“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Facial Wash / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Cleanses, „
This is the second time I have now been to buy my usual face wash only to find it is out of stock, resulting in me having to pick a different one. This time though I have decided to give the Tesco branded ones a try. I am happy with the fact it was so much cheaper and even more happy with the results.
The face wash comes in a white and blue plastic tube, This has the Tesco logo on the top and the product name under it. There are some claims on the front of the tube. The back of the tube has all of the product information and the directions for use. The bottom of the tube as a white plastic flip lid which makes for very easy use when using one hand.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
The face wash really is very simple to use, to do so a small amount needs to be squeezed out of the tube and onto the fingers. This should then be massaged into the face and neck area and then washed off with clean water. The face should be wet before applying the face wash.
The wash is very simple to squeeze out of the bottle, it is a good consistency which means it is not overly runny so you are going to end up with loads of the wash on you fingers and it is not overly thick so hard to massage into the skin. The flip lid makes for easy use once you have squeezed the wash onto the fingers on one hand as it can be flipped closed one handed.
Once I opened the flip lid I noticed that there was a faint smell, it smells like the usual face washes but it is actually quite pleasant as it is not strong. You can smell this when using the wash but once this has been washed off the skin then the smell goes. I was not able to still smell this on my fingers after use which was a bonus as this can be off putting when trying to eat or prepare food.
After first using the wash I get left with skin which feels very clean and fresh, I did not notice that my skin looked softer or the few spots and blackheads removed but after using this for more than 2 weeks now I can visibly see that all of my blackheads on the nose area are gone and the few spots on my forehead, which are there as a result of using hairspray on my fringe are gone. My face is looking more bright and fresh now and this feeling and look is lasting for the whole day after using this first thing in the morning. My hubby has also been using this for around 1 week now and he is starting to get the same visible results.
The face wash comes in a tube which is 150ml. I have been using this for over 2 weeks now and an just over half way through the tube so it does last for a good amount of time.
There are some warnings on the back of the tube which include keeping this out of reach of children, not to be used on the eye area, if any irritation occurs stop use immediately and seek medical advise and for external use only.
The product ingredients are:-
Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, PPG-15 Stearyl Ether, Certeareth-20, Glycerin, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Salicylic Acid, Alcohol Denat, Menthyl Lactate, Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Parfum, Acrylates/C10-30, Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Xanthen Gum, Disodium EDTA, Magnesium Nitrate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, Methylisothiazolnone, BHT
Once the face wash has been opened it must be used within 12 months. There is no indication on the tube as to whether this product has been tested on animals or not and unfortunately the packaging is not recyclable.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
This is a Tesco own brand face wash so it is only available to buy in their store or from their online shop. It comes at the great price of £1.93 which is over £2 cheaper than the branded products.
I am more than happy to recommend this face wash and give it the full 5 stars. I does work very well if given a little time to work and the results are great. My face looks and feels so much healthier and my blackheads and spots are all gone. For the great cheap price I think you should all give it a try.
Being at university, I do try to budget a bit and not spend too much. I used to buy the very best makes for ridding of any spots and keeping them away such as from Clearasil and another top make for men, who, ironically I have forgotten the name of! In the end, I opted for the Tesco Clear Skin Deep Cleansing Face Wash. It turned out to be just as good as the others and is a much cheaper option!
At first I was a bit apprehensive when I opened the cap, poured some out and this really odd texture came out. It has like a wet cream but with fair density. The stuff itself is white and has a very neutral smell - it's certainly not off-putting. The face wash comes in a 150ml plastic tube. I have had the same tube for ages using it at least once a day - it's been near 2 months now! The tube has a blue and white design with the title on the front and a white cap at the bottom, which it stands up on.
The white cap flips open easily to reveal a small hole. The bottle is quite squeezy so you can get some of the stuff out with ease. You only really need a small amount - about the size of 2 raisins... don't ask where I get my measurements from! And no, don't go on some fancy Jamaican super size raisins, standard ones will do.
You should apply the cream to a wet face. It doesn't lather up or anything, which is what lead me further to think it wouldn't work as you don't see or feel anything when using it. However, make sure you give your face a good rub over with a generous amount and the effects show in the long run! I tend to apply it early on before leaving it a while and rinsing my face before going out the shower.
The results have been excellent and I cannot fault the product at all. I have not got one spot since using this, and I was always quite prone to them! Only when I was quite stressed did a couple of spots try to come through on my forehead, but they were literally killed off within a day or two with constant use of this face wash. It definitely works and whatever ingredients are in it are really effective. I definitely wouldn't go wasting your money on Clearasil or any other products if you are looking for something to give your face a good wash and keep it clear of spots!
You can buy it for just £1.93 at Tesco, and it's currently on offer at '2 for £3.50' when you choose either this face wash and/or the Tesco Clear Skin Facial Scrub, which I have yet to try. For the same quantity of standard Clearasil face wash, you will pay £2.99. Their more expensive ones from the Clearasil Ultra range are priced from £4.92 upwards at Tesco, and I can make do pretty well just with this Tesco version! It has last me about 2 months so far with daily use and has worked a dream - highly recommended!
