The body shop has become a major cosmetic and beauty brand over the past few decades, It was founded by a lady called Anita Roddick, who has not only brought these wonderful products into our lives but she has also help change thousands of peoples lives around the world.
The body shop cosmetics have become very popular as they are not tested on animals, all of the ingredients are made from natural extracts and not only that, the body shop helps support major projects like under privileged countries, and has even help raise awareness for young HIV sufferers.
Sadly Dame Anita Roddick passed away at the age of 62, in September 2007.
ALOE FACIAL CLEANSER
Aloe calming facial cleanser has become one of my favourite products, as I have very sensitive skin I find if very difficult to find a product that will not effect my skin.
Granted I don't really like to pay out on expensive products, as I have never been one for looking after my skin but as I have started to age, I felt it was by far time to step up and take action. I have tried a few cleansers over the past few years but on application my skin would start to sting on burn, then I would have a flare up.
I was reluctant to try this at first as nothing was working for my skin and I didn't what to irritate my skin any further, I purchase a bottle to try as I was assure it would be fine for you skin type.
The cleanser is designed for sensitive and over sensitive skin, and I have to say it seems to be very kind to the skin and has never ever caused any irritation.
This costs 6.00 per 200ml bottle, from any body shop retail shop of at home party.
THE PRODUCT
This aloe facial cleanser come is a mint green 200ml bottle, with a flip top cap. I feel this prevents waste as the bottle tends to suck excess cleanser back into the bottle, if you are anything like me this is a good thing as I am very heavy handed and I hate to waste products that have cost me money.
Before you use the cleanser you must remove any make up with make up remover, once this has been done take a cotton pad and squirt a 20p size amount on to the damp cotton pad. I am saying damp pad as it is easier to apply the product because these little pads have a tendency to split and leave stings of wool all over you face, but you can leave them dry if you wish, but I have found that you do use more product this way.
With the pad add a blob of cleanser to your forehead, nose, chin and each cheek. Now you need to rub this in, you can either do it with your hands or the cotton pads. Massage product into your face using circular motions, once you feel that your skin has absorbed most of the product, or you feel like it has removed the grime you can now take another two cotton pads and remove excess product from your face.
Once this is complete you can finish with a toner and a moisturiser, to get better results.
INGREDIENTS
All of the ingredients within this cleanser come form natural extracts.
Aqua, Aloe, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylic Capric, Triglyceride, Elaeis Guineesis. Butylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Cerearyl Alcohol, Sorbitol, Glyceryl Stearate, Orbignya Oleifera, Acrylates C10 - 30, Alkyl Acrylate, Crosspolymer, XANTHAN Gum, Disodium Phosphate.
MY THOUGHTS
I really feel like I have found the perfect product, as my skin is no longer sore and dry. The sensitivity of my skin is no longer a factor that gets me down.
The product is fairly thick so it is very easy to apply and will not run all down your face, and it is very easily absorbed into my skin leaving it feeling very clean a fresh feeling.
The smell is also very soft and not over powering, it really smells fresh and clean that's the best way to describe it.
I find it very easy to apply and remove, and the best thing about it, is that it only takes a few minutes I seen to brush my teeth for a longer period.
So for 6.00 every 3 months I feel I have found the best product, some people may like 6.00 is very excessive but if this lasts three months then this is costing a little under 50p a week.
I would recommend you try the toner and moisturiser to work along side this to get better results, the toner also costs 6.00 and the moisturiser costs 8.00. Not a bad price for great looking skin.
