I bought these pore strips because I get blackheads on my nose and chin. I find that pore strips are one of the easiest ways to actually remove blackheads rather than just make them look less noticeable. I don't stick to one particular brand when it comes to pore strips and the pack that I currently have are the T-Zone face pore strips which I bought from Superdrug a month or so ago.
They were on offer at time at around £4 but the full retail price for a pack of six is usually around £5 so they're not the cheapest around but I've been happy with them and would pay the full price as they do the job! The pore strips come in a lightweight cardboard pack which has quite a unisex design to it. The pack has all of the information on it that anyone would want to know such as how to use the product, the ingredients etc. Inside the cardboard pack there are six sachets which contain one strip per sachet.
These are very easy to open but I can't help but feel it is slightly over-packaged for quite a simple product, but I like that the individual wrapping keeps the strips hygienic and fresh. The strips come on a clear plastic kind of thing which you just peel off and using the strip is simple. I just wet the area where I am going to apply it with warm water and then stick the strip onto the area, pressing down.
It is important not to get the strips too wet though else they will go soggy and not stick to the skin properly. Once I've put it on my skin the smell is really noticeable especially when I am using a strip on my nose and it smells like tea tree oil which i find refreshing. I will wait until it becomes stiff which is usually anywhere between 8 and 10 minutes, and then I peel it off which isn't painful but it is a bit uncomfortable.
After peeling it off I am able to see what it has removed - usually little black things, but sometimes more interesting stuff like little white bits haha, so yucky but it really makes me feel like my skin has been thoroughly de-clogged and it is satisfying to see all the gunk that isn't in my skin any more! It doesn't remove all of my blackheads, but it makes a very noticeable improvement and it leaves my skin looking clearer and feeling nice and smooth and clean, too.
These strips are not as drying as the other brands of pore strips I've used which I think is because they contain
Manuka honey which is supposed to be moisturising. Though I do definitely recommend them I would advise not using them too often because when I used two in a row I was left with a clogged, red pore on my nose. Apart from that though these strips are great and I highly recommend them!
Five out of five stars.
I recently read a review for these pore strips and enjoyed reading it and I take care of my skin and thought I would give these a try to see if they suited my skin and to remove a few blackheads that were appearing on my nose area, I purposely went to Home bargains store to buy these as the review said they were bought from there, I had not seen these before and so cannot say if they are available from any other store.
They are priced at £1.49 and they come in a cardboard box, inside there are 6 strips placed inside a sachet, which is easy to open and the strip inside is wrapped in a thicker plastic backing wrapper, which then can be easily opened when needed.
The area these need to be used on has to be cleaned first and then patted dry, then thoroughly wet the area and place a strip onto it and then gently pat it down to make good contact with the skin, the strip is then left to dry for about 10 minutes, I first used these on the nose area, and I did not look a pretty sight and hoped nobody knocked on my door or I would have scared them lol.
I left it for the 10 minutes but after approximately 5 minutes, I could feel it drying and I felt I wanted to itch my nose lol, they feel quite pleasant on the skin and they did not irritate my skin at all.
After the 10 minutes I gently peeled the strip from the edges, and oh my goodness I could see tiny black kind of like tiny particles of blackheads on the strip, I was totally amazed how many were actually on it, I thought my nose did not have many blackheads but oh my god there were at least a dozen on the strip when I removed it, I just could not believe it.
My nose felt nice and soft after using it and I had no irritation at all and I have sensitive skin but they were perfectly fine.
All the cleansing I do on my skin still can leave blackheads, even though just a tiny amount, but it just goes to show how they can be missed.
These grab the blackheads and lifts them out nice and gently and when the strip was removed it did not hurt like I first thought it would, I thought it would feel like a plaster being removed but it was not the same feeling at all.
It is advised on the box not to use these on spots, blemishes or inflamed, swollen, broken, sunburned or excessively dry skin.
After use I just rinsed off a tiny amount of residue and the skin was lovely and clean and I looked into a magnifying mirror and I could see the difference straight away, I checked before and after use with the mirror.
It is also advisable not to use these if you have a skin that is sensitive to plasters or peel off masks.
These remove the bacteria that causes spots and they unclog pores to help the skin breathe more easily too, the shape of them is specially designed to place over the nose, chin and forehead too.
What a brilliant beauty product this one is and I am so please I read the review or I would never have tried these for my skin, and I am so delighted with them I will be buying them again in the future.
I highly recommend these for anyone to try, even if you think you have no blackheads as I did, you will be amazed how some are there and they leave a nice clean skin.
I give these 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review.
I am extremely prone to getting blackheads on my nose. Even after washing my face twice a day with "blackhead removing" face wash they still seem to remain. A friend recommended T-zone face pore strips. I went to the chemist where they were buy one get one free, so two packets for £5. I followed the clear and simple instructions from on the box.
Wasn't expecting it to hurt, only a slight stingy feeling though so nothing too serious! They definitely worked though! The proof is in looking at the strip afterwards....it was almost satisfying to see that it had in fact removed blackheads. I now use them once a week and I have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of blackheads on my nose.
However the price of these strips is off putting, you only get 6 in a box and had they not been on offer I'm not sure I would have purchased them. Ideally I would like to use them more often than once a week but for economical reasons that's all I'm getting!
I would recommend these strips to people who are prone to getting blackheads like me.
I use T-Zone nose pore strips to de-gunk my nose, which is extremely prone to blackheads thanks to my oily skin. When I use these regularly (around twice a week), they limit the amount of blackheads that plague my nose and if I don't use them, I can see a big difference in how many are present. Given the shape of most nose pore strips (which are usually shaped to fit the nose), they don't really lend themselves to using elsewhere on the face, which has long bugged me as I get blackheads across my chin and on my cheeks too and wanted something that would deal with those too. On a recent trip to Boots, I saw these face pore strips next to the nose pore strips and popped a couple in my basket in glee.
If you've used nose pore strips before, these are pretty much the same but a different shape. Whereas nose pore strips are curved for practical purposes, these are just a rectangular block. You use them the same way in that you wet the area and apply the strip so that it sticks.
I tend to get blackheads clustered together in smallish areas so it works better for me to cut each strip in half and use half a strip on my cheeks and half on my chin as it seemed a big waste to use a separate strip on each area given that most of it would be unused.
It seems to be a tighter fit than the nose pore strips as it is more uncomfortable to peel off afterwards or at least it is when I've used the half strips. Generally speaking, it takes around 10 minutes to feel as though it's fully hardened and ready to be removed.
I've had mixed results with these strips. Using them on my cheeks has got rid of some nasty blackheads, including one very stubborn one that resisted all attempts at removal. The ones that have come out have looked rather big too so those were obviously some very clogged pores!
I've had less positive results on my chin. The blackheads here are less large and not as prominent but they've been much more difficult to coax out, even with the help of these strips. So far, I've used the strips twice and have successfully cleared the blackheads on my cheeks but the ones on my chin are still lingering around, especially one particular one in the middle which has resisted two attempts to remove it so far so that's disappointing but I'm pleased that the larger blackheads on my cheeks have gone.
I paid just under £5 (around £4.99) for a pack of 6 from Boots, which is the same price as the nose pore strips from the same range there. You may be able to get them cheaper elsewhere but where I live, they don't seem to be readily available in Superdrug, Bodycare or Sainsburys so I'm all but restricted to buying them from there. Until I saw them by chance, I wasn't even aware that they even existed!
So, do I recommend these face pore strips? Yes and no as I like the results on my cheeks but I'm far less impressed with the results on my chin. I find it hard to get as close a fit on my chin for some reason and that makes the final result less pleasing. If you're wanting to use them to de-clog pores on your chin, I'm less inclined to recommend them given my experiences but I'd give them the thumbs-up for blackhead removal on the cheeks. Because of the lack of good results on my chin though, I'm docking the star rating down to three stars as it seems that the results are more mixed than I'd hoped.
