Tesco Vitamin E Face Scrub
Advantages: GOOD PRICE
Disadvantages: MADE MY SKIN DRY
I have recently tried out the Tesco Vitamin E face scrub and this is my review.
I had been shopping in my local Tesco store when I saw their range of cosmetics and I liked the look of the Vitamin E products so decided to buy the face scrub and see what it was like. I have also been trying to save some money on my weekly shop and thought that the Tesco own brand of products might be a bit cheaper than some cosmetics I would normally buy. I paid 75 pence for the tube of Tesco Vitamin E face scrub which I thought was very good value.
The packaging is quite nice looking and it is a plastic tube with a plastic cap at the bottom. The tube stands up on its cap which I think is a good idea as it stores in the bathroom cabinet nicely. The plastic tube is a peach colour and I think it looks quite nice. The tube is 150ml sized and this is a bigger bottle than the last tube of face scrub that I bought so I think the Tesco Vitamin E scrub is great value.
I use a face scrub on my face every two or three days as I think they are good at cleansing facial pores and removing traces of dirt. Because I do not use the scrub products too often they do not usually dry my face out to much.
So I was surprised when the Tesco Vitamin E scrub dried my face out to much and made my skin look slightly flaky on my forehead. I think that the Tesco scrub is to harsh for my own skin but maybe other people might not find this is the case when they try it. I was surprised by how dry my skin was after using the Tesco scrub because it did not feel to harsh when I was using it on my face.
A lot of face scrub products feel quite scratchy and harsh when I am rubbing them into the skin but the Tesco Vitamin E face scrub did not feel harsh at all. The scrub is more like a facial wash gel and it did not contain any harsh beads to rub into my skin. The beads and little bits in the scrub felt quite smooth and soft when I used it on my face and it felt nice when I was using it.
The Tesco scrub is very easy to use and all I do is to squeeze a small amount of the scrub from the tube and rub a few drops of water into it in my hand. Then I spread the scrub over my damp skin and do this for a few minutes to make sure all of the face is covered, but you need to make sure you don't get any of the product in your eyes or it will sting.
The Tesco Vitamin E scrub did not foam up to much when I was putting it on to my face but I think facial wash products have more soap in them than facial scrub products so this was not to much of a let down for me and I was not to bothered about this as I wash my face each morning with a facial cleanser that contains soap products anyway. I thought the Tesco Vitamin E scrub was quite easy to wash off my face and it did not take to long as it was not to soapy. The scrub has a nice smell to it but it is not to overpowering or anything and the smell does not last to long after I have finished using the scrub on my face. The smell reminds me of soap or bubble bath but is not flowery or to strong.
I thought that the Tesco scrub cleaned my face quite well and my skin felt clean and quite fresh after I had used it on my face but the skin on my forehead felt very dry and quite tight which I thought was a bit uncomfortable. I had to apply a lot of moisturiser products to help the tight feeling in my skin go away and this helped the feeling.
I would not buy the Tesco Vitamin E scrub again as it really dried my skin out and I think it is to harsh for me to use on my skin. I would not suggest giving it a try out as I thought it was a bit of a waste of money and will be throwing the rest of the tube of face scrub in the bin! In future I will stick to buying something I have tried before because I know what dries my skin out and what doesn't.
Summary: WOULD NOT BUY THIS AGAIN
