“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Cleansing Wipes / Exfoliator / Suitable for: Face / What it does: Cleanses, Exfoliates, „
I have been using the simple exfoliating wipes for years, but recently they have been far more expensive. I have been looking for alternatives and I saw these when I was on a weekly shop. I had also noticed these in the past and thought they looked well packaged. I have never really been too brand loyal when it comes to face wipes so I tend to buy what's on offer. I picked these up because they were half price and thought they were worthy of a try
These usually cost £2 for a pack of 25 which is a pretty decent price. I paid half price so I picked up too packets of them. They are decent value compared to others on the shelf such as simple and neutrogena face wipes. They are cheaper because they are own brand. I am happy to pay £2 for these but I believe that the price of these has rised in the past. I recall seeing these at £1.50 not too long ago.
Do they work?:
They are very rough which is good for exfoliating, they are also nice and damp when they come out of the packet. When you get them out of the packet you need to wipe all over your face to get rid of dead skin cells and also get dirt out from under your skin. I find my face feels nice and clean immediately after using the wipes so they are great for use before bed. The negatives i have had with these face wipes are that after using these I seems to develop some spots around my t zone. Especially on my chin and forehead! This may be for other reasons but I believe my skin doesn't like the chemicals in this. I don't think they are brilliant for my skin type. I have finished using the packet and I haven't really noticed a huge improvement in my skin, I do have fewer blackheads, yet white heads formed which I consider to be worse than blackheads. I think some products work better with different types if skin! This could be fine with yours. I will however, not be buying any of these again because they are not for me. I will be sticking to the simple wipes which work so much better with my skin! Even if they do charge far too much for them.
I am going to be giving these wipes a 3 star review. They effectively make my face feel clean after use, but they also bring me out in spots. They have a slight strange smell which also slightly puts me off theses. In would recommend that you try these as they may work for your skin type! I have used so many different tesco products and they usually work for me, this was a bit of a let down.
Thanks for reading my review! I hope it helped you out.

~The look of the product~
The wrapping of the wipes is different from the picture shown, they now come in a orange/peach colour with a circle in the centre with, "Tesco Clear Skin 25 Exfoliating Facial Wipes" The packaging isn't flash or eye catching, however they do not look as though the wipes were cheap to buy. As usual there is the list of ingredients on the back, once opened you need to use the product within 3months. The back also states that it contains anti-bacterial agent that removes dirt, oil and impurities. It is suitable for all skin types, alcohol free and dermatologically and clinically tested
~The price~ and ~Value for money~
Tesco is the only shop which sells these wipes, at 80p for a pack of 25 wipes. Working out the value for money each wipe is approximately 3p per wipe. I find this extreamly good value for money, also a little secret, you can often wash these with some liquid hand-wash and then apply your own cleanser to get more use out of the wipes with the exfoliation still there. However I would possibly not recommend this for people with sensitive skin (I do have sensitive skin and it does not cause any adverse effects, however I would not wish to cause anyone else harm by recommending it)
~The smell~and~the look/feel of product~
The wipes are a simple white colour with one side with a smooth side (which can be used to clean any left over of make up off) The other side is a slightly rougher side which is the exfoliating side. The wipes have a slight clean fresh smell on them however this is not transferred to the skin. The wipes are moist and remain moist whilst in the packet (as long as the seal remains sealed when not in use)
I have been using these wipes for over a year now and cannot find any faults with them at all. I tend to use them in the morning and scrunch up the wipe with the exfoliation side on the outside, then I rub the wipe in a circular motion to clear any dead/flaky skin cells off the face (sometimes when I feel as though my face is grimy one use of these and I feel 'as fresh as a daisy') Having sensitive skin, I have never experienced any adverse reactions to the wipes, I find that after using the wipes my face is a little red which may concern others but this is the blood coming to the surface after using the wipes in the circular motion.
I would rate this product 5/5 I have no problems at all with the product, they work, smell nice and make my skin feel refreshed. Please feel free to comment on anything you wish to know about the product but which I have not put in this review, I have tried to write about everything I would wish to know but a few things may have escaped my mind.
These exfoliating facial wipes are such good value for money! They are around £1.80 for a pack of 25, which i use in around 2 months if i exfoliate every other day. The wipes have a rough side for exfoliating and a softer side for cleansing, a 2 in 1 wipe!
I have really sensitive skin, so i need to be careful what i use, but these have just the right roughness needed to give my skin a good exfoliation and cleanse! I used to have really dry skin on my forehead and cheeks and these wipes keep it under control, enough so that i can now wear make up without my skin drying out and looking horrible.
When i first started using them, i noticed that i always had loads of the wipe still wet and ready to be used so i started to cut them in half, now the pack lasts twice as long. I would recommend doing this, as half is more than enough to exfoliate the face!
Of late I have had a fair few spots and not been getting enough sleep and my skin on my face has suffered for it, not only with spots but I feel my skin looks dull and tired which is why when I spotted these wipes priced at 77p a packet (but on offer at the time I bought them as a buy one get one free) I decided to try them out.
Personally I use make up remover wipes when in a hurry and/or travelling and stuff but do much prefer the method of seperate cleanser and toners as a rule for a deep down clean. However these wipes are not designed to remove make-up as such, though sure you could use them if you want to lift light make up off (no good on heavy though!)
The packaging for these have changed only recently from what you can see on the review photograph at the top of this page to it now being a bright orange oblong shaped plastic packet with an adhesive clear strip to the middle of it which under that you pull the wipes from. On the front of the packet I'm told they are Tesco Clear Skin 25 Exfoliating Facial Wipes and that they help to prevent spots, are suitable for people with sensitive skin and paraben free. Other information on the back of the packet includes being told a bit about the product, directions for use, ingredients and warnings are given, I'm told that once the packet is initially opened to use up the wipes up within 3 months and contact details for Tesco are given.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Packet:

Well like I said earlier these are not really suitable for getting rid of a lot of make up. I use these on a relatively clean face like when I've just woken up in the morning!
Basically these are a thin, papery and white... slightly bumpy textured sheets which are large and square in shape and not too thin though like I said rather than feeling of soft thick material these are rather papery and slightly rough to the touch and when using them.
They smell none distinctive really and are slightly damp. Don't worry abut the smell though it smells very fresh and light and suitable for anyone to use as the smell doesn't stay put once used anyway.
I basically rub one gently over my face and find the sheet to not tear or shred or anything like that. It is slightly scratchy when using it even if I go gentle however it doesn't make my face red, sore or scratch or anything like that.
The wipe does appear to wipe off grease and grime and I can see the residue of those things on the sheet after using it. Skin feels tighter and very smooth when I have wiped this over my skin and face is left feeling clean and with no residue on it at all.
I do think these are a great buy and I like what they do though the sheet does feel cheap in the way of it's thinness and it is rough but I do feel that it cleans the skin well and with ease and I have noticed less spots and blackheads appearing since I've started using them. Also if you have dry bits of skin or a little scabby bits of skin this removes it with ease and without hurting or scarring you. These don't make my skin hurt or tingle and I find them great to use the only real drawback with these is that they don't effectively remove make-up but remember they are not designed for that anyway!
These are effective but I will be looking for a better feeling quality wipe next time to be honest as I'm willing to pay a wee bit more for better quality.
Only available in Tesco stores.

I am really trying to step up my skin care regime at the moment, just trying to make the best of what I've got and all that. I know that regular exfoliating can make a real different to the appearance of my skin but I'm not very consitant and sometimes I go longer than I should without exfoliating.
I was having a good look at the beauty products in Tescos, as it is my favourite aisle in the shop and I spotted a packet of their 'Clear Skin Exfoliating Facial Wipes' I had never seen a product like this before and the whole concept really appealed to me, it seemed that they were a quick way of exfoliating which I thought might encourage me to do it more regularly.
The wipes also were quite a good price, costing 77p for a pack of 25, they were certainly worth trying, so i decided to give them a go.
That evening I gave the wipes a go, I removed one from the packet and gentle wiped it in a circular motion over my whole face. I could feel that the wipes had a knobbled texture and it was these little knobbles that were exfoliating my skin. The wipe did feel quite rough against my skin those and it wasn't really enjoyable. Afterwards I had a good look in the mirror to see if there was any noticeable difference to the appearance of my skin. Normally when I use my old gel type exfoliator, my appearance is instantly improved, it just seems to glow but using these wipe I didn't really notice any difference at all.
Exfoliating is supposed to remove dead skin cells and unblock pores resulting in a clearer and more glowing appearance but these wipes just didn't cut the mustard. I do think that they would be handy for travelling but I certainly won't be replacing my existing exfoliator.

£1.86 for a 25 pack, which works out as 8p per wipe. They are sometimes on offer as buy one get one free.
The wipes come in a pack of 25, the packet is dark purple which fades into light purple lower down the packet. In the centre there a three blue rings and in the centre of the rings is the Tesco logo in light blue Clear skin in large dark blue letters and deep cleansing facial wipes in smaller dark blue letters. There is a sticky flap to open the packet and to re-seal, you have to be careful when you re-seal to make sure that it doesnt loose its stickiness. The packaging is rather plain but the blue fading does catch your eye and you usually see facial wipes in white packets.
They look like something youd wash the dishes wish, they have a bumpy texture with tiny holes to exfoliate your skin.
I use one twice a week, theyre pretty good for cleaning off any make-up and dirt and you afterwards you can feel how much smoother your skin is. I know you wouldnt exfoliate around your eyes but if you do happen to wipe over them it does sting for a minute or so, if this happens to me I usually put some eye gel or moisturiser on as soon as possible. They are for sensitive skin and as long as youre not too rough when you rub them over your face you dont get any irritations, I tend to wipe around in a gentle circular motion wiping a bit harder on areas that are prone to dry skin eg. forehead . Ive never actually seen exfoliating wipes with the texture of these, they usually all look like normal face wipes so its good to know that these were really designed for exfoliating and it wasnt just written on the packet to make the product look better.
The wipes contain an antibacterial ingredient which helps prevent spots and fights bacteria. It helps remove dead skin cells and removes dirt, oil and impurities.
They contain: Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Parfum, Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol, Cetylpyridinium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, 2-bromo-2-nitro propane-1, 3-Diol.
The exfoliating wipes gently remove dead skin, prevent pores from blocking and help to maintain a healthier-looking complexion /
