“ Brand: T-Zone / Type: Facial Wash / Subcategory: Face Gel / Wash / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I've bought quite a few T Zone products as it's a recognisable name and cheap in Home Bargains. However I'm more often than not disappointed with it..... The facial gel cleanser falls into that bracket.
It cost me about £2 for 200ml. What I have at the moment isn't a tube but a bottle with a pump action lid. I must have bought this in the past because I remember having a tube of it.
It sounds good, deep pore cleansing designed for daily cleansing, naturally anti-bacterial. Removes grease, oil and bacteria that cause spots. Prevents dead skin build up, helps with dry skin and leaves your face shine free.
The bottle is good quality and the pump is easy to pop up ready to use. The gel itself is green and smells strongly of Tea Tree- but clean and fresh. It has a nice gel consistency which pumps out the right amount with a couple of depressions.
It doesn't lather up much and takes a good rinsing to get it off. This facial wash makes my face dry and tight immediately- it doesn't 'guard against over dry skin' as claimed . I definitely need to put moisturiser on straight away. As for my pores and spots there isn't an improvement. The one thing in it's favour is that it my face feels clean.
My son can sometimes suffer from greasy skin and it is effective for that problem, it also does reduce shine. For me though it does nothing, certainly ineffective for spot and blackhead control.
I would recommend it for greasy skin but not for spots or blocked pores. I am however going to give it 3 stars as like I say it's an effective grease remover.
I was desperately looking for something that would help clear up my skin, as a teenager i'm sure you can guess that appearence is one of the many important things in my daily routine. So as usual i went hunting for a bargin and something that seemed professional. I instantly spotted this at a store called Home Bargins it was around £1.27 i think and it looked like a good product. The first time i put it on it was fine and as expected nothing happened. After all it was the first time. The second time i put it on my skin started to sting and became inflamed. I washed the stuff of and haven't used it since. Two days later my skin has broke out in dry skin all over my face and is extremely painful. I have never had any cases of dry skin before and my skin is not that sensitive. I do not know if it is something in the product of my skin has just reacted. Either way i am put of buying this product line again, and will now desperately have to hide my face until thise cools done and i can find a calmer product.
I have relatively sensitive skin which has a tendency to be dry, although I also get the occasional spot. After my latest breakout I was searching for something to help clear up my skin quickly. I spotted this in my local Morrison's and bought it for around £5, having been attracted by what the packaging seemed to offer. I actually didn't find the smell too bad as it is similar to other tea tree products I have tried previously. However, after half a week of use my skin became incredibly irritated and large, angry red patches appeared on my face. I am aware this is probably a personal intolerance to a particular ingredient, although it is a shame as I have previously used T-zone products to good effect. I have now been put off buying any further products from this particular range, simply because it took me weeks of moisturising to get my skin to calm down and return to normal. This then worsened my breakout and caused incredible frustration on my part!
My advice would be that if you are at all unsure about how well your skin will take to a new product be wary, especially if your skin is easily dried out or irritated. I have had reports of my friends using this product with no reaction but I would suggest avoiding it if you are in any doubt.
First off my version of this product comes in a pump action 200ml plastic bottle which is see through allowing you to see the liquid inside which is light green colour. It's handy to be able to see what is inside so you can see when it is running out.
What it's for................
The facial wash itself is designed for daily use and is naturally anti-bacterial. The wash is designed to help prevent spots before they come out rather than fighting spots you already have. It works by removing everyday dirt and grime grease and oil from your skin, it also prevents dead skin cells from building up.
How to use......................
To use I simply wet my face with warm water then squirt some of the liquid onto my hands then rub the gel onto my face as I rub it in it lathers slightly nothing dramatic or foam burst style but it foams a little. I rub it in, in circular motions in order to cleanse my face properly. Once the cleaning process is done I simply wash off the gel then pat my face dry.
So how to I find it..............
As I use this gel on my face the thing I notice is the smell, it smells strongly of tea tree as do all of the T-zone products I wouldn't say it's a particularly pleasant smell to wash your face in but you can only smell it whilst washing your face it does not linger after so therefore that makes it easier to tolerate. When washing my face the gel feels like any other plain face wash no exfoliating bits or tingling. It's easy to use and wash off and my face actually feels clean once I have used it.
And the results..............
I have actually found that this is a really good face wash for my skin I would say I have a combination skin it sometimes is dry but I also get oily patches on my forehead and nose and have more recently been getting spots on my cheeks and neck which I have never had before. After 2 weeks of using this face wash every night I have noticed that my skin no longer gets dry and my spots have cleared up considerably.
For my skin this product has been great it cost me £1.49 from Home bargains and I shall definitely be going back for more when this has finished 5 stars from me.
My skin is generally quite good. I get the occasional spot but it usually isn't much of a problem. What I do find problematic is my blocked pores. This isn't something that people will generally notice but every morning I spend time stood in direct sunlight with a mirror trying to see if my pores are better or worse than they were the day before. Ever since I noticed how many blocked pores I had I have become obsessed with them...okay, not obsessed to the point where I think about them all the time, it's more like a controlled obsession. I've been actively looking for a product to help me with this problem.
==T-Zone Deep Action Foaming Gel Wash==
Although I had read a bad review of this product I still bought it. Not because I didn't believe the reviewer but because I had forgotten about the review. This product just sounded so perfect for what I was looking for. It's supposed to be for deep pore cleansing so I think it was safe to assume this meant that it would help clear my pores. In addition to cleansing pores it claims to prevent spots, reduce spots, soothe skin, purify and stimulate skin renewal. T-Zone have a range of products for pores so I bought this along with a cleanser and used them both together.
Generally I just use a face wash before toning and moisturising but with this product I used the face wash, then I used the cleanser and then I toned and moisturised. You would expect that my skin would be super clean, perhaps a bit dry but spot free and clean. Sadly this wasn't the case at all. This product just didn't do anything that it claimed to do.
The first problem I encountered was that it didn't foam. I had to use a lot of this product just to get it to cover my face. Then as I used the cleanser after I realised that this face wash didn't even remove my make-up. Perhaps face wash isn't supposed to remove make-up and I've just been very lucky with face wash in the past and never had to use a separate make-up remover. I'm not going to hold the lack of make-up removing ability against it because it doesn't claim to remove make-up but it did mean that I had to add yet another stage to my evening routine. I was now using make-up remover, face wash and cleanser before toning and moisturising.
Within a week of starting to use this product my skin had deteriorated. I haven't had real problem skin since puberty and here I was coming out in spots every day. When I do get spots it tends to always be in the same few places but during the period that I was using this I was getting spots all over the place. I guess it's obvious that if it was making my skin worse it wasn't doing anything for my pores. In fact I think my pores became more clogged since using this product.
The only good things I can say about this product is that it doesn't dry your skin out and the tea tree smell doesn't linger.
This product doesn't lather, it doesn't unclog pores, it doesn't even clean skin. It basically doesn't do anything that it claims to do. This is most definitely not recommended by me.
As I am always on the lookout for new products to try and especially those which are cheaper than my usual brands I came across this face wash. I decided to give it a try as it is by T-Zone and they are quite a well known brand. Having used this for a few weeks now I have to say I am very disappointed with the results.
The face wash comes in a green pyramid shaped bottle which has the plastic cap on the base so the wash inside is always ready to come straight out when the cap is opened. On the front of the packaging is the T-Zone logo and the name of the product and on the back are the product details. For some reason the bottle has decided to write all these details in both English and Chinese.
The plastic cap is very easy to use and especially with one hand when you have poured the soap into the other one.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
To use the soap it is very easy. A small amount of soap is to be poured into the hands and then massaged into the face, once it has formed a lather then it should be rinsed completely off. This is the way which I use the soap but for me the results have not been good. It is very easy to get a lather from the soap and this can be done by gently massaging the gel into the skin all over the face, avoiding the eye area though.
The soap is clear and has a very strong smell. The smell reminds me of the Tee Tree oil fragrance and for me it is too overpowering and I am still able to smell it on my skin once I have removed all of the soap. After I first used the soap I did notice how clean my face felt but after a few minutes I found my skin felt quite stiff and tight. I then started to notice that I was getting patches of dry skin around the chin and bottom of the cheeks area. I fortunately was able to get rid of this by using a moisturising cream.
I did decided to give the soap another chance but for some reason it does not agree with my skin. My hubby uses this soap and he has sensitive skin and fortunately it has not had the same results on him so he does continue to use it. I did see some results on my nose and a did see one or two less small blackheads but as the dry skin was more noticeable I will not be using this again.
The front of the bottle claims this removes grease, oil and bacteria which can cause spots but in my case it also removed all moisture!
The back of the bottle has a warning and this is to avoid getting the soap into the eyes, if this does happen then they should be rinsed with warm soapy water. It is also recommended that this is used or a morning and night time for the best results.
The ingredients to the soap for those wishing to know are:-
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Bethain, Ammonium, Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, PEG-7, Glyceryl Cocoate, PEG-55, Propylene Glycol,Oleate,Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tee Tree), Zingiber Officinale (Ginger),Dmethicone Propyl PG-Betaine, Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Methylisothiazolinone, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Benzoic Acid.
This product is not tested on animals. The size of the tube is 150ml and this has lasted in our house for over 3 weeks now with hubby using it daily. It must be used within 12 months of being opened.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
I found this product in my local Home and Bargain shop for just under £1.50 which at the time I though was a bargain. It is available in supermarkets but I imagine the price will be slightly higher.
After using this product then I cannot recommend it as it really did dry my skin out a lot. Hubby is fine using it so I am going to give it a 3 star as it depends on skin type to whether this product is good for you.
