“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Facial Wash / Subcategory: Foam / Suitable for: Face „
I have a very strange face, sometimes I am covered all over in spots, yet sometimes I am completely spot free. For years I have been using every single face wash by hundreds of different brands, some have improved my skin, yet some have increase the amount of spots I have. I have found that my skin reacts better to products with more natural ingredients and less chemicals, so I was more than happy to try this when I saw it on my weekly shop at tesco.
I was very shocked when I looked at the price label for this product! It's only 70p for a 150ml bottle. At that price it is almost 3x cheaper than the other branded similar products. This face wash really is excellent value for money! I have no issues payig so little for the product as I have always found the tesco skin care range to be of good quality and usually react well to my skin.
Does it work well on the face?:
It does work very well with my skin, after I apply this and wash it off my skin looks bright and clear. It also does not dry out the skin and leaves it feeling fresh and clean, it had also helped me to reduce the amount of spots I had forming around my t-zone. The face wash lathers up well and you really only need a small amount in your hands to get a decent coverage over your face, the wash also washes off easily from your face, the liquid is clear which I believe shows its simple yet effective . This product is just as good as more expensive products I have used in the past.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a simple face wash which is kind to the skin and helped to keep spots less Angry. It is good for all ages, excellent for teens and adults alike. It's such an affordable product and will be saving me lots of money as other brands seem to want to rip you off. This product reminds me of the simple range as its natural and good for the skin. For me this product gets 5 stars, I can't find any faults with it!
I bought tesco foaming facial wash after trying the equivalent in their cleanser range and really quite liking it. The vitamin E foaming facial wash was on special offer for £1. When not on offer I believe it was around £2.20.
The facial wash comes in a soft plastic tube, styled a bit like a chunkier toothpaste tube. It has a round flat lid which is sits upright on. This makes it very easy to dispense the product and make sure you can get the last dribs and drabs out of the tube. Very important to maximise the economy of products in this time of recession. You do not need to use much of this product to do a good job, on my face I use a small blob, between a 5 and 10 pence piece size.
The product itself is a white liquid style cream, which is quite thick in txture. Once you rub it in and touch water with it it foams up and spreads into a lather over your face. It is soft to the touch and has a very subtle scent which is often associated with vitamin E type products. Even though this product appears to do quite a deep cleanse, it is not harsh to the skin and I didn't find it damaging even though I have quite sensitive dry skin at times. The product did a great cleansing job, especially when compared to it's cost. It has shown to be excellent value for money.
I use this product alongside a cleansing non wash off product with cotton wool, and a toner afterwards. It just shows you don't always have to spend lots of money to get a good quality product.
Having been fairly impressed with Tesco's vitamin E facial wipes, I had already decided that I would be buying this when my face wash next ran out. The packaging has been updated so it no longer looks like the image dooyoo have on file. Instead the whole bottle is a pink/peach colour, with the text in a bold, dark reddish colour. As such, it looks much more modern. Currently it is priced at 72p for 150ml which is excellent value.
The bottle rests upside down on its flip top lid, which is sturdy and easy to use. The product itself is a colourless gel/liquid. It has a very fresh, natural small and always reminds me of the smell you get when you trim the stems of a bunch of flowers before putting them in a vase! It doesn't claim to have any particular scent so I'm not sure whether this was intentional or not.
You don't get a huge amount or foam, despite the name. It lathers up easier but I wouldn't really describe it as foamy. However you do only need to use a little amount, so much so that my bottle has lasted me for months.
As well as containing vitamin E, this wash is also ph balanced and paraben free. Strangely I had never heard of parabens until a couple of weeks before buying the product, so it was just a coincidence to me, but if you are trying to avoid them then this product would be good. I don't claim to understand all the issues surrounding parabens but some people believe them to be carcinogens and so do not use products containing them which can prove difficult to find.
I am really impressed with how good my skins looks and feels after using this product, it really seems to suit my face. Most importantly my skin never feels dry or irritated after using it. Although it is cheaper than other brands I don't feel it is any sort of compromise and plan to stick with it.
The first thing that attracted me to this product, was the price. I am always looking for new skincare products to try out, in the vain hope that I will one day find that mystery miracle product that will leave my skin gloriously perfect. When I saw this Facial Wash for just 70p in Tescos, I had to give it a try.
So, what do you get? Firstly, the packaging is a simple tube with screw top lid - it serves its purpose. On the front of the tube it says "Facial Wash. Vitamin E" and we are told that it is suitable for all skin types and is dermatologically tested. On the back of the tube is written...
Facial Wash with Vitamin E
This facial wash enriched with vitamin E has been especially formulated to help care for your skin. The gentle soap free formulation cleanses your skin, leaving it feeling smooth and soft.
The product is clear gel-like in appearance. I find that I only need a very small amount, so it is economical to use. It foams up very well, rinses off easily, and really does leave my skin feeling very clean.
The downside though, is that it does tend to dry out my skin if I use it daily. I can almost completely combat this problem with moisturiser, but if I don't moisturise, I find that my skin feels tight and dry patches occur - especially around my nose and mouth.
I haven't experienced any breakouts using this product - and my skin is prone to the occasional spot or ten if not looked after properly.
This is definitely a product I will be buying again - as for 70p, it is well worth it, just be prepared to moisturise!
