“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Cleansing Wipes / Suitable for: Face / What it does: Cleanses, „
I bought these wipes from Tesco for just under a pound, I can't remember the exact amount. I think they were 77p though.
The wipes are a decent shape and size and they smell pleasant. The wipes are good quality. They contain antibacterial ingredients that help to fight spots and blemishes.
The wipes feel nice against the skin. They remove most traces of make-up, although waterproof mascara will need a little bit of extra scrubbing. However, the wipes don't irritate the skin so it doesn't matter how hard you scrub. They don't cause any redness to the skin either. As for my spots, the wipes don't really help to banish spots completely but if you already have spots they help to reduce the redness and irritation of the spots, they also help to speed up the healing process.
The wipes are a quick and easy way to cleanse your face. They stay nice and moist too, as long as you keep the pack sealed at all times. The wipes do keep well and they don't dry out in their pack.
The wipes leave my skin looking fresh and clean. They don't leave my skin feeling tight and they can be used everyday without drying out your skin.
Decent wipes for everyday cleansing.
As a student I am on a budget- but my skin will never compromise! These wipes are really great and so cheap at less than £1 for 25! They aren't too moist and they aren't at all dry so it's the best balance.
No make up wipe will get rid of EVERY trace of make up but these are just as good as any other wipe! I'm not too sure on the promise of ''deep cleansing'' they just seem to get rid of make up or can be used just to freshen up the face. Even better when combined with a product afterwards to make your skin squeaky clean!
The packaging has a nice blue theme and the tab to open the packet is always sticky- so no going to get one and finding it open and all the wipes dry! Sometimes the wipes get a little stuck together and you get a bunch instead of one but they can easily be put back in- They are just as good as any other product out there and highly recommended whether or not you are on a budget.
I picked up a pack of these face wipes recently for those days when I just can't be bothered to give my face a thorough clean. I try to maintain a regular cleansing routine with my facial wash but I admit that this slips up from time to time. I was suckered in by the deep cleansing promise as I like to think that I'm still giving my face a good clean even when taking the lazy option.
The wipes are relatively thick and moist, which is always something that I prefer when it comes to face wipes as wipes that aren't moist enough never quite feel like they're cleaning well enough. There is a slight scent attached to the wipes, which I can't quite pinpoint but it smells ever so slightly medicinal which I guess makes sense - as deep cleaning 'spot preventing' wipes, the packaging states that they contain a combination of antibacterial ingredients.
A pack costs 73p and there are 25 wipes per pack. This is pretty good value even for bog standard face wipes in my opinion as it's only a few pence per wipe.
Unfortunately I can't agree with the claims that these face wipes help to prevent spots as for me, this simply hasn't been the case. I don't use them on a daily basis and probably only use them once or twice a week at the absolute most but every single time I've used them, spots have cropped up the next day. This is invariably what happens if I don't clean my face at all one night so it's almost as though these wipes are doing nothing at all to clean my skin and certainly not offering the deep clean that they profess to. You may have noticed that I said 'spots' in the plural sense in the previous sentence and this is always the case no matter how thoroughly I try to clean my face with these wipes or how under control my skin is before I use them. For me, they simply don't get the job done so in that sense, they're a complete waste of money and I could just as well be using any facial wipe or not bothering at all.
Another downside is the packaging as the sticky quickly loses its effectiveness. To keep the wipes moist, I've taken to putting two criss-crossed hair bands across the pack (one going lengthways and the other from top to bottom) to secure the flap.
I have been needing to buy new face wipes for a few weeks as I ran out of my last ones but trying to keep down on the spending I thought I'd see the brands out there. I was in Tesco getting a lot of food and then came across their toiletries aisle and saw they had quite a few different types of wipes. I have bought from them before and decided to throw in a packet of their Deep Cleansing Wipes to give them a try as there is no harm done if they weren't good.
With Tesco's own products, there is no great design to their packaging but the colour of it sticks out. They come in a light blue packet with a label on the front with all product information. They are suitable for sensitive skin but I have normal skin so wasn't sure if these would do me any great favours. To explain, I have normal skin I suffer from the odd spot but tend to be quite lucky.
The wipes come in a packet of 25 and the wipes have been designed to keep problem skin clear. They aim to help unclog pores; they are also dermatologically tested, suitable for sensitive skin and are alcohol free.
The wipes remove dirt, oil and impurities to leave skin clean and fresh looking. I have been using face wipes for ages but a lot of them tend to leave my face feeling quite greasy which is not really what I want. With these my face feels dry right away after having the wipe brush over which means my skin has a clean soft feeling afterwards.
I had been working all day and wanted to take my make up off so I grabbed a wipe out of the packet. I think these are very moist so it soon started absorbing all of the dirt from my face and it has a nice fresh scent to it. I felt it really cleaning my skin and it had a lot of the dirt off of it. I didn't at all feel that the wipes were irritating my skin but they were really soft to feel and they were really absorbent.
Apart from these just being good for taking off make up they are also good just for a daily clean of the face. I wake up in the morning and usually wipe one of these all over my face, just to really keep the skin clean and refreshed and to get rid of the daily dirt as well as make up. The wipes are recommended to be used day and night but I do find I am quite lazy so once a day is always good enough for me.
I think these are good for people who are like me that have really normal skin as they are just good and easy to use to lightly wipe off the daily impurities. However, if you have more severe spots and oily skin then you will be better buying wipes more specific to that skin type. I don't think these wipes will work miracles at preventing spots arising but it is always good just to keep skin healthy as if you don't remove dirt and whatever else the skin will just look lifeless and without a glow.
Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Bisabolol, Zingiber Officinale Root Extract, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Parfum, Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol, Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Zinc Sulfate, Pehonxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid.
If you are planning on keeping to a budget or just looking on trying a different type of cleansing wipe then I'd definitely recommend these ones. These are obviously available from Tesco stores but I'd definitely say to get them at the bigger stores as the smaller stores tend to stock bigger name brands. These cost 52p for 25 wipes which is an amazing bargain really. They should last you a month or just under but it is still really good value for money I think.
These wipes are part of Tesco's Clear skin range and I usually always advocate using a least two of the products in conjunction to get maximum results. However, my husband picked these up instead of my usual wipes so I thought I wouldn't waste them and gave them a go on their own. I do sometimes get breakouts so thought a cleansing wipe that claims to deep clean and help unclog pores was a very good place to start in tackling spots.
These wipes are dermatologically tested, alcohol free and suitable for sensitive skin. The pack also states they are paraben free (parabens are chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries). The packaging put me off a little as it doesn't look too dissimilar to anti-bacterial wipes you use on your work surfaces!
I did not find these wipes particularly good for make-up removal as you can not use them on the eye area but my skin did feel very clean after use but also very dry so I needed more moisturizer after use than usual. There was also a slight tingling feeling on application but this soon wore off after a minute or two.
At a cost of 88pence for 25 wipes these are good v salue for money but I would not recommend them for everyday use as they are to drying but would keep them about in case of skin breakouts as my skin did seem clearer by the time the packet had been used up.
Tesco Clear Skin Face Wipes!
So, I recently had an out break of a couple of spots which to be quite honest was a little awful! I had to do something instead of piling on my witch concealer so I decided to change the facial wipes I used but what a bad idea that was!
What are they?
These wipes are designed to cleanse your skin and basically wipe away the grime from your face. These contain ginger root and bisabolol and they are suitable for all skin types and help fight bacteria and prevent spots.
As the above image shows, these come in a very plain package with a blue gradient effect theme. In the front the label is showing which is on the flap where you lift up to get a wipe out and it is sticky so you can stick it back down again. On the back there is some useful information on which ingredients have been used and the effect these have on your skin. The pack contains around 25 wipes.
Did These Work?
These worked to the extent where my few spots did actually clear up but it was terrible trying to get my make-up of with these. It just would not work so in the end I just wiped my face with these and used another brand of wipes to take of my make up!
These smelt a little like witch hazel!
These are sold in Tesco for around 60-80p, the prices fluctuate!
I recommend to those with oily skin who have trouble with spots just to use morning and night to wipe off grime! 4/5 because they do not get make up off!
I'm not sure why everyone is giving this 4 stars and 5 stars. This brand of facial wipes is the most terrible and tragic product i've ever used!
They hardly take any make up off!
And what i found really horrific was the fact that it's painful to use! I used to dread taking my make-up off because it's as smooth as sandpaper in a desert! It scraped across my skin and it was like striking a match stick! My face was so painful! Instead i used them to clean my shoes after and before nights out! These face wipes are not meant for the face! I don't even have sensitive skin yet it felt like my skin was being ripped off within one swipe of the cloth! Would definitely NOT recommend this unless you want to make your face sore! Not good for skin! So make sure you don't use this on your baby!
I'm having such a nightmare time with my skin at the moment. I have oily skin, but a bit combination skin on the cheeks. i had been happily using Clinique Foam Cleanser in the shower every 2 days, and Johnson's Clean & Clear Toner every day and night. That had worked fine for years, but over the last couple of months i've had more and more bad spots. Not just the little ones, big angry red ones. I always stayed away from Proper Acne type treatments, as I found they irritated my skin and left it dry and sore looking, But I thought i'd found my savious in a certain Clearasil Wipe. Great I thought, this is working, and then when I went to buy another pack I was told they had been discontinued.
Anyway, being in tesco and on the lookout for a replacement of anything that would work, I decided to try these ones. I'm not being Snobby, but I didn't expect them to work. After all i've used £15 things to try and combat spots, so what good would something at £1.99 for 25 wipes do? I thought I would try them as they were on buy one get one free. Seems stupid as if they didn't work, then I didn't want them, but since I got them at a bargain price, then it was justified - in a way.
The packaging isn't that exciting. it is a plastic pouch and you peel back the part in the middle to get into the Wipes. They seal back easy enough, so the wipes don't dry out. The pouch is a turquoise colour and this merges into a dark blue colour. The writing is in the middle of the pouch and not that large. I'm told on the pack that these contain ginger root extract and bisabolol. are suitable for all skin types and help fight bacteria and prevent spots.
The wipes aren't that moist, and although I wasn't pressing that hard down on my face with these, I felt I was applying a bit more force than what I have done with other wipes I had used. There is a slight Clinical, Astringent scent to these. i'm not going to say these are bleach-y, but they do smell clean and sterile. Fair enough, with being the type of product it is, I wasn't expecting a heavy floral scent.
I used these morning and night and found there was a slight improvement. It kept my face feeling clean, and I didn't feel any greasy patches on my forehead. i'm not sure it worked at keeping the spots away, but I didn't get a crop of any more that I remember. However the spots I had still seemed to be there, but a little smaller and not so raised. I am now using these in conjunction with another brand, as the other ones seem to work more at reducing the spots that are already there, but my face can still feel greasy a couple of hours after using the other brand, so I am using these ones in the morning and crossing my fingers that my face sorts it's self out.
I am undecided if I will buy these again after they are finished, but since I ended up with 50 wipes, then I should have a good trial period with these.
If anyone could recommend any good spot busting stuff then let me know. i have tried Freederm Lotion, the spot range from Avon, Clean and Clear range, some Nuutrogena things, Clearasil wipes, cleansers and toners.
My skin is terrible for breaking out in spots. I am 24 and I still get so many spots!!! And I have used many things to try and get rid of them. Alot very expensive and do not help in anyway.
I now use the Clinique 3 steps (read my many reviews od Clinique products). But I needed something to clean my face with to get rid of my make up. After trying many of the leading brands face wipes (which did not get rid of much of my make-up might I add). I decided to try the supermarkets home brand. I thought the Tesco Clear Skin Deep Cleansing Facial Wipes 25 for 88p looked like a real bargain, so decided to give them a try. Am I glad I did!!!
They really do get rid of all of your make up. Before, when I was using the more expensive brands, when I came to cleans my face it was still so dirty. But with these Tesco ones my face was squeaky clean by the time I come to cleanse.
These wipes are for problem skin and helps to keep in clear and healthy. They contain a special antibacterial ingredient to fight bacteria and help to prevent spots.
Since the other reviews have been written the name and the colour of the packaging has changed for this product. They are the same product but instead of being called Deep Cleansing Wipes they are now called 'Exfoliating Wipes'. From what I can make out after a little research as I say they are the same product and you can't get deep cleansing wipes any longer in this range so my guess is the range has had a revamp in the past year!
I bought mine because I love freshen up wipes of any kind. I like the quickness of using wipes and I buy all types, I'm a bit infatuated and I like hygenic stuff!
I do wash my face in a decent facial wash every day, Olay being my favourite a the moment (I will review it's a marvel). I do cleanse, tone and moisturise most mornings and nights (apart from when drunk lol). So one of the reasons I buy wipes is for ease of use and even when I get occasionally drunk I can do my best to remove my make up with this type of product but also I like to wipe my face when I first wake up or when I'm just out the bath or shower as I find that water makes my skin feel too tight. I do buy sensitive products in the main as I do suffer (well I did!) with bad pussy, yukky spots, blackheads and white heads and discoloration of skin. At 33 it's not nice at all!
I came across these when I was browsing around my local Tesco's Superstore and decided at 88p they had to be tried and threw them in my basket believing them to be make up removing wipes!
The Packaging And Wipes....
Pink and lilac sort or square plastic wrapper. On the front in the centre of the wrapper is a blue circle with a set of 3 different blues circles, one within the other. The inside is white and then in that circle I'm told in blue writing that they are indeed Tesco, Clear Skin, Exfoliating Facial Wipes, 25 Wipes. Under that in small writing I'm then told the product helps to 'prevent' spots, is clinically tested, and suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin. Then on the front is a clear sticky label of which the wipes are dispensed. I will add at this point I hate resealable products in general particularly one's where something damp comes out the seal loses is stickiness but I must say that no this is fine it really does reseal so a good start!
On the back I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use, a warning to keep out of reach from children, a list of ingredients, contact details for Tesco's and there email address and I'm also told this product is recyclable and not tested on animals. All in all informative packaging and although pink and lilac in colour, it's still subtle enough for a man to buy and use if he wished.
The wipe itself is square and white. It reminds me of kitchen roll! It's got all little holes almost punched through the material but not quite. It's robust and doesn't tear (even if you try to tear it). Until I realised it wasn't a make up removing product I wasn't happy with the quality of the wipe (I will come on to that in a mo, honest lol). My make up removing wipes are lovely, soft and gentle, however this isn't to remove make up with! So the quality for the job it's meant to do is great!
Yes as I just said I bought them as make up remover wipes and if you need to yes you can use these for that but you will use about 3 wipes to make sure the make up is fully off, but as I've said they are not made for that and I wouldn't recommend it!
What Are They for Then??....
The Tesco clear skin range has been specifically formulated to help keep problem skin clear and healthy. These clear skin exfoliating facial wipes are a convenient and effective way to cleanse and gently exfoliate your skin.
Contain a special antibacterial ingredient to fight bacteria and help prevent spots.
Gentle exfoliating actions helps remove dead skin cells to encourage skin to look clearer and healthier. Remove dirt, oil and impurities to leave your skin feeling clean and refreshed.
Ok the wipe is as robust as I said earlier. This is best used on a relatively clean face i.e no make up on. The wipe smells fresh, clean and cool, but I can't tell you what it smells of cos I don't know although it smells more 'green' than fruity or anything. So smell wise fine, again for men or women and once used and dried on the skin all smell vanishes anyway.
Now I use this first thing in morning before I wake up properly and come on line and lst thing at night before using a moisturiser. It is gently exfoliating and because it isn't a soaking wet wipe (it's slightly moist) I do say don't flipping scrub at yourself there is no need! It's surprising cos you go for it rubbing away at skin and then 5 minutes later your pink and feeling sore! So just wipe gently all over face and neck.
It gives a slight tingle on the face, particularly if you have any spots or blackheads around. It doesn't hurt and it only lasts a couple of seconds but it is uncomfortable as it does it. The liquid is meant to clean off dirt, grease and grime in the areas where particularly needed. I find these help great with inflammation so if your going out and have a huge spot putting in an appearance then wipe with this and watch the swelling go down. Do bear in mind this is for me personally and these and are meant to be a preventive treatment.
I find one wipe is more than enough for my face and neck and you can use them as often as you like without drying your skin out. They are sensitive and they don't sting eyes (thought you shouldn't put them near your eyes).
Over time I've found this product to really help my blotchy, tight, combination skin. All but one stubborn spot has appeared in just over a month of buying and using these. I use them when ever skin feels sweaty, grimy or grubby and the best time to use these is on a train and buses but I don't know bout you ladies I couldn't go anywhere without my face on so I can't use them for that!
Just use them whenever you have a moment to freshen up and then throw them in thebin and job done (do not flush them, they won't!) Fabulous for after the gym when you've been sweating and stuff like that. I'm really impressed with these and they have fitted into my skin care routine well. I do all my usual stuff and use these occasionally and my skin has improved no doubt about it. People have actually commented on my smoother looking and softer skin. A face full of zits isn't becoming and now I have only one I'm delighted and on this spots warpath as we speak! lol
88p per 25 wipes (works out at 4p per wipe) only in Tesco's and recommended by me! Great!
Since the the birth of my daughter, well since I conceived actually, weird things have been happening to my body.
Not least of which is that my skin has started to break out. Now I've always been one of those very lucky people who never needed to worry, I had a great complexion and very rarely got any serious spots even as a teen, I hardly ever wear foundation. So imagine my shock when I realised it had got bad enough for my lovely mum-in-law to ask "Oh, whats that rash all over your face?!". (Shes fond of these types of comments!).
I could not let it go unnoticed any longer, action had to be taken. Now knowing that my hectic schedule of nappies, feeding, more nappies etc. didn;t leave a lot of time for pampering, I decided some form of wipe I could use quickly would be best.
So on our shop in Tesco's I ventured into the skincare isle and Tesco's own were only £1 a pack. There was deep cleansing or exfoliating to choose from. Great, one pack of each to try, in the trolley they went. (They may have been on offer at this price, to be honest I can't remember).
I was very happy with the price which was for 25 wipes. It was a blue and green packet with circles in the middle and Clear Skin in large writing.
It says - helps prevent spots, clinically tested, suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.
I decided to use morning and night, and looking at the packet, this is what is recommended anyway.
I've been using morning and night in conjunction with a skin clear moisturiser in the morning and a renewing night cream in the evening.
My skin feels a lot better. During use you can feel the astringent antibacterial properties as your skin tightens. However it's not a harsh uncomfortable experience as with some toners/products of this kind. Afterwards my skin doesn't feel dry or oily, and after a few days I've only noticed one new spot coming through which is a vast improvement. My "rash!" I was already suffering from is noticeably improved and I think within another few days will be gone completely.
Excellent. Quick, easy, affordable, does what it says on the tin. A winner in my book.
May review the exfoliating wipes when I finish this pack and start those!

£0.98 for a 25 pack, which works out as 4p per wipe. They are sometimes on offer as buy one get one free (this includes the Tesco exfoliating wipes)
The wipes come in a pack of 25, the packet is dark blue which fades into light blue lower down the packet. In the centre there a three blue rings and in the centre of the rings is the Tesco logo in light blue Clear skin in large dark blue letters and deep cleansing facial wipes in smaller dark blue letters. There is a sticky flap to open the packet and to re-seal, you have to be careful when you re-seal to make sure that it doesnt loose its stickiness. The packaging is rather plain but the blue fading does catch your eye and you usually see facial wipes in white packets.
I use one every morning and every night, supposedly washing your face with soap isnt good for your skin so facial wipes are a great way of cleaning off any make-up and dirt. The wipes are very good at re-moving makeup - although I do use a face wash regularly if Im staying out for the night or Ive come home late and just cant be bothered to fuss around in the bathroom its so easy to just get a wipe. They do sting around the delicate eye area so you do have to be gentle when you rub over that part and make sure you put extra moisturiser or eye cream on after. They are for sensitive skin and as long as youre not too rough when you rub them over your face you dont get any irritations. They may not be the best on the market but they do the job and Ive found with regular use my skin is looking a lot less spotty and blotchy.
The wipes contain an antibacterial ingredient which helps prevent spots and fights bacteria.
They contain: Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Parfum, Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol, Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, 2-bromo-2-nitro propane-1, 3-Diol.
