Advantages: Great price, leaves skin clean and clear, ideal for sensitive skin

Disadvantages: None

I tend to have a couple of face washes on the go at any one time. I always have a St Ives scrub and then vary the other one depending on offers in the supermarkets or shops at the time. When my other facewash had finished I was looking in Tesco for a replacement that would be suitable for my skin, which can be quite sensitive, and get easily irritated. I noticed that Tesco had their own range of clear skin facial washes and scrubs and picked up this particular one: TEsco Clear Skin Purifying Facial Scrub, which currently costs £1.75 for a 150 ml tube, but at the time I purchased it, it was on offer for less, although I still think even at full price this is very good value, especially in comparison to other facial scrubs on the market.

What attracted me to this product was that not only was it a facial scrub, which I find keeps my skin clearer, but that it states on the front of the tube that it is suitable for sensitive skin. It also claims to help prevent spots and be paraben free. The colours and packaging of the product resemble some of the other clear skin products on the market, and is presented in the colours of orange, and several shades of green.

On the reverse of the product, it gives some more information about this range of clear skin products from Tesco. It states that this range has been 'specially formulated with Salicylic Acid to help keep problem skin clear and healthy'. Now suffering from acne as a teenager I always remember the positive effect that a product with salicylic acid that I used at the time, had on my skin, as recommended by the doctor. It also states that this is a 'non foaming' face scrub which will 'remove dead skin cells as well as everyday dirt, oil and impurities that build up'. It is meant toi gently purify your pores and leave your skin feeling healthy and renewed.

It is true to say that this scrub is non foaming but it is easily to apply to your face and you can feel and see the little exfoliating beads in the product, as you massage them into your skin. I have been using this facial scrub for well over 2 weeks now, and firstly, I have had no reaction to it, thus supporting its claim to be suitable for sensitive skin, and I also like the way that it leaves my skin. I sometimes find that the St Ives scrub can leave my skin quite dry in places, but I haven't as yet noticed this product doing so, and I suppose it maybe isn't just as strong an exfoliating scrub at the St Ives, but still works at leaving your skin feeling clean first thing in the morning and last thing at night, removgin any residual make up, not already removed, and leaving my skin feeling healthy and most importantly clear.

With being pregnant, every so often I seem to get a little breakout around my chin area, but I have to say that I think this product has helped keep that under control, and I do believe it probably has a lot to do with the inclusion of the salicylic acid, which as I said, I have had a positive experience with before.

All in all, I would happily recommend this facial scrub. It is just as good as other scrubs that I have tried in the past. It is ideal for sensitive skin like mine, so you don't need to worry about an adverse reaction to it, it leaves skin clean and clear without drying it out, and it does seem to be gentle on the skin, rather than the harsher exfoliating washes out there. What makes this product even more appealing however is the price tag, which at £1.75 is significantly cheaper than many of the branded products on the markets, which in my experience do the same job. A great product from Tesco that I would happily buy again!

Summary: A good facial scrub from Tesco that can compete with leading brands
