We needed to buy some new flannels as the ones we had were looking rather worn so when I went to The Body Shop and I saw this I bought it. The fact it said 'luxury' on it really appealed to me as sometimes the only luxury I have is that little bit of time to myself in which I have a bath.
I think that the way that it is called luxury is because it is slightly bigger than a normal flannel and is also very soft, it really is! Before I used it for the first time though I washed it, I always like to wash things first especially things like towels and flannels. I was a little worried that washing it may make it lose it's sofness but it didn't, it still remained just as soft.
I use this for washing my face mainly, the soap lathers quite nicely on it and it is really soft against my skin especially when I'm trying to remove some eye make up too, it really makes a difference to have a lovely soft flannel. It's really lovely and luxurious.
I always make sure that after I use it I wring it dry and leave it on the radiator to stop it from going mouldy and help it to dry. It is always soft again the next time I come to use it.
This is a lovely flannel, yes I could have bought one for much cheaper elsewhere but it wouldn't have been as soft as this!
I am reviewing a Luxury Facial Flannel which is from The Body Shop. The super-soft flannel is the perfect partner for facial washes or for wiping off a facial mask. This flannel will help to enhance cleaning and it is gentle on the skin. I purchased this product as when removing a facial mask I tend to use cotton wool pads, which means I tend to use a lot of them to ensure that the facial mask is fully removed. I have heard of this product before and thought it would be a good option to use this instead of cotton wool pads all the time. I would actually be able to use this with facial wash and to remove facial masks but it can also be used for cleanser as well. The flannel comes in plastic packaging which you can use to keep the flannel in after each use. This packaging is re-sealable at the top so you can keep the flannel nice and safe. When using the flannel for the first time it will be folded neatly and sealed in plastic in this re-useable packaging. I pulled the main plastic packaging apart and took the flannel out and cut the top of the plastic to enable me to get the flannel out and use. On the main packaging it states what the product is and on the back it tells you a little about the product and how to use it. The flannel itself is white and feels extremely soft. The Body Shop logo is embossed in one corner of the flannel. I purchased the flannel from my local Body Shop store for 4.50. You can also purchase this from The Body Shop website (www.thebodyshop.co.uk). They advise using this product every morning or evening with a facial wash or cleanser to effectively cleanse the skin. You can also use it to remove facial masks as well. The first time I used the flannel was to remove a facial mask I had applied. The mask had been on for a good 10mins now and it was now time to remove it. I filled the sink in the bathroom up with lukewarm water and popped the flannel into the water before removing and squeezing out the excess water. The flannel soaks up water quite quickly but it can be wrung out to leave the flannel slightly damp. I then wiped the flannel gently over areas on my face to remove the facial mask. The mask I used wasn''t very thick so I didn''t have to rub at my face in order to remove it. The flannel felt lovely and soft on my skin and did a great job at removing the facial mask. I could see the mask and dirt that had been removed from my face on the flannel. I drained the water in the sink and turned on the hot tap to give the flannel a good rinse out. Although the flannel feels and looks quite strong you have to be careful with it, as it can rip very easily. If you leave the flannel to air dry then it does go quite hard so I tend to fold it and pop it back into the packaging after giving it a good rinse. I would then rinse it again before using it anyway to ensure that it was definitely clean before using it. I haven''t used this product with a facial wash but I have also used it to remove cleanser from my face as well. Again the flannel feels so soft against my skin and is a luxury to use. It removes the cleanser from my face easily leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. To clean the flannel I do literally just give it a good rinse under the tap. I sometime use a gentle face wash to clean the flannel as well. As the flannel is white it may start to show marks overtime and also look dirty. When looking on the Body Shop website some people have continued using this flannel for jobs around the home when it starts looking old and have treated themselves to a new one. When I saw this product in my local Body Shop, I thought it looked and sounded brilliant. I did actually pop into my local store to purchase the Muslin cloth, but ended up getting this one as well. Although I didn''t go into the store to intentionally purchase this I am now glad I did as it''s so nice to use to remove cleanser and facial masks. I have to admit that I use it to remove masks more than I do cleanser but it''s nice using this instead of lots of cotton wool pads which can be rather costly if you do a facial mask at least once a week like me. When I first took the flannel out from the packaging I was surprised at just how soft the flannel felt. It was luxuriously soft and had a good thickness to it as well. Once the flannel was wet this made it even softer and it felt lovely against my skin when removing the facial mask. The flannel is so quick and easy to use and it rinses off easily as well. I like that you can store the flannel back into the packaging which is came in, so it stays nice and clean after rinsing it. In terms of value the flannel is rather pricey for what it is, but it is a lovely product and is much softer than using an everyday flannel on your skin, which can sometimes feel a little rough/harsh. I only used the flannel 1-2 times a week so it should last me a good amount of time before I even need to think about purchasing a new one. If you don''t mind paying the price then I would definitely recommend this product.
I like to use a lot of face masks when I'm having a long lazy soak in the bath and of course I use a face wash as well every day and for this I appreciate one flannel for just this purpose and just for me to use. I picked this one up in The Body Shop a rather long time ago now and at full price it costs £4.50 though I think I paid a lot less for it as I don't reckon I would have ever parted with the best part of a fiver for just one flannel....I mean I would now knowing what I know but without knowing I certainly wouldn't have!
The flannel is very simple in its design and in my opinion is rather unisex looking. Its a pure white colour with The Body Shop in Green branding to the left hand corner of it. Its fluffy and feels a bit like terry toweling to me and I assume it is cotton. Its certainly nice and smooth to use and rather easy to rinse out.
I use mine daily and as I mentioned earlier this is just for my face. If using it with a face wash I simply rinse it out after using it and allow it to air dry in the bathroom and then give it a wash in my washing machine once a week ish (this is suitable for tumble drying too by the way) however if using a face mask that is of colour and strong fragrance then I do pop this in a hot wash as otherwise it does tend to stain and after alot of using this mine really is an off white colour now!
Washing and tumble drying this regularly hasn't made this lose its thickness/softness and it certainly isn't anywhere like looking like its falling apart though it has seen better days colourwise and is going a bit grey as I've already pointed out to you....so I'm off to buy another one from The Body Shop cos I can't argue with the quality of it and when first bought for a while it looks really nice!
Only available from The Body Shop.

I normally have my shower in the morning when I wake up so in the evening I just wash my face and take off my make up and don't bother with another shower. I can get a really good face clean in the shower as I use an Olay facial wash but its really in the evenings where I need to make sure that I have washed all my makeup off and have a nice clean, fresh face before I fall asleep.
One of the ways in which I do this is to use a facial cloth in the evenings to wash my face and this one from The Body Shop is great. I have been using this cloth for a number of months now and it gets my face really nice and clean and it lasts for quite a long time too. The flannel is made from a sort of weird material, it sort of reminds me of a shammy leather in a way, it has that kind of consistency as its very different from a terry towelling flannel like you normally get.
I think its this strong tough material that manages to get my face nice and clean as I can wipe it over my face with a touch of cleanser and all traces of make up and dirt come off on it. What I also like about it is that its really soft of my skin and I think the material helps with that as it just seems to smooth across my face nice and gently and is not as harsh as a towel flannel would be.
It is a good size, not too big but big enough to be able to wipe my whole face in one go.
I can use this for about a week before it needs a wash to get it nice and clean again, I just put it in a regular wash but don't put it in the dryer and then when it dries its nice and clean again. In between washes I just hang it out and make sure it is not scrunched up in a ball on the side of the sink and it will not smell and then make your face all smelly and damp like a towel flannel would.
This flannel cost me just £4 from The Body Shop which I think is really good value and a nice cleansing face cloth.
