I'm a big fan of all things quick and simple when it comes to skincare, and I usually look for products that are reasonably priced and work on more problematic skin (ie. Breakouts, blemishes). I've been quite happy with T-Zone and their wipes are one product in the range that definitely get a thumbs up from me. These come in a soft plastic packet, light green in colour with a white swirl design all over. Each pack contains 25 wipes, which is about average for similar products. The packet opens with a clear plastic re-sealable flap on the top, which you need to make sure to stick down as well as you can after taking out a wipe so they don't dry out. It doesn't really look like there's much information on the wipes themselves at first glance, but if you look underneath the flap at the back there's some text. This basically tells us about T-Zone products and how they contain 'natural anti-bacterial ingredients, which are scientifically proven to be tough on spots but gentle on skin'. T-Zone is a brand quite well regarded and popular when it comes to troublesome skin and blemishes, so it's nice to see they offer wipes for cleansing too and not just liquids and sticks and creams. The wipes are designed (and 'specially formulated'!) to do a few things, including : * Removing excess bacterial, grease and oil (which can lead to spots) * Reduce shine (which is really achieved because of the above point) * Cleanse, protect and tone skin * Remove make-up * Help to guard against over-dry skin (ie. These aren't overly harsh and shouldn't dry out your skin too much when removing excess skin oils) Face wipes are super easy to use because literally all you need to do is remove one from the packet, gently wipe over your face (and neck if you wish) and throw in the bin. Make sure you don't try putting them down the toilet because they're not designed to be flushable. The great thing is that you don't need to do anything after using the wipe; you don't rinse your face afterwards and the sense of 'wetness' quickly dries out without leaving any residue or such like. The note of caution on the back of the pack advises to keep away from the eye area, and also to discontinue use if any irritation occurs, which goes for most facial products. I find the wipes are a good size and adequate even if you're removing eye make-up and foundation etc. They smell quite fresh and a little of citrus; it's a scent I can't quite describe but it's instantly recognisable to me as T-Zone. I quite like it as it doesn't smell overly chemical-ish. As for their effectiveness in removing make-up, I don't wear too much of it and I never use waterproof mascara, but I've found these have done the job quite well. Using the area of the wipe to go back over and remove traces, such as mascara which usually takes a while to get rid of, my face is left make-up free and not red raw from scrubbing away at it. The wipes actually feel quite gentle on my face and soft, unlike some I've used in the past which have had a far more 'rough' texture. After using these I do notice that my skin feels zingy fresh and clean, and I can see a difference in the condition of my skin in the sense that it looks less shiny. Therefore I'd say they do what they claim on the pack; cleanse and reduce shine. I've not noticed any irritation at all with these and I can have somewhat sensitive skin, so I'm usually a bit cautious with products at first. However, I've used these for months and find they're gentle enough for me. They're also suitable for daily use, so they're not just for removing make-up at the weekends or for special occasions where you need to cleanse whilst out and about. Although I do love that about these; they're quick and easy to use, and perfect for taking out with you in your bag. I know I've been a bit fan of these whilst staying away from home or going camping. I can't really say as that I've noticed any particular downsides to the product, though I'd argue the stickiness of the re-sealable plastic could be a tad better. That said, I've also known worse. They do seem to stay fresh for quite a while, however, so I've been quite impressed by that. Do they prevent spots? Well, they do seem to remove excess oil and leave my face feeling fresh, but I wouldn't rely on them alone to get rid of blemishes or prevent future breakouts, though they're a handy addition to my skincare routine. All in all, you can't go too far wrong with these. I've been very pleased with them, especially when buying on offer, as they do what they claim to. Pack of 25 retails for around £1.99 - check out discounter stores and places like Savers (where I've bought mine for around 50p!).
I purchased these T Zone Shine Control Cleansing Wipes for just 49p for 25 wipes from my local Home Bargains store, which I thought was a fabulous price. I have quite oily skin that is prone to breakouts and so I was hoping these wipes would help that issue. The packaging is green with blue writing. The wipes cleanse and tone, remove excess oil, help prevent breakouts and are naturally anti bacterial. The back of the packet also tells me the ingredients, warnings and directions which are to simply remove a single wipe and gently wipe over your face and neck. To get into the packet you have to pull the clear, sticky plastic tab, although do not pull it right off as you will need this to put back over the exposed hole after use to keep your face wipes moist. They are easy to dispense as they are "edge up" providing you with something to grab. The smell is most definitely tea tree oil which is known for its spot fighting properties. Although the wipes do remove make up, I found my skin didn't feel all that clean afterwards so I would recommend not using these as an everyday cleanser, though that may just be my mind telling me a wipe can't effectively clean your skin! They definitely left my skin feeling refreshed and slightly tingly but if you have any kind of open cut or spot on your face be careful, these wipes will make it sting like hell, although it should clear up pretty quickly. I can't say I have shiny skin so I'm not sure how effective the shine control claim is, but they have definitely helped control my blemishes. I'm not sure I would buy them again as the heavy scent is rather off putting and I don't feel as though they deep clean enough for me. They are good if you are in a rush though. For this I am deducting 2 stars.
To remove my make up I have always used cleansing wipes, I find if I use other products such as face scrubs/washes they make my skin worse and bring out my spots therefore I have tried a lot of different brands of facial wipes. Last September becoming a student at University without my mother buying my facial wipes I have resorted to buying the cheapest possible, a somewhat risky game at times. About the product- T-zone was a brand I personally had never heard of yet the price of the product drew me towards it. The product was at an amazing price of 59p for a packet of 25 cleansing wipes which I couldn't resist with when the other cleansing wipes were £1 and over (every penny counts as a student). I bought the product from B&M bargains a store which sells branded products at a much lower price, I have also seen the wipes in Poundland for a similar price. This is an extremely low price to be paying for facial wipes and I believe it to be a great deal when you compare to prices of other facial wipes. The facial wipes are in a mint green squishy packaging and is the standard size of most facial wipe packaging which is a reasonable small size. The seal on the packaging to get the facial wipes out is very reliable as it sticks down easily which then means there is no chance of the facial wipes drying out and me then having to throw them which has unfortunately happened in the past with other facial wipes. Also on the reserve of the packaging the product states instructions how to use the facial wipes and a caution to avoid delicate areas such as the eyes as well as stating the ingredients within the products so if you was knowingly allergic to anything you could check easily if it was in the product before buying. The product also states on the back what they have been formulated for and this is to 1)Effectively remove the excess oil, grease and bacteria that can cause spots 2)Reduce shine 3)Cleanse, tone and protect in one, leaving great looking skin 4)Remove make-up instantly 5)Guard against over-dry skin. You may be now asking does the product do as it states? Could it possibly do all those things for such a small price? When I first used the wipes I realised they were extremely moist in comparison to others I had used, which I preferred as I felt they really did take all of my make up off with only one facial wipe and I did not feel the need to then wash my face after or use another facial wipe. Therefore they do remove the make up instantly. Also the facial wipes did not leave me feeling my pores were clogged up or that I had a sticky face they left me feeling fresh and clean which they do claim to do within getting rid of excess oil and grease and bacteria and they left my face feeling soft and spot free as I have not gained any spots since I have been using the wipes. For such a cheap price you may expect the facial wipes to be flimsy and perhaps fall to pieces whilst using however this certainly is not the case and they are of a good quality. However the wipes state that they guard against over-dry skin this I believe they do not do as I suffer from an area of dry skin on my nose which certainly has not improved from using the facial wipes but for such a cheap price what can you expect! A huge misleading factor about these wipes is that they are 'shine control' wipes I believe this also has not been done effectively but yet again what can you expect for paying such a small price. Another disadvantage to these wipes I'm afraid is the smell which is a strong scent of tea tree which I personally do not enjoy the smell of however it is bareable for the short amount of time it takes to remove my make up. Worth buying?- I would only recommend people buying these facial wipes if you need a low price facial wipe which does a good job of removing your make up and leaves your face feeling clean and soft, these facial wipes do a wonderful job for the price you would be paying. However if you are looking at buying these facial wipes because they state they are shine control wipes or because you have dry skin I would hugely recommend you do not bother as they do not do this and you may need a more expensive product for this. However they are a great basic facial wipe if you simply want to take your make up off for a cheap price. I will continue to buy these facial wipes whilst low on funds at University as they do a good enough job for me. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps.
I try not to use facial wipes too often because my skin rarely feels as cleansed afterwards as when I use a "proper" cleanser. I do like to have a pack to hand though for the times when I am really tired and I think removing my make up with a wipe is better than not doing so at all, or for when I am camping or travelling. I buy from lots of different brands but I am usually looking for a quite basic product rather than anything that offers anti-aging properties for example. However, I was interested to try the T Zone Shine Control Cleansing wipes because they seem especially suited to my combination skin - and shine loving forehead! Better still, they were on offer in Savers for 59p, which seems to be a permanent price there reduction now. Elsewhere I have seen them for around £1 which is still a low price to pay for 25 wipes. THE PAINLESS PACKAGING I am not normally too bothered about the packaging of my toiletries but face wipes are the exception. If they come in a packet that doesn't re-seal properly, they dry out quickly and become next to useless. I looked at the seal on the T Zone packet before I bought it and it looked a good size and sturdy as far as I could tell. It has proven to be reliable and I have reached the last wipe without having to throw any away. The gap underneath to pull the wipe through is big enough to make the job less fiddly too which covers my other usual gripe! Overall, the pack looks like the sort that baby wipes or moist tissues come in except it is a fresh looking aqua green colour. WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO As you can tell from the product name, these wipes are supposed to remove excess oil and grease from your skin, as well as make up and general dirt. T Zone say the naturally antibacterial qualities of their ingredients will also help to prevent spots, and that the product is suitable for daily use should you so wish. Lastly, they say the wipes will guard against over dry skin. This last feature is quite important to me because with my combination skin I have both dry and oily areas. Products targeted at removing shine from the latter are sometimes too harsh for the former. WIPE AWAY I wasn't that impressed with the wipes when I first removed one from the pack. The sheets are a good size and could easily cover my face, which means I can fold them and use a corner at a time in order to use a fresh piece in different areas. Unfortunately, they also seem rather thin and flimsy and the centre of each looks almost threadbare. This varies a bit from sheet to sheet but overall they seem less robust than similar ones I have used. Appearances are deceptive though because they don't actually fall apart when you use them thank goodness. They feel cool and moist without being over wet which is where many cheaper wipes fall down in my opinion. They pleasant enough to use because they are soft on the skin and don't make me feel sticky. The pack instructions say there is no need to rinse your face after using the wipes, and I found that is truly the case. Sometimes I feel I need to with other products because they make my skin feel a bit clammy. The wipes have a scent which I don't especially like but it isn't that strong or lingering so it doesn't put me off. Parfum is listed amongst the ingredients as well as many plants under their Latin names including tea tree, chamomile, peppers, watermelon, rooibos and tomato. Quite a mixture but the only individual scent that I can pick out is the tea tree which is of course my least favourite! If you actually sniff a wipe close up it has a musty sort of smell even when coming out of a new pack and that is what I really don't enjoy. However, it doesn't take me long to finish my cleansing and I can only detect the mustiness when I working near my nose. WIPED CLEAN? The wipes do remove make up effectively but I sometimes have to do several more sweeps of an area before the wipes cease to pick up more make up. This makes the cleansing a bit more time consuming than when using other wipes but I never need to actually scrub away at my face to get the products off. I usually wear a combination of liquid foundation, blusher and translucent powder plus the occasional primer or BB cream and T zone can deal with those well. It also brings off a sobering level of dirt and grime on the days when I have been working outside. I have briefly tried the wipes on my eye area but I generally prefer to use a special remover there due to past problems. They did remove the highly pigmented eye shadow easily though, and non waterproof mascara with a bit more effort. As for removing shine, yes the wipes do that, but the mattifying effect is not as long lasting as when I use most traditional cleansers. It is perfectly good while it lasts though, and I am sure that using a wipe does prolong the time my foundation stays put on my forehead by giving a good base to start with. I don't know whether I have got less spots as a result of using these as I get them only sporadically most of the time anyway. I am sure that removing oil and grease from the skin would help to prevent some. I do agree that I haven't found that using this product has lead to any drying of my skin in the short term. I have however used them at regular intervals but not for more than 3 days at a single stretch so I can't judge how they would affect my skin if I used them on a daily basis. WOULD I RECOMMEND THESE CLEANSING WIPES? I would if you are looking for a good value wipe that deals effectively with shine in the short term. I do think they are better at this than general wipes, but not as good as liquid cleansers in my opinion. They do have the advantage of convenience, and the easy to seal pack is also handy if like me you don't want to use them every day. After use each wipe has to be thrown away, and it can't be flushed down the loo. This does make me feel that they generate unnecessary waste but no more so than most other similar products. Apart from that I would say they are worth buying at the price. You can buy them in Savers, Superdrug and the discount stores such as Poundland for 59p - £1.00 approximately.
In more recent times I have become more than a tad lazy with my skincare routine when i come to think about it lol. I always used to cleanse and tone using seperate products but nowadays for speed and ease I like to use wipes. Even though I am 37 years od I still suffer with a greasy t-zone and the odd ugy zit which is why when I spotted these in my local Poundland store only costing a mere pound and reading the blurp on the packet I bought them! They not only are meant to effectively remove make-up but also keep us shine free and help keep spots at bay as well! The Packaging: The wipes come in a mint green plastic, square shaped packet to which there is a resealable section to the top of the pack allowing us to pull the wipes out with ease. On there we are told that they are indeed T-Zone Shine Control Cleansing Wipes 'Cleanses and tones, removes excess oil, helps control breakouts and that they are for general cleansing 'Effective skincare, naturally antibacterial'. On the back of the packet we are told how to use them, cautions are given, we are told that there are 25 wipes in the packet, ingredients are given and contact details for the manufacturer are given. Nice enough, unisex packaging this is and of course they are not just for make-up removal but suitable for anyone with slightly to very greasy skin as well! The Wipes: These wipes are white in colour and thick material so very robust. They are damp not soaking wet and infused with a tea tree ingredient that is slightly sweetened in fragrance and a bit aftershavey but really nice and fresh smelling. I use these to remove a full face of make-up and first thing in the morning to refresh my skin and to remove grease and so on and I have to say that I really love everything about these from the packaging being of good quality, to the wipe feeling excellent, soft and smooth and these are indeed incredibly and deep own cleansing. They wipe off even waterproof mascara without too much effort at all and make my skin look really matt and for ages too. I suffer with less spots, make up applied after using one of these 'sits' better on my skin and my t-zone really doesn't go greasy half as quick as when I don't use these. They don't dry my skin out and basically leave my face feeling slightly toned up in a none sticky/heavy way. I really love these wipes as they are so multi tasking. Rarely have I seen a wipe that works as an effective antibacterial product but equally as good at make up removing and after using these my skin really does feel fresh...even rejuvinated. Lovely! Available in all good supermarkets etc and if not a pound from Poundland expect to pay around a couple of quid for 25 of these wipes! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
I always thought that the T-Zone brand was more of a cheaper brand, perhaps this is because in my local Asda this is on the shelves next to the Asda brand products whereas Clearasil and the other brands are on the shelves above. Anyway I picked up a pack of these the other week as I was looking for another product to try and help my Oily, spotty skin. So far I haven't found a product that works really well for me, so i'm still looking. This comes in a little pouch that looks just looks like the pack on the picture here. Quite a chunky little pack, but at least when you use this then the pack gets flatter which is perhaps good if you are travelling because it's not as if a bottle will get any flatter is it? The colouring on here is alright. A nice enough green colour and although this doesn't stand out on the shelf it's ok. Just rip open the sealed bit in the middle and you get into the damp wipes. This comes in a pack of 25 and I think the right price in my Supermarket is around £3.20 but there was a 2 for £4 offer when I bought them, so I picked another product in the range to try. The wipes are pretty thick, and although i've never worn a wipe out when i've been scrubbing away at my face, these wipes seem a bit thicker than others that i've used. They are nice and soft as well, and although they are damp, they aren't overly wet. Your face will feel wet and tingly after wiping this over but this dries quick enough. The scent of this is alright. It is a slightly medicated kind of scent which I would have expected anyway. This has Tea Tree in it, so you get the aroma of this smell, which is alright in my eyes. Once this has dried on your skin although you can still smell the hint of this it isn't that strong a scent. So how do these work? They do an ok job. I do tend to have an Oily Forehead, and I find that this takes away the shine - as I would have expected from the name of this anyway. This seems to keep the shine away alright, but I can find a lot later in the day that the odd shine may come back near my hairline. I think this does a good job of controlling it anyway. This seems to target Spots that I have already, and so far after using these twice a day I haven't notice any new spots coming through - yea. A good product from a good brand and I will consider using more from this brand in the future.
I suffer from outbreaks of spots from time to time and like to try out new products to try and help this problem. I also like the convenience of using moist facial wipes to cleanse my face and remove any make-up residue and so whenever I see a product that combines both of these features I like to try them out and see if they make any improvement to my skin. One product that I came across recently was a pack of "T-Zone Shine Control Cleansing Wipes." These wipes are provided in a plastic package which contains 25 individual moist facial wipes. I have seen them for sale in shops such as Superdrug, but I bought mine in a local (independent) pharmacy. I paid £1 for the pack of wipes which appears to be something of a bargain after doing a little research online. I can see that the Superdrug website has the same package of wipes available for the sum of £4.03!!! The packaging is fairly basic, but serves it purpose well. The package is made of a bright, jade-coloured plastic, and there is a large sticker on the front of the package which allows you to reseal it after each use, thus ensuring that the facial wipes stay moist. I have come to find that cheaper facial wipe products can often have a very flimsy plastic seal on the front of the package which over time loses it's stickiness and the facial wipes inside often become dry and unusable as a result. With the T-Zone shine control wipes however, I did not find that this was a problem, and the package was able to be suitably sealed after each use which ensured each and every one of the wipes within was able to be used. The wipes themselves are fairly thick and are very soft. I have found that similar products I have used in the past seem to be made of a slightly 'scratchy' feeling material, which is far from ideal when using a product like this on your face. The T-Zone wipes however, posed no such problem and I must admit that these wipes appear to be made of a good quality material. This is what I had expected, and given that the brand could not really be described as being a budget brand, I would have been rather annoyed if I had found that the facial wipes were made of the same cheap material that some of their (admittedly cheaper) rival products are made of. The smell of the T-Zone cleansing wipes is quite strong, and they have the aroma of tea tree oil, which I think is quite refreshing when used on my skin. Based on my past experiences, I have found that products which contain tea tree oil can be really quite beneficial in helping to combat spot outbreaks. There is a drawback to these wipes containing tea tree oil however, and that is that they cannot be used around the delicate eye area. This is slightly annoying as I often like to use moist facial wipes to remove my eye make-up, but this is not possible with these wipes and so a separate product is needed for this. When it comes to removing traces of oil and make-up on my face though, I have found that these wipes are really good at doing this. After using them, my skin feels really nice and clean and slightly refreshed. I found that they proved to be effective at removing my facial make-up such as foundation and blusher, and the wipes were moist enough to lift all of this off of my face. A huge advantage to using the T-Zone cleansing wipes over another brand is of course the fact that they help prevent spots, and this was my main reason for purchasing this brand over another. I did find that in this regard, the T-Zone wipes were quite effective and if I were to compare my skin after using these wipes with the results achieved from using a separate spot-controlling cleanser and cotton wool combination, I would be hard-pushed to notice any differences. I found that they did remove traces of oil, grease and make-up from my face effectively, which of course helps in the prevention of spots. I also noticed that my skin felt really clean and quite fresh after I had used the wipes. I have to be honest and say that I have used these wipes when I am suffering a spot outbreak and I have found them to be pretty useless in helping to treat the affected area. I have not found that they do anything really to help chase the spots off. To be fair though, the packaging for the wipes doesn't really claim to help spotty skin and it is quite obvious that this product is aimed at a 'prevention rather than cure' philosophy. Also, the T-Zone wipes claim to help reduce shine and I have to say I have found little or no evidence of this personally. To be fair, I do not have an overly oily or shiny complexion anyway, so perhaps I am not the best judge of this feature. The wipes also claim to help guard against overly-dry skin, and again I have to be honest and say that in my case, I didn't find that they did much to help this at all. I do suffer from fairly dry skin on my forehead and I found that these wipes did nothing whatsoever to improve this. To be fair, the T-Zone wipes didn't make this problem any worse than usual, but there was definitely no improvement after using these wipes. The biggest advantage for me personally when it comes to using these wipes is that they help to combat future spot outbreaks, and in my experience, they do this very well. I can't honestly say that the product blew me away, and as a result, there is no way on earth that I would be paying over £4 for a packet of these wipes. If you see them on sale for a couple of pounds though, they might be worth trying out if you suffer from sporadic outbreaks of spots like I do. I think they are worth this price, and I will continue to use them due to them being convenient and quick to use, and fairly good at helping me to prevent future outbreaks of spots. I would give this product four Dooyoo stars, which I think it deserves. If you would like to try the T-Zone facial wipes for yourself, they are available to buy in drugstores like Savers and Superdrug, as well as being available to buy online from eBay, where prices start at £2. I wouldn't personally pay too much more than this though!
