“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Cleansing Wipes / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Cleanses, „
I used to buy these facial wipes all the time but I haven't seen them around for a while.
The wipes come in peach coloured packaging and there's 25 wipes in the pack. The wipes are soft yet strong and they smell nice too. The smell is what I would describe as quite fresh smelling and pleasant. The scent isn't too overpowering either, it's just right. The wipes are white in colour and they're of a decent shape and size. The wipes need to be kept in their packaging as this helps to keep them moist, just remember to seal the pack each time that you open it! If you don't seal the pack the wipes dry out pretty quickly, then they're no good to you.
The wipes feel nice against the face. They're easy and pleasant to use. They cleanse and refresh the face during the day (and night) - perfect for hot summer days when you need something to cool you down. These wipes do help you to cool down as they're really refreshing. The wipes also remove make-up and impurities from the skin. After using these wipes my skin feels really fresh and clean and the wipes help to control excess oil, which is something that I suffer from on a regular basis.
The wipes are a quick and easy way to cleanse your skin. They're ideal for grubby hands too and they're great for travelling as you can easily carry the pack around with you.
Great value facial wipes.
I wanted some facial wipes for times when I go swimming, to the spa or any time when I need to take my make-up quickly without having to go to much effort or if I'm just feeling lazy. After seeing these in Tesco's, I decided to the read the given information on the back and decided that these would be ideal.
The packaging is very simple and basic, (the picture above is the old packaging) the wipes come in a peach packet. On the front of the packet there is a clear stick film which you can pull back so you can remove the wipes and then it re sticks so the wipes inside are protected so they remain moist. On the front is the the Tesco logo and on the back is some information about the product itself including ingredients and direction of use.
I really like these wipes and have been using them for quite a while now. They are really quick and simple to use and can remove them from the packet without any difficulty. The wipes themselves are white and are quick thick, which prevents them from tearing whilst using them. They are not overly moist so you are not left with wet face or hands. The smell is fairly distinctive at first, which reminds me of the smell of cucumber which is fairly pleasant but its not overpowering and fades quickly after using and throwing away the wipe. I like these because they remove my make-up extremely well, leaving your skin feel fresh and clean. I have found that if you use this for too long on your eyes and you rub particularly hard, they do leave a stinging sensation, which is unpleasant. That is the only downside, so I would recommend not using this on your eyes if you wear a lot of eye make-up. But if your like myself and only tend to use a little, it is very good and can get it off easily without any fuss. I also find that they are brilliant if you have just worked out and you want to quickly freshen up, as these do make your skin feel sensational and completely fresh.
I bought these in Tesco's for about £1.50 for 25 wipes, which I think is an excellent price for the quality of the product and the fact that they are very easy to use. I would highly recommend these, but if you do wear a lot of eye make-up then be careful due to the fact, they did hurt my eyes after using them on a night out and left my eyes irritated and red. These are disposable and is recommended that you use one per use.
Overall a fantastic product can't complain about anything in particular, I would definitely give these a try.
I had previously reviewed Tesco sensitive cosmetic wipes, and had been regularly using them, not to cleanse my face, but to remove any eye make up in the evening, before washing my face properly. However not long after I reviewed that particular item, Tesco promptly put the price up, and secondly seemed to inconsistently stock this item.
I did not want to spend a fortune on this item, as it was literally for eye make up removal, so I decided to give these Tesco vitamin E cleansing wipes a go, costin 47p for 25. Now, my only big concern about using these wipes, was that I have sensitive skin and I was worried that I might react to this product when using it around my eyes, but at that price, I was willing to give it a shot, and I figured that if I started to think it wasn't agreeing with me, I would just ditch them, and therefore hadn't lost much.
My wipes come in what I can only imagine is newer packagin that than shown on the picture at the top of the screen. The colours of the packaging are generally the same, with a peachy colour being used all over in the new design. On the front of the packaing it states that these Vitamin E wipes 'cleanse and moisturise' as well as being 'dermatologically tested. paraben free and pH balanced'.
On the reverse of the pack, it states that these facial wipes are 'enriched with vitamin E' which is nown for it anti oxidant properties, as well as protecting and conditioning the skin. It claims that these wipes can be used for 'removing make up, cleansing, toning and moisturising the skin' with the end result being soft and smooth skin. Further down the back of the packet there is a warning, which I did not notice when buying this item, that contact with eyes should be avoided. In my case noticing this after use was a little on the late side.
I only use these wipes on the days that I wear mascara or eye shadow, which is not everyday, and so 25 wipes lasts a good length of time with me, even when they are thrown away straight after a single usage. As I said earlier, I have sensitive skin and so was slightly apprehensive about using these, but I must say, that to simply use for removing make up, there has been no reaction with my skin. Now, if you are planning to use these on a daily basis to clean your face and you have sensitive skin, there may be more of a reaction to these wipes. Also, although the reverse of the packet states that you should avoid contact with the eyes, I have had absolutely no problems in removing eye make up with these wipes, and have had no reaction with my eyes at all. They remove the eye make up well, usually with one good wipe, but something with a couple of goes, but by the end of using one wipe, I have removed all my eye make up, before then washing my face with another product.
I really don't like spending a fortune on wipes when I simply only use them to remove eye make up, and at 47p I think that is an ideal price for my to pay for all that I use these for. Obviously if I was using them as a daily facial wipe I would expect to pay a lot more, but I am very pleased with the effects at removing eye make up of these wipes and therefore have no complaints, even with sensitive skin!
It was by chance that I came across these wipes as I was actually looking for my usual face wash when I spotted them on the shelf. I decided that I would have a closer look at the packet and after reading it decided they sounded good and ideal for slipping into my gym bag to freshen up before I got home and washed.
(The above image is for the old style packaging)
The wipes come in a little peach coloured packet, resembling the style of a baby wipe packet. The product name and Tesco logo is on the front of the back and on the back we have all of the relevant information about the wipes.
On the top of the packet there is a clear stick film which pulls back so you can remove the wipes and then re sticks so the remaining wipes stay moist.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
The wipes are very simple to use and you just need to use them to rub over the face and neck area. They are easy to remove from the packet and only one comes out each time so none get wasted. They are white in colour and are a good size, they measure approximately 19 x 15cm. They are a good thickness so do not rip or tear when being pulled out of the packet or used. The wipes do feel moist but not overly so, so you wont be left with wet hands after using them.
There is a scent on the wipes and for me the smell remind me of cucumber. The smell is very noticeable when the wipe is first removed from the packet but once t has been used and thrown away the smell does go away. I have never noticed a prolonged smell on my hands or face from sing these.
I mainly use these wipes just to freshen my face after a good work out in the gym, I do find they help me a lot and take away the horrible sweaty and grubby feeling I always end up with. I have also used these on the odd occasion when I have worn foundation to remove it and it does a great job and makes sure there is none left on my face. When I have initially wiped my face with these my skin feels quite damp and very fresh and within a few moments it feels completely dry but I do still get the fresh feeling remaining. There is no tingling feeling from using the wipes and I am pleased about this as I do not like having that feeling.
The one down side to the wipes would be that they cannot be used on the eyes, they would have been great if we could have done this as they are good for removing makeup.
The wipes come in a pack size of 25 and they last me about 2 weeks as only one wipe is needed for each use. The wipes are not to be flushed away and they must be disposed of in the rubbish bin.
The ingredients for the wipes include:-
Aqua, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin, Ceteareth-12, Tocopheryl Acerate, Polysorbate 20, PEG-35, Castor oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf juice, Parfum, Sodium Citerte, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzoic Acid
The shelf life for the wipes is 3 months once the packet has been open.
There is a claim on the packet that the wipes have been Dermatologically tested and contain no alcohol but there is no mention as to whether or not these have been made using animal testing.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
These wipes are a Tesco own branded product so they are only available to buy in their stores. They have the great price tag of only 48p and personally I think they are a complete bargain. They only come in the one pack size and perhaps they should consider making a larger pack so they will last for a full month.
I have no problems in giving these wipes a high recommendation and the full 5 stars. They are great for removing make up and freshening the face and neck area and the price tag is a bonus. The small pack size is ideal for slipping into a hand or gym bag but perhaps a larger packet would be better for in the bathroom at home. For the price you really have nothing to loose in giving them a try.
I am not particularly loyal to face wipe brands and tend to find them all much the same. I had converted to the Body Shop's vitamin E range so thought that these wipes would compliment that.
The packet is different to that pictured, it is a pink/peachy colour all over which makes it quite distinctive and looks nice enough. The packet is fairly easy to open, although I do find it a little fiddly sometimes. There is a transparent strip of plastic which pulls up to reveal the wipes lying flat underneath, so you simply 'pinch and pull' the topmost wipe each time. The resealable strip works well and I have not had any problems with it losing its stickiness as I have with other brads in the past.
The wipes themselves were softer than I expected but still rougher than other brands, and felt wet to the touch. However I like the fact that they don't leave my face feeling wet or sticky after use. They area good size and in fact I normally tear them into three as a go along and find that a third of the wipe is more that enough for normal 'day' makeup. I know that makes me sound really stingy but what can I say, I don't like waste!
The wipes do have a slight fragrance but it is not overpowering or unpleasant, although I couldn't quite put my finger on what they smell of. It is a nice fresh smell and actually smells a little bit similar to the Body Shop products.
In terms of performance, the wipes remove makeup quickly and thoroughly and I have never had any difficulty removing even waterproof mascara or eyeliner.
Overall, these wipes aren't sensational and if you were used to a more expensive brand I think you would find the texture rough. However they agree with my skin and for the price, I think they are brilliant value. I was sure I usually pay around 70p for mine but have just checked Tesco's website and they are currently listed for 40p (for a pack of 25) so perhaps they are even more of a bargain than I thought!
I am a regular user of facial wipes and whichever brand I am using, they are a daily part of my make-up removal regime. I do tend to stick with the big brands and particularly with brands that are kind to my skin. I have dry and sensitive skin and have to be careful with the types of products I use especially on my face. Therefore, when I find something that works for me, I stick with it.
I have used a few different products in the past that contain vitamin E although not necessarily Tesco products. I am always mindful of particular ingredients that are good for the skin which is why I am always attracted to products that contain vitamin E. I must admit that if these wipes weren't so cheap in price I don't know whether I would have given them a try. The packaging is very plain. The packaging is slightly different to the pack pictured above - it is simply a peach coloured pack with text on the plastic seal.
These wipes unbelievably cost only 40p which is by far the cheapest facial wipe I have ever bought. I usually spend around £2-£4 on each pack of wipes. I thought I would give these wipes a chance but I did have quite low expectations when I bought them.
The Tesco vitamin E facial wipes come in a pack of 25 much like most other brands. I do always wonder why there are 25 wipes in the packs and not 30 to enable you to have a whole months use from the pack!! It is claimed that the wipes have been enriched with vitamin E for its anti-oxidant, protecting and conditioning properties to care for your skin. It is also claimed that the wipes have been specifically formulated to remove make up, cleanse, tone and moisturise skin leaving it soft and smooth. I would agree with this. The wipes do effectively remove make up and cleanse and tone your skin. They were a good substitute for the branded wipes I normally use. The Tesco vitamin E facial wipes did moisturise my skin which is always a concern for me as I have very dry skin and have used wipes previously that have completely dried out my face. Thankfully, my skin was soft and smooth after using these wipes with no dry skin in sight. I do think that wipes are a little coarser than others I have used but not enough to put me off using them.
I would say that each individual wipe is smaller than most of the other branded wipes I have used. The Tesco vitamin E facial wipes are a sufficient size to use on the whole face but I'm not sure that these wipes would be large enough to use after a night out when I tend to wear more make up particularly eye make up. I also have not tested how well these wipes remove waterproof mascara. I also noticed that the Tesco vitamin E facial wipes were quite thin but despite this fact they are moist and do not dry out. This is vitally important to me as I hate using wipes that are too dry or the pack dries out after a few uses. The wipes are very fragrant and the scent reminds me slightly of cucumber. They smell very refreshing and clean.
These wipes are fantastic considering the price. They aren't the best quality wipes I have used but they do exactly what they claim. They are a brilliant budget buy that I will use again and I would definitely recommend.
I used to swear by Tesco vitamin E make up remover. It was so cheap, and worked fantastically well. There was never even any need to try a different one. That was, until they changed the packaging. They said the formula inside still stayed the same, but it really wasn't, and irritated mine and my Mum's eyes, whereas it hadn't before.
The other day I was scouring the Tesco shelves to try and find the nearest replacement, when I came across these. They were the nearest equivalent, they were even packaged just the same as the make up remover. They were Vitamin E facial wipes. Tesco own. They cost apporx 30p, which seemed an absolute bargain. Even if I just tried one and it was useless and I had to put it in the bin I wouldn't have lost much money!
The wipes come in very simple packaging. The thick plastic envelope is qhite and peach. There are no pictures and just basic text on what the envelope contains. The envelope has a clear plastic 'sticky' on the top. When you lift this up it bears a hole which you pull the wipes out of. You then re-seal it. It is really important to re-seal it perfectly, as if you don't the wipes will dry out and then be completely useless.
The wipes are nice and soft and quite thick, so they won't break or tear if you give them a bit of a pull. They feel good on the skin and remove make up and dirt completely.
I have sensitive dry skin and I am very pleased to say that these do not dry it out further or irritate it at all.
The only downside to these wipes as apposed to make up remover on cotton wool is that you have to do a bit more rubbing and wiping to get the dirt off as they are not quite so moist. This is a really tiny downside, though, these are fantastic wipes for a fantastic price!
I always cleanse my face at night before I go to bed and always use wipes when I am away from home as they are easier to carry. I usually use ones from Boots or The Body Shop but a few weeks ago I read a review about the Tesco Vitamin E wipes. The review was very positive but it was the price that really made me sit up and take notice - 48p for a pack of 25 wipes!
Not being one to turn my nose up at a bargain (in fact I am quite the reverse!) I purchased a pack the next time I was in Tesco doing my shopping.
The packet is slightly different from the one shown at the top of this review. It is plain a peachy colour with the words 'Tesco Vitamin E 25 cleansing wipes cleanses and moisturises dermatologically tested parabens free ph balanced'. There is a bit more information on the back of the packet together with a list of the ingredients and the Tesco price promise to refund or replace any item which doesn't meet the expected standards. So far so good then.
To remove a wipe from the packet you just have to peel back the plastic cover on the front of the packet to reveal an oval shaped hole through which you remove a wipe. You then reseal the packet to keep the remaining wipes moist. Incidentally this works - my wipes were moist down to the very last one.
The wipe itself is soft and moist without being too wet and has a light flowery fragrance. It feels really nice as I wipe it over the skin on my face and my face feels cleanses and refreshed when I have finished. I did notice that my face also felt moisturised when I used these wipes as some wipes can leave my skin feeling very tight and dry.
I don't normally wear makeup and use a wipe or cleanser each night just to clean away the general grime of the day which can range from very little if I have been relaxing or it can be quite a lot if I have been sawing wood for our log burner! Actually having the log burner doesn't help as there is always a slight sootiness in the air.
As I said no matter what the circumstances these wipes have performed amazing well and I will be buying these on a regular basis from now on.
They are definitely the bargain of the year! Unitl I find another one anyway! LOL!
After browsing in Tesco's a couple of weeks ago I realised I needed some face wipes. I always use facial cleansing wipes and I run out of them so quickly that they are always on my shopping list. Looking on the shelves I really couldn't believe the price of some of them. Ok, some were advertising an all new face while others were offering a full blown facial in one wipe! But at prices such as £4.99 I almost wanted to get a price check. Yes I want to look after my skin, but unfortunately £5 can go a lot further then 25 facial cleansing wipes! I have loads of creams, cleansers and scrubs; all I wanted was some basic facial wipes that would clean my face in a decent, friendly sort of way. So just as I was about to give up I saw a peachy coloured packet looking up at me. It looked basic but still pretty on the eye. But then I saw the price.....
Yes that is correct, 25 cleansing wipes, for a credit crunching £0.49p!!!!!!!!!
Ok so I doubted the quality, but I all I needed was basic and these looked a bit more then that so in went 2 packets.
These Cleansing wipes are actually Tesco branded Vitamin E cleansing wipes. The peachy packet says on the back that the whole range (yes they do facial scrub and other things for under £1!!!) has been enriched with Vitamin E for its anti-oxidant protecting and conditioning properties. I know from experience that anything with Vitamin E is slightly kinder to my skin. It may not make it feel like I am fresh faced in a poppy field but it still adds a bit more face friendly conditioner to the wipes. So I knew that they couldn't be absolutely rubbish. Plus at 2p per wipe, I could hardly complain. Tesco also state that these wipes are specially formulated to cleanse tone and moisturise your skin leaving it soft and smooth. I just wonder how they can sell these at 49p when other brands promise the same for 10x more money.
So the important thing is what they were actually like to use...
When I first opened the label on the front (which is a large one which covers a lot of the front of the pack, so I found that the wipes stayed fresher and dint dry out.... 1 gold star already!) I was surprised at how moist the face wipes were. I was expecting a thin sheet of tissue, but instead got a thick sheet of soft white material which was moist to touch. It also had a lovely soft fragrance. Some people might find the fragrance too strong, but I liked it. It is a soft light fruity fragrance that softly wraps itself around you. Lovely and fresh.
As I slowly used the wipe to clean over my face it felt quite moist and soapy, but it did feel refreshing. It didn't make my face feel like I was rubbing a rough towel over my face. It smoothed over my skin nicely and really did get rid of the dirt. I have to say that one wipe cleaned my face perfectly with or without make up. I have only had to use 2 wipes if I have waterproof, mascara but even then it works so well that I don't have Panda eyes the next morning.
After using the wipes but skin does feel ever so slightly dry, but it really isn't that mad as I always moisturise after cleansing anyway. But if you have extremely dry skin I am not sure this would be your best friend unless you moisturise straight after cleansing, then it won't matter.
I think these facial cleansing wipes are brilliant. Honestly, they clean well without making my face red or sore; they really do get rid of those nasty bits of dirt and grime out of your skin and leaves it feeling clean and fresh. The results are excellent for the price (don't tell Tesco as I am sure they will increase the price!).
I still can't quite believe how brilliant these are for the price, the packaging is even quite appealing. (They seem to have upgraded them since Dooyoo put up the picture as now they look far more appealing!) Far from the white plain own brand packaging you would expect, it is a fresh peach colour plastic wrap which is sealed, as mentioned earlier with a large label which really does stop the wipes drying out. I have had other more expensive wipes where the label has been so small that it either traps the wipes or just sticks to itself or just doesn't cover the opening properly! So this is perfect. I will definitely pick up the other face care products in this range.
I recommend this to everyone; if you prefer the more 'up-market' brand I dare you just to give these a go and you might end up saving yourself a small fortune.
100% Recommended, kind to your skin and kind to your bank account!
I have used Tesco Vitamin E Cleansing Wipes for several years. Initially I was looking for a gentle product that would be suitable for removing make up, and being so inexpensive I thought I had little to lose by purchasing a packet.
The wipes have had a revamp since the picture depicted on this page was uploaded. The packet is now entirely peach in colour, with the text a rich brown/red against the background. The packet measures 15cm x 11.5cm and contains 25 cleansing wipes. The wipes are approximately the size of pocket tissues, and folded neatly inside the pack for easy storage. In the centre of the packet there is a hole measuring 3.5cm x 2.5cm through which the tissues can be neatly pulled through. The hole is covered by a transparent plastic sticker, which allows you to reseal the pack, and thus have the wipes retain their moisture and freshness. I have always found the sticker to retain its adhering properties, and thus the wipes are always fresh even when I reach the final one.
The wipes are white in colour, and fairly soft to the touch. They have a mild fragrance that is both sweet and slightly floral. I use the wipes by folding them into four, then wiping the excess make up off my skin following cleansing. It is shocking how much excess foundation and liquid eye liner remains on the skin even after a fairly thorough cleansing with a liquid product. Using the wipes gives me a good deal of control, and I can choose how much pressure to apply to my skin when wiping the product over my face. The wipes should not be used around the eye area or on broken or irritated skin. I have inadvertently used the wipes near my eyes on occasion, and while I have not experienced any significant stinging, I do find I need to apply some water to the area following this.
The wipes are dermatologically tested, alcohol and paraben free, while also being pH balanced. It is not recommended that you flush the wipes down the toilet after use, and I always dispose of mine in the bin. Up until about six months ago the wipes cost approximately 28p, compared to the 48p they now retail at. However, even though they have almost doubled in price, this product is a bargain. I could not be without the wipes now, and for such a fantastic product they cost significantly less than other cleansing wipes I have seen. Highly recommended.
I have had a bit of a nightmare with facial products in the recent past and had a big allergic reaction causing all my eyes to swell up. As I wear make up every day I also need make up wipes and as a result of these allergic reactions I found that I was searching for expensive brands of make up wipes for sensitive skin in the hope that they would do the job better. I have never had sensitive skin until around 6 months ago and as I was getting a bit fed up of paying over three quid for a pack of make up wipes I decided to look at the cheaper alternatives.
Tesco's vitamin E facial wipes fall into that category. I paid just 48p for a pack of 25 which is a great deal considering all we do with these things is get them dirty and then throw them in the bin!
The wipes come in a peach coloured packet and on the packet is a small Tesco logo along with a description of the item. It states the product "cleanses and moisturises" and is dermatologically tested. On the back of the pack are the ingredients and directions for use.
To open the pack you need to peel back a sticky label which then exposes the wipes. It's important to leave the label on so you can stick it back down again otherwise the wipes tend to dry out very quickly. The wipes pull out in the same manner as a tissue in a box in that you pull a small section and the whole wipe comes out. I have never had any issues with more than one wipe coming out at once which has happened in the past with other brands I have used.
The wipes have the usual slightly fragranced make up wipe smell that all the others seem to have. They do as good a job as the more expensive wipes at taking off my make up. I do struggle to get my entire eye make up off but I do that regardless of which brand I use-I do wear a lot of eye make up so I would imagine that is the issue rather than the quality of the wipes.
Whilst I wouldn't say that my skin feels healthier than at other times after using these wipes, considering they contain vitamin E, they do the job I want them to do. I buy night creams and things to apply and they are more expensive so all I want these to do is cleanse my face which is exactly what they do!
I would certainly recommend these! After looking at other reviews it appears the price on this product fluctuates between 50p and a pound so I would recommend doing what I do and buying a few packs when you see them on a cheaper offer. It is also handy to note that the product is covered by Tesco's promise whereby they are happy to refund or replace any Tesco product which falls below the high standard that you expect. Therefore if you have any issues you can always pop back to store and see a member of customer services and get a refund.
I'm always one to look out for a bargain so when I spotted these the other day for just 27p I picked myself up a few packs to try them out (however since then I have seen the price yo-yo a bit from 27p to 77p and back again)
The pack that I got was slightly different from the image shown, in that it was all a salmon pink colour. I would say that there is around 25 wipes in each pack and I normally use one in the morning and evening, just before cleansing and toning, so one pack tends to last me about 2 weeks.
They don't really have a fragrance that I can smell and all that I can smell is a light, fresh fragrance which does smell clean.
The wipes are an average size that you would expect, maybe just a slightly smaller that some of the more expensive brands. The wipe has a lot of moisture to it, which means it feels fresh on the skin on the morning, however there can sometimes be some excess on the skin which can easily just be dabbed up with a tissue.
It leaves my skin feel fresh, clean and soft. Due to is having vitamin E it doesn't dry out my skin, but moisturises it, which therefore leaves it soft.
However if you are after these to remove make up, then these don't really do that, which is why I always cleanse and tone. They will remove most of it, however I always end up with little circles underneath my eyes in the morning.
All in all I think that these are really good wipes for refreshing your face and not drying them out, however if you want them to remove make up I suggest that you look elsewhere.
I bought these a couple of weeks back now. I was looking for some face wipes, I tend to use a higher brand but was shocked when I saw that these costed nearly £4 for 25 wipes. Considering I use these twice a day they were not going to last too long so I decided to look for something a bit cheaper! These Tesco wipes came in at just 48p for 25 wipes. I thought this was a bargain and if they didnt do their job I wouldnt have even wasted 50p.
The packaging of the product has had a slight update since Tesco added them to their catalogue, the packet is now peach in colour with large red bold letters on the front telling me that the wipes both cleanse and moisturise and they are pH balanced.
Opening the wipes was easy, you just peel back the front and pull a wipe out. I found it easy to get just one wipe out rather than getting the whole packet! The wipes were wet, but not too wet - just enough to clean your face with! Wiping them over your face I found the wipes remained moist enough to do my whole face with one wipe. I use them both in the morning when my skin is clean and in the evening to remove my make up. They remove make up really well and I find that the morning after I am not left with a trace of make up.
At the time when I started using these wipes I was in the middle of exams and having an outbreak of huge spots! These didnt clear up within the first couple of days of using the wipes but after a couple of days the spots cleared up really quickly compared to what I thought they would have without the wipes.
I also suffer from both sensitive and dry skin. I am pleased to say that the wipes have not caused any irritation on my skin and the dry skin I had around my nose has gone. My skin feels an awful lot smoother and softer and looks better too.
I will continue to buy these wipes. At 48p you really cant go wrong, even if you just use them to remove make up! They are kind to skin and do their job very well. A bargain face wipe from Tesco!
I started using face wipes some years ago after being unable to get my skin wet after a minor operation on my nose. I noticed that during the period that I couldnt wash my face and was using face wipes my skin felt so much better and no longer had a tight feeling that kept me grabbing my tub of moisurizer every hour or so, and decided not to wash it anymore and carry on with the wipes.
The only draw back was I found them much more expensive than soap as I used at least 6 per day and as they usually come in packs of 25 needed a new pack every 4 days or so. I tried several different brands, some better than others but all around the £2.28 per pack mark.
I started to look around for a cheaper alternative and tried a few different ones but either they were too dry or dried out quickly once opened or were not suitable for the eye area.
I was browsing Tesco's doing my weekly shop and saw a big tub of Tesco's own brand of Facial wipes with Vitamin E in a big tub in the centre of the store price 28p per pack. My initial thought was they cant be good but picked up a pack anyway.
The pack says that they are alcohol free and designed to remove make-up, cleanse, moisturize and tone. They do however say to avoid direct contact with the eyes.
On opening the pack I noticed they are very moist, a good sign for removing make-up. I had a good face full of make-up on that day and needed two wipes to get it all off. I did take my eye make-up off with them and had no stinging or adverse affects. The pack stayed moist until I had finished all the pack. You need to make sure that you put the sticky label back across the opening to keep them moist, but the label is very strong and I have never had one come undone after I have resealed it.
The next week the large tub in the store was still there at the same price. Must be on offer I thought and grabbed 10 packs for a total of £2.80, however I have been using them now for almost a year and they have remained at 28 pence.
I would not say that they are any better than other branded face wipes but they are certainly no worse and are a lot cheaper than any I have ever found that are any good. They do the job they say they will and do not dry out the skin at all.
When I spotted these in Tesco's priced at 28p how could I not buy them? I could definitely afford to give them a try. Usually Simple's facial wipes are my favourite because my skin is sensitive, but I go through about 4 wipes a day to wipe off my make-up or sometimes I will wipe my ugg's with them too and priced at £4 for 25 wipes it can get a bit expensive. You can use wipes as a replacement for cleansing your face and to take off eye make-up. Although, I only use them to take off my make up and wash my face afterwards with a cleanser. I use them in the morning when I'm putting my make-up on incase I get any mascara on my eyelids, and at night to take everything off.
The wipes are packaged different to the photo above at the minute. The packet is completely orange and mostly plain. It has 'Tesco Vitamin E cleansing wipes' in brownish writing, it has an effective seal and it will be placed with the rest of the Tesco vitamin E range which is all extremely cheap. It also tells you one the back of the packet to use within 3 months, which does not matter as they're so inexpensive I could afford to buy some everyday and usually my wipes are gone by a week and a half.
The wipes claim to cleanse and moisturise. They are also dermatologically tested, paraben free and PH balanced. Which is great because I have sensitive skin.
When I opened the pack I was a little bit scared because they had a strong perfumed scent and the Simple wipes I've used have always been perfume free. It's a nice fresh scent but I don't really want to be putting nice smelling wipes on my face as I'm really conscious about my skin. The wipes are actually incredibly moist, they're smaller than your average wipes but not too small. They're really strong and not breakable as most cheapy wipes tend to break a lot easier and get a bit fuzzy (I know this after been given some free Superdrug wipes once) I was really impressed in that sense.
I used them to take off my mascara, I wear tons of mascara and I like something to take it off effortlessly so I'm not prone to premature ageing. They removed all traces without having to rub my eyes harshly but they did require a bit more work than my Simple wipes. I only wear a tinted moisturiser and they took that off nicely but it was hard to see how much I was taking off because they're not as thick as what I usually use. Saying that, after using them my skin felt moisturised and supple and I felt a bit more refreshed.
The ingredients are no worse than branded wipes :
Aqua, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycerin, Ceteareth-12, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polysorbate 20, PEG-35 Castor Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Parfum, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzoic Acid.
They also contain vitamin E which helps restore the skin and provides protection against ageing.
Overall I think these wipes are an absolute bargain and they're great for people who are keeping an eye on the pennies or for people who use masses of wipes. They're not harsh on your skin and leave you feeling refreshed and moisturised, the seal on the packet is the most effective I've used and it has not peeled back on me yet! However, I think I will indulge in the Simple wipes as they do not contain perfume and I like something a bit more pure as perfume can tend to irritate my skin if I use it for a long period of time, I don't mind using these when times are hard though, they're excellent value for money.
