“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Toner / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
Anyone who reads my reviews on a regular basis will be aware of the fact that I use a lot of products from Tesco's own range, and their beauty products are no exception. I always feel that generally speaking, they represent excellent value for money and they are nearly always a great quality product. I like to use a toner after I have washed or cleansed my face and as I have used a few products in the 'cucumber' range from Tesco I decided to give this a try.
I have been using it now for quite a while and if I were to compare it to the cucumber toner I have used from Boots, then I'd have to say that I prefer this one. The packaging is plain and simple and the toner itself costs only 80p for a 150ml-sized bottle.
I use this toner much like I use any other of my facial toners. It's in a watery liquid format and I apply it to cotton wool balls and gently glide it across my face and neck (avoiding the eye area, as it advises on the back of the bottle). The toner smells and feels both fresh and clean and it certainly removes all traces of make up and grime that I am not able to remove with either soap and water or with one of my facial washes. It has a very mild tingling effect whilst it is drying on my skin, but what I really like about this toner is that fact that it doesn't make my skin feel tight, dry or dehydrated. With a lot of the cheaper brands of facial toners, I find that they can be quite harsh and astringent and they can have a really unpleasant drying-out effect on my skin.
This toner is really mild and gentle and yet it's also effective in that it removes al traces of grime and debris. It never leaves a sticky or tacky feeling on my skin after I have used it and also it is suitable for even the most sensitive of skins and it's been dermatologically tested.
For only 80p a bottle, I really do think this toner compares very favourably with the more expensive brands out there. I really cannot recommend it enough.
Tesco cucumber toner
I usually just add things like skin toners to my online shopping list as I have no loyalty to any particular brand and often find that for my skin they do the same job.
This toner contains cucumber extract and Vitamin E, apparently chosen for the moisturising properties which will care for skin. It promises to remove the last remaining traces of make up and cleanser to leave skin soft and clean. It is dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
As expected for the price the packaging is a fairly simple white bottle with the instructions for use on the back and basically the name of the product on the front. This doesn't bother me as I'm not especially concerned about packaging but if you need fancier stuff then maybe not the one to buy. The lid is a flip up to open and flip down to close type and then the toner is easily dispensed through the hole.
As expected the toner is completely clear and does smell slightly of cucumber. Not unpleasantly so, but sufficient so that I know that it does contain cucumber extract.
USING THE TONER...
To use I simply apply a bit of the toner to a cotton wool pad and then gently wipe my face after I have thoroughly cleansed it. I find that because it is a liquid, then no squeezing or shaking of the bottle is required, it simply comes out of the plastic bottle. It does make my skin feel really clean and removes all last traces of grime. I always like to use a toner because before I use it I always feel as though I have a clean face but after the toner removes all of the grime I realise I still had a dirty face!
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
This one costs the princely sum of 80p for 150 ml of the stuff and is available online at www.tesco.com or in tesco stores. Even if it proves to be inadequate its not going to break the bank!
FOR 80 p this is great! It's gentle on may skin and really does remove all last traces of grime and make up.
I will certainly buy this again.
