The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash
Advantages: See review!
Disadvantages: See review!
I am a fan of the Body Shop, so when I was looking for a new face wash a few months ago this store was my first port of call.
I have combination skin - I have oily patches as well and dry areas and I wanted something that would deeply cleanse and clear up the blackheads that seemed to have developed on my chin. This tea tree face wash was recommended to be by the shop assistant, so I decided to give it a try.
*** Price and availability ***
This face wash was £4.50 for a 250ml plastic bottle. This is good value because the bottle goes a long way - each one lasts me over three months, because you only need a ten pence sized blob of this when you wash your face.
You can get this from Body Shop stores - which are located on most major high streets. Or alternatively you can buy at a Body Shop at Home party, or on-line at www.thebodyshop.co.uk. I would also recommend checking eBay for this product because you can often pick new bottles up for around £2.50.
*** What does it say on the bottle? ***
The Body Shop claims that this "cleansing gel-based facial wash" is "suitable for everyday use to help prevent blemishes, removing excess oil without over drying the skin." The Body Shop also says that this product "lifts pore-clogging impurities and reduces excess oil without over-drying skin. Breakouts are minimised with regular use."
*** My Opinion ***
This face wash is really easy to use, you put a small amount onto you hand and then rub it into your skin with warm water. You will see the face wash visibly foam up and the menthol within this product will make your skin tingle - it feels as though the wash is really doing its job - cleaning deep into your skin.
When I dry my skin with a towel it doesn't feel particularly tight (which is unusual because face washes usually dry my combination skin out). However I always make sure I moisturise, regardless - I'm 25 now, moisturising my skin has to be a priority and although I'm convinced this face wash does the job of a cleanser and toner, I do feel like a little more moisture is required after use.
Overall I'd say that I am a big fan of this face wash. I have been using it for around three months and it's noticeably improved my skin, my pores are much cleaner and my face also seems brighter.
Five out of five stars.
