Advantages: Easy to apply, pleasant scent, clear benefits, visible improvements.

Disadvantages: Strong scent may not be to everyones liking.

The Body Shop isn't really a company I have turned to very often to look at their product ranges. I find it quite a feminine store to enter and must say I find it quite daunting to go in there without a female to be honest! I noticed The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash on the internet and decided to give it a go as a product like this should be great for clearing acne in no time - especially after some of the reviews I have read!

The packaging isn't clinical looking at all, though it is professionally and neatly laid out, with key information clearly displayed on the front of the clear plastic bottle. The Body Shop has its branding predominantly emblazoned onto the label and the recyclable bottle has a robust and smart looking lid also. The label is dark green, in contrast to the pale green colour of the product itself, which can be seen through the clear bottle.

Priced at under a fiver for the 250ml bottle it is fairly reasonable, though I must say that The Body Shop does charge a little more due to its ethical and environmental approach to the manufacturing and testing processes. The ingredients are as follows and if you don't understand what each particular ingredient does then you are certainly not alone!

Aqua (water), Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-120 MethylGlucose Diolcate, Polysorbate 20, Alcohol Denat., Melaleuca alternifolia, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Allantoin, Polyquaternium-10, Sodium Salicylate, Citric acid, CI 19140, CI 42090.

Once I opened the cap I soon got a whiff of the strong scent of the tea tree. Although it is quite strong this doesn't put me off and actually gives me confidence in the product more than anything. The Tea Tree is a great antiseptic, anti-bacterial and soother of the skin, so I am glad this has a strong presence, after all this is a Tea Tree Facial Wash! I don't use a great deal of the gel for each application and it lathers quite nice on a sponge or in my hands. I apply this lather to damp skin and concentrate on the neck and face - particularly my 't-zone'. There are obvious benefits to using a facial wash containing tea tree and for those with particularly bad acne this is certainly an ingredient you should be looking out for.

I use the facial wash once or twice a day depending on my routine and if my acne is particularly bad or not. Often this facial wash calms and soothes my skin and gives me much welcomed relief from the itch and redness acne sufferers have to deal with. My skin does feel a little tight after use, though it also feels rather soft aswell. More importantly I can feel a physical difference in the fact that my skin is clear of oil and my pores are clear of bacteria - ideal for preventing further outbreaks of acne. I most definately have to recommend The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash to anyone wishing to tackle an acne problem or just keep their skin clear from impurities and restore that healthy glow.

Summary: Ultimately a very good product all-round.
