the sachet already being open. Inside the sachet is a lovely, lilac face mask which smells wonderfully fruity as you open it. When applying the mask to your face, avoid the eye and lip areas.
As soon as I began to put this on my face, I could feel to exfoliating aspects of it. Apparently this is strawberry seeds but who knows. Anyway, the mask felt like it was really exfoliating my skin well while I was applying it and it also felt great on my skin. The sachet states that once applied, you should leave it on for 10-15 minutes, which I did. After only a couple of minutes of being on, I could feel the mask begin to dry and my face tighten. I love masks that do this because although it is something I think will dry your skin out, it never does. After the whole 15 minutes, my face was pretty tight. After 15 minutes, you can rinse the mask off with a warm flannel.
The mask is really easy to remove although it does set quite stiff on your face. I found that I only needed to wipe it off a couple of times in different areas to remove everything. After taking off the mask, my skin was very smooth and although it did feel a little tighter than it probably should have done, it soon softened up again once I was out of the bathroom. After only using this once, and only using half the sachet, my skin felt so much better than it did beforehand. I do wish the smell of the mask lasted a little longer as once it was removed, my skin smelled normal again and not of the fruit in the mask.
I really enjoyed using this face mask and will definitely be buying it again!
As some of you may well know I just adore face masques, they are a massive part in my skin care routine. More or less every day I will have used a masque, I normally go for calming ones due to my stressful lifestyle!
Superdrug - Superfruits Exfoliating Mask:
'This really is super! Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Mask is bursting with raspberry.
Cranberry and Blueberry extracts this mask deeply cleanses and purifies pores, while the Strawberry seeds gently exfoliate the skin- leaving your complexion gleaming'.
Last week I received an email from Superdrug as I have one of their beauty reward cards, telling me all about their new range of facial masks. Now I was rather excited as I love trying new ones, the bonus was if you took your beauty card to the till I could have one for free!
There are a few to pick from so I picked four of them that appealed to me. The first one I tried which I'm reviewing today is Superfruits Exfoliating mask. I only use an exfoliating mask twice a week, three at a push if my skin is in need of it.
My favourite brand for this kind of product has always been Montagne Jeunesse and now Superdrug has jumped on the wagon to follow their lead. I was just hoping that I would get just as good, if not better results.
When using this face make for the time the first thing I noticed was a lovely fresh raspberry yogurt scent that came from the product. It really does smell good enough to eat! I love fruity scent items so this for me was off to a good start as it didn't smell artificial either.
Now as this is an exfoliating mask I was expecting to feel some rough grains within the creamy mask mix. However the exfoliating grains are very soft and I think even someone with sensitive skin would be fine with this one. I would still always recommend a patch test before hand, like I do with every new product I try on my skin as it can re-act at times.
Most people will know how to use a mask, you just smooth it over a cleansed face and wait the time instructed and wash off. Some masks will ask to rub onto a wet face but this one stated to place over dry skin which was what I did. This mask is to be left for 10 - 15 minutes before washing off, I left mine on for 15 minutes as I just adored the aroma and the soft feel it had.
After the 10 minute mark the mask does start to dry a little, but I didn't get a tight sensation at all. Some masks when dry I have felt become tight over my skin which isn't the most pleasant of feelings. However no tightness here you are just relaxed and wrapped up in a yummy scent.
Once 15 minutes were up I started to wash the mask off, I find a damp flannel is much easier to remove a mask. When I had removed the mask I gave my face another quick rinse to make sure I had got rid of all the product from my face. The noticed I could feel the exfoliating grains more so when it came to washing the mask off.
My face looks so much more refreshed no redness just lovely glowing complexion. My face didn't have any dry sensation which does happen from time to time after using a mask. I still appealed a moisturiser but it was around 30 minutes or after I had removed the mask and normally I do it straight away.
Superdrug, had this mask before however this is now their updated/revamped version and I'm proud to say it seems to have a much better effect on my skin. The packaging is welcoming, easy to open and fun looking a bit like there competitors!
Price and Availability:
As this is a Superdrug own product it can only be purchased from Superdrug store or their web site. They are 99p each or 4 for the price of 3, I had an email stating if I took in my beauty card I would have one for free but I picked 4 up and took them to the till. However for all 4 masks it only charged me 99p!
The results I got from this mask made my skin feel great and the feeling lasted for the whole day and the following day. I would certainly use this mask again and I'm looking forward to trying the others Superdrug have brought out. So off to a good start so far.
Five out of five stars from me.
Thank you for reading.
