What is not to like when it comes to face masks? I really do love using them. If you are a follower of my reviews you will know just how much I adore them. I have my all time favourite ones and like when I see new ones to try!
Superdrug Yogurt Smoothie Mask:
'Sumptuously scrummy! Rich and cream this Superdrug's Yoghurt Smoothie Mask is a blend of cocoa butter, vanilla and honey to deeply moisturise the skin and with dead sea clay, cleanse away any impurities - leaving skin irresistibility soft and smooth'.
After already sampling a few of Superdrug's new range of face masks I couldn't help myself but go back for more! This time I liked the look of the Yogurt Smoothie mask, it looked fun and inviting so I thought why not? I use face masks pretty much every day, I just love them. I find it is a great way to relax while giving your skin a treat and a pamper.
Face masks are a little messy but I think well worth it. Some need to be applied to wet skin some can go straight onto dry skin. This one asks to be massaged over a dry cleansed face and suggested leaving time is ten to fifteen minutes.
I cleansed my face with Superdrug's Vitamin E face wash and then patted dry ready to add the mask to my face, exciting! Smoothing the product over my face I noticed it was a lot thicker than other masks I have used in the past, however it was still easy to rub over my face and there was just the right amount for my whole face and part of my neck.
The fragrance from this mask was lovely and sweet the main scents I could detect were vanilla and honey. Vanilla being one of my favourites I was rather pleased, it was easy to just relax and let the mask work its magic. While the mask was on my face I felt no irritation what so ever, it was nice and soft as so far ticking all my boxes.
After fifteen minutes it was time to wash the mask from my face, I find it much easier to use a wet facial flannel to remove. Then I splash my face with some water to make sure that my face is mask free from me skin and jobs done. Even though this mask was thicker it didn't take any longer to remove than normal.
Once rinsed from my face my face felt cleansed and smooth, even though there was cocoa butter within this mask it did fail slightly on the moisturising. My skin felt a little dry around my cheeks and forehead, so a little light moisturiser for me was needed. Then for the next nightmare! Where the mask had been on my face it sent it a little reddish, I could see white circles around my eyes and lips where the mask had not been!
So for me, a mask I will certainly not purchase again as it didn't suit my skin, I have combination skin and it states this mask is suitable for normal to dry skin. However even though I had no reaction when doing a patch test? The only thing going for this mask is the fragrance as sadly everything else for me pretty much failed.
The packaging is fun and welcoming looking, it comes in a foil sachet; easy to open you just rip the top open and squeeze up from the bottom. Now the down side for me is that it states packing is 'currently' not recyclable which does let it down for me. I personally like to be green as I can, where possible.
Price and Availability:
This mask is 99p which normally if it worked how it should, would be great value for money, but sadly it dried my skin out and made it go blotchy. To start with they were four for the price of three however they wasn't offering this when I last went into Superdrug nor can I see it on their web site.
For me the scent was yummy but that is were it ended, I had such high hopes for this mask as it started out so well. I wouldn't recommend this mask nor will I be purchasing it again.
One out of five stars from me.
